I love Rumi's bookstore, been going there for 5 years now for different needs! From head scarfs to modest outfits, Islamic educational and religious books including a huge variety for kids books. They have huge selection of middle eastern nifty decors, incenses and burners, necklaces, earrings, rings and other jewelry. Gelatin free candies, gummies and marshmallows and much more. Customer service has always been great and polite, prices are reasonable. I feel some sort of relief when I go in there, very calm and peaceful Ambiance. read more

Islamic clothing for men and women in all different sizes. Halal Beef Jerky. Plus many more various ethnic items. This is a great place to purchase learning material or gifts for your loved ones. The store is easy to navigate through but if you need help finding something in particular, you can show the sales clerk and he will kindly help you out. So I found this local store to buy the book instead. I was very pleasantly surprised to find not only the book I was looking for but also a few other books, some itr, some decorations for our home and some bukhoor. My first time here today and as I walked in the first thing I noticed was the pleasantly light aroma of the incense in the air. Theres a comforting vibe being in there and with all the varieties in book choices it makes it hard to get out quickly if your intentions were to go in and out. Such an amazing store with caring, hardworking, accommodating staff! There is a wonderful selection of relevant and beautiful items, the prices are very reasonable, and I could easily access the majority of the aisles in my wheelchair, save one. (I could still get to every area of the store, so it didn't matter I couldn't get down one aisle.) There was even a full, concrete ramp into the store which was fantastic. I would highly recommend this shop to all followers of Islam and those curious to learn more or revert/convert. It is a very welcoming, peaceful environment. read more

This is a fun and interesting store. Lots of imported islamic propaganda, islamic jewelry, prayer beads, prayer rugs, islamic oils, etc. I stop by this place every once in awhile to browse the jewelry, prayer rugs, and their framed pictures. There is no other store like this in the bay area that I know of and everything here is really affordable. It's a great store for anyone interested in islamic culture. read more

This bookstore is an excellent resource of Islamic books for the people of Bay Area. We were visiting San Francisco and her environs from Southern California and decided to visit this bookstore in Fremont which I was already aware of via exhibitions and conferences. They carry a very wide selection of books ranging from topics as diverse as aqidah, tasawwuf, seerah and tafsir. Their selection is fairly good and prices more than reasonable. One thing which I found a little strange is that they don't have too many books from Dar Us' Salam publications which is a very reputable publishing house. Nevertheless their selection of books is quiet rich. Not only that they carry a very wide array of Islamic items, decorations, wall hangings and last but not the least, atoor or Middle Eastern oil perfumes. I bought several of these atoor from their selection which seems to be sourced from Madinah Al'Munawwarrah. Some of them are extremely good. Try Pure Paradise, Madinah Mix and Dalia. We ended up buying several items from this store and had a good time browsing their book selection and other merchandise. Definitely a must visit if you're in the Bay Area. As a plus, you can further enrich your time in the East Bay by visiting nearby Afghan restaurants and businesses. read more

I have been to many bookstores around the world and innumerable ones in the US and Rumi Bookstore remains my favorite. They recently expanded and now carry a large collection of clothing, prayer beads, rugs, perfumes (white musk from Madinah is my personal choice), and artwork. But for me, Rumi Bookstore will always be the best source of high quality, authentic Islamic books from the most reliable publishing houses. Seriously, you will find books here that you cannot find in any other local bookstore (Wardah Books in Singapore comes to mind) or even online. The majority of books are priced approximately the same as what you can find online, with a sizable portion being considerably cheaper. The atmosphere is very calm and tranquil, and you will want to browse the shelves for hours. Lastly, the owner is a true gentleman and Rumi expert and is always willing to spend time with you. I find Rumi bookstore to always be a blessed shopping experience. The private owner is very hospitable and attentive to all his customers and truly exemplifies kindness to all his guests. The store itself has a wide range of special gifts ranging from various price ranges and most of the things I receive have been imported from our holy cities. The prices are reasonable the people you engage with are friendly, the quality of texts are enormous and most of all - every time I go in to find a spiritual gift for someone - I leave spiritually more aware than when I originally entered. I highly advise people to even seek things like candle holders or embroidered purses or saffron - things that may not even have a religious context - but are at a good rate and quality work. The best part of it all is the owner is well versed in Rumi poetry so the name even fits the culture of love and mercy. read more
