I really want to give a minus point if it's possible. The only trick their managers could do is ignore former renter's reasonable request, so I have nothing to hide anymore. One more thing I need to remind you guys is that the 5 stars reviews are published by the pressure of managers by 50 bucks so be careful. Actually my move-in date should be August 15th last year and the real move-in date is September 23rd. That was a miserable time,we take our luggages from place to place searching for short rents because of the 5 times of delay.That really sucks. After I moved in,things are getting a little bit better.The apartments are new and the facilities are okay.But we didn't get our compensation after several hard meetings with the manager which should be all set already but ignored by the managers. The price is going higher and higher and it's totally not worthy to live there. There are tons of apartments which are better than this. This apartment just trick new coming international students and trust me, I've lived there. What's more, good services cannot be the reason to ignore people after they moved out. They didn't return my security deposit after I moved out, even don't return my emails so be careful of the irresponsible managers. After been here for this long, choosing Residence@MaldenCenter is the worst decision I've made because I not only met awful managers but also suffered from serious arrogant and naive&disgusting roommates. I'll never made that mistake ever again. If I can't get my security deposit back, I think it's my obligation to let everyone around here to know, be careful about this apartment. The apartment and services are great so far. Since it was a new bulding, the parking space wasn't 100% satisfactory. When I moved in early July 2018, I was told that the garage I've already paid for was still under construction. I waited for two months parking in the public garage across the street. In September, the garage was finished and I was assigned a parking space which can barely park my car in. I talked to the leasing office and they said they would let me switch when another spot becomes available. read more

THEY DON'T CARE Living here 3 days without heat and electricity. The office let national grid disconnect the electricity service without noticing. However, the heat is included in the lease and they cut off our heat as well. The office told me that they sent a notice to the maintenance around 10 AM on 12/2. In the afternoon around 3pm, the office told me they even text the maintenance, but he did not respond. I waited until 9pm and I used an outlet outside to plug my heater because it was under 62 degree in my unit. On 12/3, they pulled the plug around 7 pm and cut the plug. IT'S FUNNY that they had much time to pull the plug, cut the plug, an Don't even have time to get the heat repaired. read more

No. How about that management was completely wishy-washy on what monies were due and what would be paid for by the apartment... to the point where we ended up paying for things that the apartment said they'd reimburse... And. Then. They. Didn't. Needless to say, I'd warn everyone, with highest gravitas, to seriously reconsider renting from this apartment. You can get bigger apartments, for cheaper rents, in better locations elsewhere. Please read and be careful if you're considering moving to R@MS. We are victims of a bad, and potentially illegal, real estate business practice. My boyfriend and I were planning on moving from Pittsburgh, PA to Malden, MA due to my boyfriend's job promotion last Aug-Sept. The management at Residences @ Malden Station, R@MS, rented out unit 519 to us and agreed on a move-in date for 9/10/14. On 9/8/14, R@MS informed us that the move-in date of 9/10/14 had to be postponed to 9/19/14. They said the unit wasn't ready for move-in because they couldn't obtain the occupancy permit. Apologetically, R@MS agreed to cover up to $250 per night for the hotel expenses, all of the public storage costs, movers expense and free rent for Sept and Oct. Unfortunately, they later informed us on 9/18/14 that our new move-in date of 9/19/14 had be postponed to 9/23/14 because they weren't able to obtain the occupancy permit, again. For this second move-in postponement, management emailed us apologizing for the inconvenience and also agreed to, in an unclear message, provide free rent for Nov and Dec in addition to Sept and Oct. Here's the email: "Dear Residents, We were told this morning we received our Certificate of Occupancy, so I sent you all the move in schedule email. However I later found out, we did not receive our certificate of occupancy and we will not receive it until Monday, September 22nd now. Move-ins will now be Tuesday September 23rd. We are sincerely sorry for this huge inconvenience. We are willing to cover your hotel again or give the rent credit in November and through December if necessary. We will continue to give you a month of free rent for both September and October. We understand if you would like to cancel as always. Again, we apologize for this huge inconvenience...again. We wish we could do something. Luke and Angelica" Their new accommodation of covering the hotel or rent credit in Nov-Dec didnt seem right to us. To make sure there wasn't a typo in this email, we texted for clarification to one of the R@MS managers, Luke: Me: "Sorry to text you so late Luke, but we will start making reservations for an extended stay tonight if we read the email correctly. Is the apt complex going to cover the extend hotel stay and nov&dec rent? Or will the apt complex cover either extended hotel stay or free nov&dec rent? Thanks for your time." Luke: "We'll cover all of it. So sorry. This sucks. :-( " Contrary to what Luke had told us via text, Luke later informed us that won't give us free rent for Nov and Dec, won't cover the movers expense, and failed to cover for our additional hotel food and laundry expenses. The total amount of money we had to pay out of pocket due to R@MS's move-in postponement is about $1200($500 movers, $350 hotel food&laundry, $200-300 additional dining expenses). Had R@MS obtained their occupancy permit for our initially agreed move-in date of 9/10/14, we wouldn't have gone through the ordeal of staying at hotels, using a public storage, dining every day, pay for laundry, hire movers, and having to pay $1200 out of pocket that R@MS is choosing to not cover. What a fucking horrible experience. They have a manager that doesn't read his emails/texts correctly and consistently gives us misinformation. Look elsewhere for better management and non-sketchy business practices. We would hate to have anyone else go through the same shitty , the ABSOLUTE SHITTIEST, experience we've had with these clowns. read more

