One of my favorite places in Waterville. The menu is quite extensive with many many great choices. The food is absolutely great. For example, the onion soup is outstanding the calamari excellent. The burgers are away Sugar Sugar great, but the specialtyspecial items such as pot pie and other pubish style food is absolutely great and worth trying. The special drink menu was definitely worth checking out. The martinis are excellent. The beers seem to come out in frosted glasses, even in the winter. There is plenty of parking nearby. The venue is spacious and wide open with plenty of TVs. It was a great place to watch the Olympics. read more

Had a group of 12 on a Saturday night to accommodate with separate checks before an 8 PM Opera House show and had made a 6 PM reservation a couple of weeks in advance. SST managers, waiting staff, and kitchen handled the matter beautifully and we were all delighted with our meals. Beyond that, were out well before the 8 PM showtime. Delicious pub food. Generous portions. Spacious outdoor patio. Friendly fast staff. We had been getting take out for a year and finally had time to eat at the restaurant. We met a couple of local friends and it was a relaxing time, we didn't feel rushed at all. I loved the ginger plum wings a lot!!! I definitely would get them again. Crispy sweet and savory. Perfect! We also got the onion rings when we saw all of the other tables around us ordering and enjoying them. They did not disappoint. My husband's burger was ok. But not anything great. My daughter's Lebanese salad was terrible. Neither the hummus or tabouli had any flavor, the steak pieces were thick and tough. And the lettuce was in massive pieces. My Maui wowie chicken. Had no wow. The chicken was good but I can't decide if the rice was so undercooked that it was still crunchy or so over dry from sitting that it was dehydrated. And to top it off, we told the waitress I had a seafood allergy not to bring us fries if they were cooked in the same seafood My food came with fries that are fried in the same oil. They were really busy so I just told the waitress to bring me a separate plate and I would put the fries on a separate plate and just eat around it. She proceeded to bring a second plate and then just reached on my plate with her hand and started grabbing handfuls of fries off, didn't let me have a chance to slide them off myself with a knife. I will definitely not be coming back to this place. Oh, and there's a huge crack around the women's room bathroom door. I could see my daughter and granddaughter inside. read more

Hi Friends, Boogying down to Waterville to catch a show at the Opera House, I Bebopped over to SST for a pre show bite to eat. A well appointed room, with many classic tavern trappings, the place was hopping as one of the joints open on a Sunday night with a sold out show right within walking distance. I was greeted by a harried hostess, who nonetheless was upbeat and on point. I put my name on the waitlist and did that the bar would be alright as I was flying solo Well, the hostess, seeing the growing line of hungry couples behind me, took it upon herself to move the boss's meal from a bar seat, freeing it up for me The place has a lower level, which wasn't open on a Sunday night (sign at door had me thinking it's more of a private event space). I'm not sure if they were unaware of Elvis Costello show being a sellout or if they were already all hands on deck The good- I went with a Southwest avocado burger, which was perfectly cooked to my request and bursting full of flavor. Both the hostess and the bartender were on point, even though they were on the edge of the weeds. And for a crowded room, the sound level was not obsessive The bad- the joint did feel understaffed. The solo bartender could've had either a dedicated bar back or a service tender, as she was trying to serve her 10 or so stools while making the drink orders for the rest of the dining room. Because of the bartender being on verge of weeds, I didn't order an app nor did I more fully explore the menu and specials. And the dessert seemed be a purchased item rather than housemade, which at price point as well as quality of other food I saw come out from the kitchen, that was a let down Would I recommend SST? Absolutely! Will I try it out again when I'm in Waterville? Most definitely Would I go out of my way to dine there? Super awesome spot, food was fantastic, Cierra our server was excellent and she had excellent recommendations on the menu. She made a point of suggesting something on the menu that she thought I'd enjoy more than something that was more expensive, she clearly prioritizes her customers more than just making a sale. Really appreciated that. The live music on the evening we went was also a lovely time. We were right next to the musician and it wasn't ever too loud. Seems like a really great neighborhood spot, it was busy and for good reason. If we ever are back up to this part of Maine, we won't forget this spot. read more

Service here was good overall. Great the first night I came, bartender was on point and attentive, kitchen staff was a little cold but they were trying to close up so I won't hold that against them. Service was a little less great on the second night but it was much busier and attentions were everywhere. It wasn't too loud for how busy it was so that was good but with rowdier crowds it could easily become overwhelming. Food was great the second night, items ordered are pictured in the review. First night was a limited menu and as I said right as they were closing up, but I ordered the deconstructed nachos and everything tasted like it was served out of a can. It was tortilla chips with a side of refried bean dip and melted cheese, side of lettuce, some pickled jalapeños, sliced black olives, sour cream and salsa. Not great. They do have a varied and extensive menu so I'm sure they have plenty of other winning dishes, and I am willing to come back and try again. read more

