I've been patronizing this very location for over the past three decades. In that time, I understand that the ownership of business has changed hands several times. The best thing about the Main Sub is the sauce that comes on it. It's worth ordering extra sauce in the side. When I was a kid, I would buy one of these every few months or so. My most recent order of a few days ago found me wondering why the deli meat was so tough and difficult to chew. At least the bread tasted fresh. My sister ordered a veggie pizza. It looked fantastic. However, it tasted as if one of the kitchen workers had sprinkled table salt over the top of the pizza. (Yuck. Not every food requires additional salt.) If I ever return, I may order other menu items, but first inquire about the sodium content. Dining choices are fairly limited in Hibbing, but thankfully the Super One grocery store is available. Two and a half stars, rounded down to two stars for ruining our pizza. read more

Horrible in every sense of the word! Just because you have the means to purchase a business doesn't mean you should, especially the food business! The product put out here has continually declined since new ownership, and it's unfortunate being that Rudi's has been a Hibbing staple for so long. I certainly hope that this does not happen at Palmer's now that this owner has a stake in that business! Ranger sub, and the fried foods are the way to go. I've bought pasta, salads, pizzas, and basically sampled most of their menu. Never buy their take home pizzas as they end up raw and never the way you'd expect it. Their pasta sauce lacks any flavor, skip it. read more

Night 2 in Hibbing and tried out Rudi's. Dang-even better than the one down the street we had last night!! Crispy crust-like a cracker around the edges, tasty cheese and sauce. As someone who moved away from Hibbing almost a decade ago, let me just say some of you don't realize just how much of an absolute treasure Rudi's is. The subs here...there is nothing quite as good as them anywhere else. They are perfection. The sub sauce? Required. If I am in Hibbing to see family, I will plan when I leave to make sure that I can go to Rudi's and grab a Ranger and Italian Stallion to go and bring back to the cities. I am heading up there today for an early family Christmas gathering, and you can be damned sure I won't leave town until after 4pm so I can roll on up to Rudi's and satisfy a craving no place else can. For those complaining about service or occasionally screwed up orders...look, it doesn't happen that often, and every time I've stopped by the kids working here have been sweet. Maybe a bit distractible, but let 'em be that way. It's part of the experience, and if that bothers you, might I suggest you calm down and think about what actually matters in life. And maybe think about how lucky you are that Rudi's is still running strong after all these years. You know why? Because it's simple but delicious. God dang it I love this place, and I see some of you giving two stars because a teenager didn't answer the phone fast enough one time. Shut up. You have no idea the treasure you have. Generally the food is ok. The big bird sub is good. The pasta sauce is bland and acidic. A good place for kids. I'm glad for a local business and being open during covid. We had one major problem. We were parked out front, it said to call for service, we called multiple times and they never answered. So we tried calling over the server who was helping another customer. She ignored us and went back into the store. We sat there an additional 10 minutes while we watched multiple customers get help and they refused to answer the phone or even acknowledge us being there for food. Because of this I will never go back and I will never recommend them to anyone. read more

Nicknamed "The Teenage Wasteland" in 1987, Rudi's has been an awesome option for a late night bite to eat. Runs till midnight on weekdays, 2:00 AM on weekends. Definitely a hangout for young adults. Some people that go in there are sketchfests, but that is all part of the "Rudi's Experience". Not much to complain about. Some stuff is over priced, *hint *hint, all the appetizers. Which will cost them a star on the rating scale. Other than that, food is awesome, hours are perfect, friendly staff, can't get much better than good old Rudi's on a Saturday night. read more

Chris!!! This guy is the man! Best restaurant experience I have had in the town of Hibbing and it was thanks to this guy! We had the cheese curds and taco sub. Very delicious, I recommend adding jalapeños. The prices are very reasonable and we had a huge feast for only $18.25. Ordered food from here tonight. I distributed it out and seen something was missing. Called rhea right away to let them know. They were going to send them. Get a phone call a half hour later calling us liars. The guy who called said he packed the cheese curds himself and they aren't going to send out a driver to bring us free cheese curds. They were for my autistic son so we definitely noticed that they weren't there. The guy was arguing with my mother and kept insisting they didn't have time to run us free food. My family and I try to get here as often as we can. Super clean and friendly staff and service. The food is absolutely awesome! We love the sandwiches and my kids love the season fries. Every time we go the food is consistent, which is one of my fAvorite parts...I always know what I'm going to get. Love it! read more
