My girlfriend and I have lived in Rumney Flats for about 2.5 years now and overall we really like it. Pros: Great staff (although they seem to have high turn over). The manager Donna is fantastic. Great and fast maintenance staff. Great apartment interior - we live on the first floor and have high ceilings that make the place feel much bigger than it is, new appliances and finishes, and a good size den (office space for me) and wood flooring in the living area. Close to Boston without being in Boston itself. Located within walking distance to a grocery store and CVS. Movie theater about a 5 minute drive away. Cons: Limited storage space in the unit. Limited on-site amenities, small gym and no pool, only one bench outside (with a grill) which is not an ideal scenario for enjoying sunny days. There is not much green area, although they did recently open a small (emphasis on small) dog park. Parking is not assigned and can really get competitive. The front office is not the best at answering the phones. Limited food options in the area. read more

Lived here from May 2016 to February 2017. Leasing office is very incompetent. Maintenance guy is very incompetent. DO NOT MOVE HERE. Donna, Ernie, John, and Denise all are absolutely atrocious when it comes to anything being handled appropriately. We dealt with their stupidity and bs for nearly 2 years. We moved into the Rumney Flats May 2016. This being my first time of "apartment living", I wasn't sure what to expect. I can honestly say we both feel like we are at home. We love everything about our apartment. The management and maintenance teams at Rumney are always helpful. If there is any type of issue (which there haven't been many), I can call or go onto the app and it's taken care of right away. The app is so helpful. I pay my rent online, put in requests, receive notices when I have a package delivered, etc... The location is awesome....convenient to local shopping which is just a quick walk away and right on the bus line If you decide to live at Rumney, I don't think you will be disappointed. This place should be called Ghetto Flats. For starters, the halls have little maintenance so this means that the walls are stained and the floors are dirty. Also the people that live here are so low class! I literally saw a women changing her babies diaper in the hallway, and the whole staircase smelled like feces. The apartment layout is nice, but the ventilation is horrible. The smell of WEED and food from another apartment lingers around MY apartment. The parking here is HORRIBLE. Management claims that they tow cars at night, but yet you see visitors with no permit parked in your front door, meanwhile I have to park a mile away. Its just horrible here, it is not worth the 2 grand a month... AT ALL. read more

If you value any peace in your life, do NOT rent here. Stay away. Don't let the supposed "luxury" branding and seemingly new appearance fool you. If you visit the property, the management team will seem helpful, but it is all a trap to get you to sign a lease. They do not care about their residents in the slightest, only money. First off, it's exorbitantly expensive. $2300 rent per month, plus an absurd amount for water and sewer (over $100), which I was told was included in the rent. For this price, there is absolutely no reason why I would see dog poop everywhere on the ground, piss stains on the carpet in the hallways, and people smoking constantly by the doors (even though it's a "smoke-free" community). This doesn't even BEGIN to cover the absolute horror of an experience that is Rumney Flats. This is truly the worst apartment I have ever lived in, and I have lived in apartments my entire life. I don't know if it's something about the way it was constructed, but you can hear EVERYTHING from the apartments above you, and I mean everything. For months, we had to put up with near constant noise from the people who lived above us - dragging of furniture, adults stomping around, and children running non-stop. The noise would get so bad that our blinds and our cups in the kitchen cabinets would start trembling. This didn't happen just during the day, which would have been bad enough, but it kept going way past midnight most nights. We reported this to management over and over again. Everyday they claimed they would contact them, send them a letter, and many other completely useless strategies and excuses. Most traumatizing was the fact that the man in that household was an abuser, and we could hear all of it - the hitting, the screaming. The police was called plenty of times, to no avail. We notified the office countless times so they would do something - anything, but of course, nothing was done. We spent months of our lives feeling harassed and constantly on edge in our own homes because of the stampede and abuse above us, and management would ignore our concerns despite me literally begging them for peace. The hell that was dealing with these upstairs neighbors was only exacerbated by the people living on our floor. You would hear children running down the hallway and screaming all the time and people talking loudly at all hours. You could also hear people fighting and screaming, likely even more abusers living on the property. The office did nothing about this either, of course. The fire alarm would go off in the middle of the night way too often, and I lost count of how many times the police would be present in the complex. This is truly a depraved place filled with horrible people, abusers, and chaos. There was no way to feel comfortable living there, especially when the police was there constantly. Every day we lived there, something more surreal and horrible would happen. Not only is the office staff incompetent, they are downright disrespectful. They will dodge your calls if you have an ongoing issue, they will brush off your concerns, and they will downright lie and deceive you. Additionally, the area in which the apartments is located is horrendous. Obviously this is not under the control of the Rumney Flats management, but it is important for those looking to live here. Across the street from the apartments is a disgusting, unkempt corner. My child's bus stop was there, and we witnessed some truly disgusting things littered on the ground - condoms, plastic bottles filled with pee, sex toys, among other horrors. Many times we would pass by and a strong rotting odor would greet us, like something had died in the bushes. The nearby plaza, Northgate, is a complete cesspool, with poop and vomit scattered around. There are no redeeming qualities about living at Rumney Flats - not even the neighborhood. I write this review because I truly do not want anyone to experience this kind of endless torment. I feel like I wasted a year of my family's life because of this place. We are quite literally traumatized from the horrific, never-ending nightmare that is living in Rumney Flats. Uhm - wow. Some serious trolling going on with the 1 star posts. I've lived here for a year and am super happy. My place is modern and well designed with great appliances and a great kitchen layout. The best part, though, is the property management. They are super friendly, responsive, and helpful. When I have packages delivered, they come to my unit and leave them inside my door, since I often arrive home after the office closes. I've had two repair issues that I've had to report via the online system - both of which were my own fault - and the issues were resolved before I returned home on the day of the report. I'd give the Flats, and it's management team, more than 5 stars if I could. read more

