This brewery is open more than most any other businesses in the area and located in the small town of Sheridan where it seems everyone gathers several nights a week, either to play trivia or listen to great live music. Fran and Abby bartend most often and can recommend a brew if you can't choose among the many they offer. I haven't had a beer I didn't like, and have taken the informal tour by brewmaster Keith (who knows his stuff and is not too hard on the eyes either!) While the place doesn't have a kitchen, they offer food you can order through a small window to the pizzeria next door (which makes more than pizza) and is equally amazing. read more

This is THE brewpub in the Ruby Valley. They have good beers, friendly and efficient service, and a wonderful small town ambiance. It seems 1/2 of the town's population is there for events including trivia night on Wednesdays. Friday afternoon and evening are also special. My wife and I love this town and this brewpub. read more

I tried the Maverick IPA, I could've tried more, but I like to just get full ambience and pick 1. IMO, IPA's are a 2.2-2.3 carbonation beer and this felt more like a 1.8-1.9. Flavor was good, I just feel it was a little flat. The staff was helpful and friendly read more

First off, the beer is pretty good, but I'll admit not the best I've had. This is ultimately why I gave it only 4 stars, which is still quite respectable coming from me. It is however far better than you'll find for quite some distance. I can however definitely recommend trying it if you are in the area. They also have a convenient speak easy arrangement with Bread Zepplin next door, making it very easy to order a pizza without having to leave the brewery. Props to them for this arrangement! I'm also willing to give the business some leeway in terms of COVID compliance. They do seem to at least acknowledge the virus is a real threat, and were actually adhering to restrictions during the early stages. The local community they serve however is a bit different story being adamantly anti-compliance, but I'm not sure that's fair to ding the brewery heavily for that. If we've already got the vaccine by the time you get here, have at it! read more

went in on Friday to have a beer. just saw the sign and thought what the heck. The server behind the bar was yelling at the top of her lungs about a caterpillar that someone brought in, to the point that my head started aching. The beer isn't that great. I have had a lot better brews in Bozeman and Butte. This place is WAY WAY too loud and the servers are not friendly. plus, it's way too pricey for what they offer, which is mediocre beer and loud noise. The owner obviously doesn't care to enforce conversational levels, and combined with the fact that they allow children in the drinking areas, that's a big nope. Never again. read more

Loved this little neighborhood brewery. We went about 5 PM and it was filled with locals just enjoying themselves and the delicious beer. The ambiance was friendly, and a lot of that was due to the bar tender who was attentive and gracious to all the clients, regulars and newcomers (us!). Being a fan of microbrew and entrepreneurs and small towns, we were excited to read in the Loop magazine that Sheridan would soon have its own taphouse. We mentioned this and the plumber at my in-laws (who I would also give five stars) told us that it was already open from 12-8. The Ruby Valley Brew website talks about how they want to make it a community place to gather and visit with your neighbors. The location in the heart of downtown helps with that. We pulled up and they've obviously put work into the storefront. Walk in, and we were greeted by a wave from the bar, and we took a table. Each table had a deck of cards on it to encourage hanging out, and the list of brews was centrally located so it could be seen from anywhere in the room. We couldn't decide what to try, so we got a flight with all the beers, plus some barley wine. They are all smooth and drinkable, and go great with good friends. We started visiting with Amanda (I think) and the love for good beer and Sheridan were apparent from the start. Both she and the young lady pouring beers were very friendly and helpful. Along with the good beer, they have a variety of growlers, hats, etc, all at good prices. I'm excited for Ruby Valley Brew and Sheridan, and plan on returning next time we come up from Burney. read more

While making a trip through Montana we stumbled upon this hidden gem. It was off the beaten path for us, but oh so worth it. We had two flights which was a total of 8 beers. Out of the 8, there wasn't a single one I didn't like, which is impressive because I am rather picky when it comes to beer. Some of the favorites were the Maverick Mary's Mosaic IPA, the red wheat, the rye and the nut brown. But once again, they were all good. The service was both knowledgeable and friendly. I would highly recommend making a stop if you are anywhere near this brewery, actually I would recommend making it intentional to be near enough to be able to stop and check this place out. read more