They are not informed in their policies. They don't allow dogs over 50 lbs and after talking to someone on the phone I told her about my dog and she said he would be fine. Once I came to look at the place they said otherwise. Wasted my time. And the garage smells like garbage. read more

My husband and I moved here in end of February. It's been little over 4 months and so far we love the place! Property manager, Luke is very friendly and helpful! The maintenance guy is also very friendly. Staff here are very nice. The building is kept very clean and organized. Only reason why i left one star out is because of the noise from the neighbors. It is a new building so everything is in new condition, and i'm sure walls are pretty thick... However, you can sometimes hear the next door neighbors or upstairs walking above you. BUT, right when I mentioned that to Luke, he took care of that really well! Overall, we love it here and we will probably want to renew the lease for another year. Crossing our fingers that the rent doesn't go up too much. :) I highly recommend this place and I recommended to few of our friends as well! read more

I moved in in June of 2015. The move in was a breeze. Luke had everything ready even though I came in kind of late since I was driving from Philly. Since then There has been very few issues. I am the first person to live in this particular apartment. Whenever I need maintenance it gets done very quickly (with in a day or two) on anything from changing a light bulb to fixing my dish washer. Since I was the first one to use the dishwasher I found a leak in one of the pipes. I submitted a repair request and emailed Luke and it was fixed the next day. I find the apartment very quite and there are a couple chances through out the year where Luke holds events, usually BBQs in the summer where you get a chance to meet some of your neighbors. The new appliances are very nice and the washer and dryer in unit is a big help. The Location is ideal for those commuting into the city and Malden is starting to get built up so there is now more to do right here. I highly recommend this apartment building for anyone moving to the Boston area. read more

