If you fail this program it's not because they didn't prepare you; this I know for sure. I would recommend the Phlebotomy program; but get a sponsor through SEIU, Kaiser union members. its is very expensive without a sponsor. Make sure you're very nice extra nice to get your blood draws from classmates!

The instructors are kind people, yet very lazy in terms of teaching valuable skill. You get shown how to do something once, and as you continue to practice and ask for clarification, they get mad and irritated. For the phlebotomy program in particular, you DO NOT GET AN EXTERNSHIP. Their "externship" is on site, which basically means you bring in occasional volunteers to practice on, or continue to do so on your own classmates. They don't place you into clinical sites which is quite important when you start looking for jobs, which most require experience, and these types of "externships" do not count unless you have actual clinical hours documented. So this school, takes $3000 dollars out of you, just to not help you in the future. You still get your license, but does it help you start a career from entry level - it absolutely does not! Another criticism, is how much they waste your time. On the state exam day, the proctor was 3 hours late! An absolute waste of time and money.

They told us she didn't make an All Star team at all, only the mini prep team. She was devastated. She worked two years towards her tumbling and stunts. She was already doing mini prep the year prior. She learned and perfected handsprings and many other skills prior to her first year of mini prep, but it was our first year of cheer so we accepted it, but a second season of mini prep is not acceptable for her with her skills. So we decided we would try out at several gyms just to find out if GEA was right or wrong. Yep, GEA was totally wrong to place my daughter on Mini prep a second year, according to all the other All Star gyms. My daughter made level 2 All Star at every location she tried out for. So what did we do? We packed our bags and moved on to another gym. Couldn't be happier that we did. Half of the All Star coaches, office staff and both owners are fake at GEA. If you are there favorite and fake like them this is the best place for you. If you question them they will treat you like a snake, for asking. My daughter was treated unfairly by the owner several times. She would come home crying and crying when I told her she had to go to cheer practice at GEA. My daughter moved to a different gym. She goes and comes home a happy girl now. She has come so far at her new All Star gym. At her new All Star gym they treat her like she matters and she is off soon to compete at Nationals in Orlando Florida. We are looking good and confident. Even if we don't win, we are happy just to be free from GEA. Her coach at her new gym and her tumbling gym all say she is ready to try out for level 3 now. If we were at GEA not sure they would let her move up. They tend to try and keep the girls stale. Unless you are their favorite and yes, they have those favorite girls. Those favorite girls are turning out like them at GEA fake and they will treat your girl badly and get away with it. However, don't stick up for yourself there against those mean favorite girls because they won't get into trouble, you will. If you're not their favorite you will get into trouble for sticking up for yourself against them. I would not recommend this gym. I would recommend if you are a real honest person keep looking around for a gym that treats you and your kids with respect and kindness. We were not the only family who left this gym because of how they were treated. I know a lot of those people who left. They are so much happier now. Tryouts coming soon. My daughter will be trying out for level three but not at GEA. Never ever again.

This is my daughter's first year participating in mid-season cheer with GEA and she has had such a…read morefun and positive experience. The coaches are top notch and are fantastic at communicating and nurturing the talents of their team members. The owners are caring and responsive. We couldn't be happier!

Back when my son was at his 5 y/o annual well check-up, I mentioned to his Kaiser pediatrician that I had concerns my son's speech was not where it should be. The doctor referred us to their Speech and Language Dept. where, after a formal assessment, it was determined that my son could benefit from Speech Therapy. Kaiser then gave us a long (and I mean long) list of vendors to reach out to. After calling multiple vendors in the area, only to have them tell me that they had waitlists upwards of 40, I was both desperate and hopeful that Yvonne would be available. I did not want to have to wait weeks, if not months, to get my son started. He was just starting kindergarten, and I did not want him to struggle socially or emotionally due to his speech. I left Yvonne a voicemail and she called me back soon after to inform me that she was able to take us on. Since both of our schedules were very busy and it was still somewhat during the pandemic (2021), we ended up booking Zoom sessions. I was skeptical at first about how practical and effective Zoom would be, but our first session quickly proved that it was going to work. Yvonne is super fun, patient, and efficient. She uses engaging and colorful games that my son immediately took to. He always looked forward to his weekly speech sessions because Yvonne always had something new and exciting to work on. I enjoyed watching her interact with my son as she was often genuinely enthused by his recap of his school day or weekend plans. She leads with positive reinforcement and gives a very helpful summary to the parents at the end of each session. We were given realistic tasks each week of what we (as a family) could be helping our son with daily. Nothing ever seemed too far reaching. Yvonne was very communicative and accessible via phone and email. There were times we had to reschedule, and she was always so kind in helping to find another time that worked in our busy schedules. Yvonne also worked collaboratively with my son's school Speech-Language Pathologist. In the weekly Zoom sessions, Yvonne worked on both her own goals as well as those summarized from his school. It was very comforting to know that our son was getting the best of the best. I cannot say enough great things about Yvonne without making her sound too good to be true. My son was so sad to learn that he was graduating from speech therapy after one year with Yvonne. He felt so empowered after each 30-minute session. My husband and I noticed that our son eventually self-corrected his speech, and would proudly announce to us that he was doing so. Yvonne is incredibly hardworking and cares deeply about her profession. It is amazing how quickly our son's speech improved within just one year. Yvonne will always hold a special place in our hearts. THANK YOU, YVONNE!