We met a couple of friends here for a meal before attending a concert nearby. A sign tells you to seat yourself, but they also accept reservations. We were lucky that a table reservation had just been cancelled before we arrived. They have a fairly good menu selections, though some of their specialty dishes cost a bit more than I tend to want to pay. My wife and I decided to share an order of nachos with all the fixings, but were presented with an oddity: apparently due to the kitchen making errors in what ingredients are wanted (for example, we didn't want the olives or jalapeño) they served the ingredients of the nachos separately and left us to assemble the order ourselves. The couple with us had a couple of issues with their orders. Our pleasant server worked to fix it for them. On a side note, the restaurant tries to be environmentally sound, with paper straws, biodegradable take-home boxes, and so on. We decided that we wouldn't mind giving the place another try, as long as we can avoid ordering meals we have to assemble ourselves. read more

I genuinely do not understand how a restaurant so we'll known for slow service becomes a local staple. The food is OK. You are going to wait a while for it though. If you are there during the day for lunch you may wait anywhere from 30-60 minutes for a burger. It has happened to me on more than one occasion. Business lunch, just trying to catch a quick bite? Not here. The good. They can accommodate large parties fairly easily due to their spacing and layout. Please, just know, you need to give yourself extra time if you have plans after. read more

Great place with some good food. Stopped in late night to pick up some food and just missed the grill. The manager happened to be right there and saved the day. Whipped up a great lobster roll for me with some fries and wings. Extra star just for Jada being so amazing!!! This place had a great feel to it though. Was a band in the back playing music and the crowd was super into it. Place was a typical bar but did had TVs all around playing sports, every single staff I interacted with with over the top nice, EVERYONE!!! They truly make you feel welcomed there. Ok so the lobstah was not bad at all, I mean it's Maine, so I was looking for my brain to explode off the first bite so it was tough to begin with. Fries and wings were good. Four of us ordered: Calamari bland and bad Onion rings bland and bad Lobster roll bland and bad Burger bland and over cooked Nachos bad in every way you can be. How do you mess up nachos? Very nice lunch, sitting outside on a Sunny summer Sunday at the Silver Street Tavern. Can't believe this was our first time here after all these years, we will certainly not wait another decade to come back. A lot of variate guy on the menu, I chose the waiter recommended baked stuffed haddock. I love ordering baked stuffed haddock, as it can be so different from place to place. So we had a 6 top table and ordered around 6 appetizers. I ordered the ribeye as well as one other person. The meat had probably been killed three times and even the waiter said he knew it was overdone before he brought it out (so why bring it out). So I asked for a burger....which never came until we asked where it was while paying the check. So now I get to go home to a burger I can reheat....oh yummy. I even had to get up and get my own drink at the bar that had been sitting there for over 4 minutes ( one of the the other patrons applauded me). We have always been fans of SST. Today was not good. First we ordered a MaiTai. It was all orange juice. We ordered shrimp cocktail-- the cocktail sauce was marinara with a dallop of horseradish and Parmesan cheese. We also ordered a spinach and artichoke dip it was extremely bland. Enjoying Bloody Mary's, I noticed a man hustling cleaning up tables. I learned from our fantastic waitress, Courtney, that he was Charlie, the owner. Awesome example of leading your staff. We had French onion soup (fabulous), calamari (delicious). I had the French dip while my friend had the stuffed haddock. I totally recommend this establishment for all to enjoy. Impressive menu with tons of variety. The venue is very large and the service is very nice. Our waitress, Elizabeth, was very friendly and took good care of us. Salads were nice and fresh. Went to the restaurant yesterday for Mother's Day. Had a larger party. Service was slow but understandable given the day. The waitress did a decent job considering. Food was terrible. Two in the party had a burger. They advertise the burgers as 1/2 lb. Not even close despite the cooking process. Barely bigger than a McDonald's single. Three in the party had the Caribbean Jerk Chicken wrap. Supposed to have Caesar dressing and had none. You'd also think a sandwich advertised as Jerk chicken would have jerk spice. Nope. Finally one of the party order a pizza. Hard as a rock. Terrible experience and won't come back. Been there done that. read more

My mouth was on fire after eating the ribs, despite absolutely zero indication in the menu that they had any spice to them. Not sure what they put in their sauce or rub, but it is WAY too heavy handed on the spice, I couldn't even eat them all. My wife's lobster Mac was fine and our server was pleasant and attentive. But stay away from the ribs if super spicy isn't your thing (it's definitely not mine). read more