Quite, clean, very friendly community and most importantly the staff and management are basically family. I've lived here for almost a year! And I decided to write a review since some people are calling this property ghetto. I always see the guys from maintenance walking the property cleaning up after people that don't know how to throw bags in the dumpster. I've gone to the office and they take all my packages and they can't control what the delivery guys do to the packages. When I come home at night I get a spot with the sticker that I got when I moved in which was included at no additional cost and I see the tow truck come thru the property and take cars that don't belong out of the property. I love that we have a 24 hour fitness center that I can use anytime and a community room with a pool table in it. All the staff in the office are wonderful and I am so glad me and my family live at Rumney Flats :) read more

Everything was wrong from the beginning, I did a walk through with one of the management people and noticed 2 water stains in 2 different windows , asked them if it was going to be fixed before I moved, they said yes and on the day I moved not only the stains were still there I couldn't put my stuff away as all of my cabinets were covered I mean covered with construction dust ! ( I was one of the first people to move here ) OH the toilets had piss spots on the lids and piss in the bowl! I flushed before the picture but I will attach anyways . I ended up doing the cleaning my self, they did end up taking 250$ off my first month , however I have a cleaning business and I know prices .. Also promised a cleaning by someone who works in the building as a cleaner once my stuff was in place . When I contacted the lady instead of accommodating me she started with a list of things she DOESNT DO! Right away I didn't want to stress so I canceled the cleaning, once again NOT how I do business with my clients !! ( I'm an immigrant, English is my second language and I know how to treat people !!) I feel like the office rent theses units for "people they think is dumb and easy to take advantage of" The first week we were here the community room use to be opened by your fob key, I had 4 of my friends with me playing pool and talking around 8 pm and our kids were there too, here comes a trans guy and spits on another ones face while he's siting watching tv !!!!! In front of my kids !!!!!!!! I brought it to their attention and NOTHING was done ! They change rules and don't give us a heads up, I rented the community room for the second time in almost 2 years , the prices have changed since I rented , I wasn't told , next day they put the checks through without telling me about the changes, I paid and over draft fee of 60$ because I didn't make my deposits in time ! All I got was "it was a misunderstanding" then I spent a couple of hours making sure the place was cleaned properly not like other people that trash the building. And I got a bill for 1,800 for a coffee table that looks like it doesn't cost more that 200! I don't believe that table was broken in the party as we only had a few teenagers playing cards and listening to music while the adults gathered around the kitchen area! The office didn't remove any of the decorations as it's stated in the contract, I did that. We would have heard a noise and commotion if it did happen. Even tho they think I'm an easy target to pay for their table , I already started to pay not because I'm stupid but because I was raised to honor my name . Also since I've been in this building my depression got worse , I don't feel safe here , maintenance has walked into my unit with no notice twice before ! I have teenaged sons that have to walk around a building were people drop drugs and alcohol in the hallway ! I missed a day of work because people decided to celebrate 4:20 in the gym and we sat in our cars under the rain with our kids for a long time until the fire department let us back in ... No body is paying for my day right ? I lived for a year under a girl who rode her scooter on top of me !!!! After 100+ complaints they moved once the lease was up ! I know that there are people here that came after me living in a unit exactly like mine for 200+ cheaper , we pay commercial water My washing machine was broken for 3 months they kept saying that they were calling warranty and gave me a key to different units to do my laundry for 3 months .. However my water bill never changed !! Strange right? Washing or not at home I'm still paying same bill amount ! SCAM SCAM SCAM .. DOG SHIT ALL OVER THE PLACE , IT SMELLS LIKE PISS AND WEED !!! And the latest I paid for extra shipping for my sons bday gift and the poor thing waited all day for the email from the office , I called amazon the next day and they told me it was delivered the day before ! Rumney Flats by far the most understanding and welcoming complex. Apartments are spacious and very beautiful. The modern kitchens and high ceilings will truly make you fall inlove with the place. But truly the best thing this complex has is their maintenance and property managers. They are understanding and truly like a little family. I think we all have lived in a place that we were just a unit number but here its completely different. I wish I could have stay longer there but life had other things for me. But definitely wanted to give a shout out to that the Rumney Flats team!!! thank you for everything! read more

DO NOT RENT HERE! Currently trying to get out of my lease. Rent here if you want to have the fire alarms going off at 3 am if you want to live amongst growing piles of dog shit and urine in and outside the building. Ha what a joke with a 48 hour turn around. I cleanup more dog urine from the elevator than waste of my own dog. Break Ins is the new happening at the Flats, doesn't matter our doors were locked. For a gated safe community cameras only cover so much area so God forbid it was a real matter. KEEP LOOKING As management doesnt always respond it's on a free will basis and is NEVER the negligence of their part. Good LUCK apartment hunting.... In the GHETTO is where u live amongst dog feces and urine, trash, blunt rappers, weekend puke fests and riff raff.... I pay $2300 to live in swill and to keep up with clean up....