5 stars because this is an excellent apartment complex to live in with reasonable prices, good facilities, caring and prompt management, and a great location. In regards to prior reviews: It seems clear to me how necessary it is that I leave a review as none of the current reviews actually speak to the conditions of *living* in the apartment complex. I, too, went through the frustrating move-in process that occurred between August and late September 2014. When I moved to Boston in August, the apartment was not fully built and for about a month various delays (permits, inspections, etc.) prohibited residents from moving in. I'll admit-- it was frustrating. However, the management fairly compensated all residents whose move in was delayed: they paid for a storage locker, paid for hotel costs (for the entire month of the delay), gave free rent for October and the last week in September, helped compensate me for the costs of having someone watch my dog by comping my pet rent, and even once we moved in and the parking lot was still being constructed, they paid for our car to be held in a covered garage nearby. The management at R@MS did everything in their power to show future residents how sorry they were for the inconvenience and that their business was valued. Anyone reading this review and considering moving in at this point in time will never have to experience this-- the apartment is now built, fully functional, and taking new residents. This drama was a one time thing and I honestly believe nothing like this will ever happen again. About R@MS: I've really enjoyed living at the Residences at Malden Station for the past 6-7 months. I would recommend it to anyone in the area and here's why: -Location: The location is GREAT (it's a stone's throw from the Malden Station T stop on the Orange line) and it's a very quick walk to downtown Malden. I can walk to the grocery store, the library, the local schools, the YMCA, churches, local restaurants and bars (which are delicious, by the way-- check out Habisha, Ferry Street, Mystic Station, All Seasons, Cornucopia). The apartment complex is right across the street from Dunkin Donuts and the train station (commuter rail, local bus, and orange line T). On the orange line it's a 15-20 minute ride and you're in Boston. The neighborhood is up and coming and I've never felt unsafe walking around. Living in Malden is the perfect balance of suburb and city. I have access to downtown, plenty of shops/restaurants, but the neighborhood isn't all bustle-- it feels like home. -Amenities: Apartment complex is pet-friendly. Washer/Dryer in unit. The apartment covers the cost of heat. Brand new appliances-- microwave, fridge, oven-- and beautiful granite counter tops. Gym in the building-- it's not huge, but there are free weights, five cardio machines, a cable machine, and a few other machines. There's a social/recreation room with a fireplace, couches, kitchen, and large tables that can be reserved. My only criticism is that this room is not kept open all the time and that it is closed two days before and two days after it is rented out, I believe. For this reason I've found it to be somewhat inaccessible unless reserved, but the option is available. Parking is available right behind the complex for a small fee, but the convenience is absolutely worth it. The building is very secure-- there are entry codes for access at all entrances and surveillance cameras. -Management: Luke, the property manager, is a really nice guy. He has gone out of his way to make everyone feel at home and remind residents how grateful he is that they live at R@MS. He's far from removed from the complex-- I see him around nearly every day and when I do he greets me (by name) and offers a smile and a wave. Any time that I have had a complaint (e.g. at one point there was a noisy sign outside my window) he's been quick to respond and address the issue immediately. Similarly, Tuan, the maintenance manager, is quick to fix anything that is wrong and has worked overtime this winter clearly the parking lot and sidewalks. -Cost: Rental rates are what you would expect for a nice apartment near the Boston area. I hope the prices do not change as right now they are exactly in my price range! Parking is $50 for an uncovered spot (which is a steal compared to the cost of parking elsewhere). There are pet fees each month, as well. -Misc: The apartment building is quiet. It smells nice and there are no bugs (a big deal for me). It's always clean and the other residents are pleasant. OVERALL: Very satisfied with R@MS since moving in and I would encourage anyone who is looking for an apartment in the Boston/Malden area to give R@MS a shot. I don't typically leave reviews, but my experience here had caused significant distress, during my first month in Boston, and I would give negative stars if Yelp had such an option. In short, Corcoran Jennison is a management company that cannot be trusted and you should avoid at all costs. DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT. There are a few apartment buildings equally close to the Malden T stop, there is no reason to rent there. My experience was very similar to Sothy P.'s, moving from out-of-town for a Sep 1 move-in. They were repeatedly misleading with respect to move-in dates and reimbursements for the costs (accommodation in Sept and furniture storage, over $2000) unfairly incurred on my end, each time with less than a day's notice. The move-in dates were delayed 3 times in total. Of course, I was never reimbursed for any of the costs, they merely said it to hold us hostage, so that we would consider waiting for them after being treated so horrendously. On hindsight, they never committed to signing a lease, probably because they knew of the delays beforehand but didn't let us know. I was repeatedly asked to bring the paper work on move-in date which shifted 3 times, from Sep 1, to Sep 5 to Sep 19. The actual move-in was Sep 23. read more

We moved into our unit at R@MS in November of 2014. Being a newly built complex, there were bound to be issues with time estimates and other setbacks. Apparently some of the units were still undergoing inspection and final touches; ours was one of them. It was definitely a rocky start, an outlet had some issues and kept tripping the breaker, but once we submitted a work order, it was fixed within a day. Some of the molding was not complete in the kitchen, but that did not affect any structural or safety issues. They took care of it as we were moving our furniture in. Tuan, the maintenance supervisor, is a chill guy who at the time was already fully knowledgeable about the units and answered our questions in addition to explaining how some of the more high tech appliances worked. (The bathroom vent is extremely quiet and people might be confused about it not working.) Once the dust settled (quite literally), things started looking really good. The property manager Luke definitely puts in a lot of work to make this a safe and enjoyable place to live. We've had several social events for the complex in the club room, where we can reserve and host private events as well. This is an amazing smoke-free complex and they make it a point to enforce it. As someone who suffered from asthma and is extremely sensitive to second-hand smoke, this is a true blessing. There are so many places out there who don't really take their own rules seriously and focus on profits (it's expensive to have tenants move in and out). These guys here...definitely take great pride in how they take care of their residents. read more

