From the moment we first stepped on campus which is now 5 years ago, it just felt different -- warm, welcoming, and full of energy. The teachers are incredible -- caring, attentive, and truly invested in each child's growth. The curriculum strikes such a great balance between strong academics and creative, hands-on learning. My daughter has grown so much in both confidence and curiosity since starting here and even visits her favorite teacher Ms. Castro. The sports programs are another huge highlight! There's such a great community spirit, and it's clear that the staff..shout out to Mr. Kennedy...values teamwork, leadership, and fun just as much as skill. What I love most is how inviting the environment is. You can feel the pride and positivity in everything from the classrooms to the playground. It's a place where kids are genuinely excited to go to school every day. I love every year they have been introducing new electives from sewing to DnD to even a T Swift club that is engaging for everyone. If you're looking for a school that blends strong academics, great extracurriculars, and a warm community -- Maryhill Midtown is a gem. We couldn't be happier.

From the very beginning, the school has provided a warm, family-like environment where students, parents, and teachers genuinely connect and collaborate. Merryhill's academics are comparable to top performing schools -- accelerated, challenging, and thoughtfully designed to help every student reach their fullest potential. As an Apple Distinguished School, technology and innovation are seamlessly integrated into the classroom, empowering students to think critically, create, and lead with confidence. Beyond academics, the variety of extracurriculars is extraordinary -- from Taylor Swift Club, Sewing, and Pokémon Club to sports and creative arts -- there's something for every child to discover and enjoy. Oh yes and Kids Kitchen ‍ The leadership of Mrs. Kennedy and Mr. Wallis has been remarkable. Their vision, compassion, and commitment to academic excellence create an atmosphere where teachers truly partner with families to nurture both the mind and heart of every student. From daycare at Merryhill Karista through elementary and middle school here at Merryhill Midtown has been a place of growth, belonging, and inspiration. We only wish there were a high school level to continue this incredible journey. Thank you Mustangs Parm Dhillon

I will begin with stating that our child was 6 years old in 2nd grade, which is young. He started a new school and we were getting a phone call every single day. EVERY SINGLE DAY. He is not that bad as he has had perfect days in his new school. We had already told them that he would need a transition time adjust to this new school and older schoolmates. The story begins..... The principal, Kelvin Jackson, told our child to "Shut up and come with me." after a particularly tough day at school. He did sent us an apology letter. As his father, I could accept that, but we knew that this wasn't the school for him to grow in faith or academically. We did pay over $600+ for him to be in school for a whole 8 days. We spoke with the on-site superintendent, Jason Yarbrough, (the only other review for the school, see below) after initially getting blown off by him the week before. He stated that we HAVE TO PAY $65 FOR AN EARLY TERMINATION FEE!!! We respectfully let him know that we had pulled him out from the principals actions, but that didn't matter as he continuously pointed out the behavior of our child and justify his principal. Of course we are going above and beyond to let parents know and are getting in contact with the school board. Charles

I am so happy I picked Natomas Christian School (NCS). Prior to my son starting school in August-2015 my beautiful wife and mother to my son died from cancer in January-2015. Needless to say we were still deep in our grief. I was faced with having to decide on the best school for my son that would understand the emotional trauma he was in and would work with me to make his transition as smooth as it could be under the circumstances. I looked at both public school and private schools. I quickly knew public school was not an option. My son needed a school that shared the same Christian beliefs as me, promoted prayer in school, did not use the Common Core curriculum, was affordable, had extended care, had a summer program and had small class sizes. NCS met my expectations to the letter. My son's kindergarten teacher (Mrs. Flowers) was the perfect teacher. She had a background in Psychology and was an experienced teacher. My son's transition was rough in the beginning but his teacher and school prayed for him and worked with him. In time he adjusted fine and was reading by Christmas! He is also good at double digit math and his overall confidence level has improved tremendously. I highly recommend NCS to anyone looking for a new school with small class sizes who view educating kids in the way it should be done. The staff and teachers are top notch and I'm very happy with where my son is emotionally, spiritually and academically. God Bless NCS!!

He's currently completed one year in a Kindergarten class at an elementary school, which operates in a 100% English-speaking environment, and he's thriving. My wife recently moved to Sacramento from the Bay Area for her job, so we're now looking for a new private school for our son. The Courtyard School is one of the options we're considering. When I initially called the school, a very kind and helpful 7th or 8th-grade teacher (whose name I can't recall) answered my questions. Ms. Fatima Lewis was equally gracious in our subsequent email exchanges. We were upfront in our communication, stating in an email that 'English is not his strongest area yet.' However, we then received a rather abrupt final notice from the school's principal, the esteemed Ms. Melissa Krause. The entire reply read: "Hello, I hope you are well. Thank you for your interest in Courtyard School. We do not have an ESL program so I don't think we would be the best fit for your daughter if she does not have a foundation in English. Thanks" I was quite frankly furious after reading this email, for two main reasons. Firstly, she naively assumed my son's English proficiency was poor. Secondly, throughout our entire email correspondence, we consistently referred to our 'son,' yet she inexplicably mentioned 'your daughter.' My wife, possessing a much calmer temperament than I, still managed to respond politely, even attaching the recent English assessment results from our son's current elementary school. Despite this, we received no further reply. Given these interactions, I am compelled to question the qualifications of the school principal, particularly regarding her reasoning and evident lack of attention to detail. Fortunately, this was the only school we contacted that didn't invite us for an on-site visit.

We noted that their alternate language training was to provide them with a Rosetta Stone account and...well that was it. No follow up or guaranteed exposure in class. Then they moved to the new campus ...and OMG We would here 'Mrs Kim's' voice mails every night on the phone "Good evening Carmichael Parents...I am the good fairy princess..". They have reorganized their parking loops and traffic flows 8-10 times in the time that we have been there. They even began controlling the way you exit the parking lot...yes redirecting traffic on public roads. The administrators cordened off all parking spots for themselves...forcing parents to park a block away if they want to walk there younger child in. They even started making the kids wait in the cold, out in the breezeways until 10 minutes prior to class so that their 'facilitators' had preparation time. Yes...facilitators...not teachers. My daughter was one of 30+ kids in a single class from three different grades, and not one was on the same lesson. The one teacher never had one on one time with her, and very little time to speak to even her grade as a whole. Essentially, the way they have organized it there, is that your kid is in a correspondence course, and with a bit of luck they get a visit from a teacher. They say it works for some.