Due to the inevitable policy barriers, we delayed move into this apartment; my roommates (couples) and I have to live in Hotel for several days, Apartment managers covered all the fees for our hotel (two rooms). Public storage and they provide free rent for two months. When I moved in, I found everything here was outstanding than other apts in Malden. 24 hours gym, free club room. The attitude of managers were kindly. Especially for me, who is a foreign students here. In order to overcome the communication barriers, Luke (the manager) did many works with me. We talked and emailed a lot for solving some problems with utilities. He had a professional and positive attitude. read more

Location is on point - only a few steps from the T, restaurants are near by and Pleasant street has a lot of opportunity for new restaurants and businesses in the future. I had to admit that move-in process is very dramatic as my move-in date got pushed back a few times. After that , living at Residents @Malden station became more enjoyable. The building is new and beautiful with onsite gym, club room and maintenance. The T stop is just minutes away. Very convenient to go to downtown Boston. The property manager Luke is very nice, flexible and patient. He would reply my message very quick even during the weekend. Hello, I had moved in here during the month of April 2015 - I was new to Boston and had looked around a few places in the month of March but was convinced of this one because it was brand new apartment complex and was very near to the T with frequent connections to downtown Boston. I had showered once without a curtain and there was water on the floor - I did not do that intentionally but because I had very short time to move from my hotel to the apartment, I just picked whatever I could from the store for the initial setup of the apartment and I thought I could take time to buy the rest. It so happened, or probably my luck that the guy that lives downstairs shows up just after I was done with my bath banging at my door and he comes in to check out if there was water leak from my apartment. I let him in, he comes in and observes and the next thing I know I get an email from the apartment manager that I am responsible for the leak because I was showering without the curtain and hence I am supposed to bear the expenses for the damages to the apartment to the tune of thousands of dollars. I was not sure about what was my liability to this was and I did not have anyone to consult with since I was really new to Boston and had no support system in this place or friends to call for help with. Then I installed the curtain, waited patiently to hear from the management as to the complete extent of the damage and I continued to shower. The water leakage continued to happen downstairs and now they were not sure what was the cause since there was no water spilled on the floor. This lead them to investigate further only to understand that the real issue was with the pipes and one of the pipes had been leaking since I was the first one to use them after moving in. It was fixed and things were OK - but I could not forget the time when I was going thru this agonizing time as to whether I could be held accountable for a problem that I was not the reason for and not be able to fight it and eventually pay up for all the expenses the resident downstairs claimed. It was also unreasonable for the management to come to this quick conclusion to blame it immediately on the thing at site without further investigating the problem. During the course that this issue was fixed, the maintenance folks and the plumbing people kept entering my apartment without even providing adequate notice prior that they would be entering and this kept happening for weeks. They had to tear down the wall in my closet to fix the pipe that was running below it and they did not even care to vacuum the closet after the issue was fixed and the wall was pasted again. There was dust deposited on my clothing and luggages that were in my closet that I had to later clean up. Apart from the above plumbing issue I had one other issue with the washer and dryer which they took way too long to address and I had to literally go without laundry for two weeks in a row. The washer would rattle and literally jump out of the closet that it was in and nobody knew what the fix was - it would thunder all the way out of the closet and it was painful for me to even think about laundry. After two months of going thru this and a temporary fix in between, finally there was a permanent solution to this. Mine could be a one off case and may not happen to you, but watch out for a management that jumps to quick conclusions and does not give you the benefit of the doubt. The rest of what I LIKE about the place is that: Ordering online the stuff is delivered to the mail room which can be just simply wheeled to the apartment unlike other facilities that I have seen, and when you reach home it is only peace and quiet - you will not be able to hear your neighbor from next door which happens in other facilities and that is a big plus. read more

I haven't actually lived here - cost on my own proved too much, and studios are very small, so I opted for something further from T with a bit more space and less luxury. But process of visiting place and interacting with Luke were wonderful. He was kind and helpful and patient, and everything about the place (the general units, the gym, etc.) seemed beautiful.
