Beware when paying online you will be charged a $2.95 processing fee. I usually send a check but with all the holiday mail thought online was faster. So when notifying Rumpke about being unhappy with the fee they cancelled my whole payment and said mail in payment. Of course they could have just refunded the fee and took the payment. So now they will have to deal with the mail delay TA DA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also notified my city mayor & clerk to let citizens know. Not sure why a large company uses a process the charges this fee. read more

Our recycling is consistently not picked up and when I contact Rumpke they recommend leaving it out and someone will come within 24-48 hours however we have never had this actually happen. We have had to take our own recycling to a location multiple times this year to pay for drop off as we are consistently missed for multiple weeks at a time. read more

its a good company but like most they keep bad help. This is one very small problem of many(and I mean many). the bad part is if you call and complain they dig for any reason to justify bad service. Instead of dealing with the guy that leaves trash and seams to go out of his way to leave a mess they make excuses. If I could give them a -star rating I would. We are now on week 3 of no recycle pick up. We found out that our trash is picked up through the Cincinnati office and our recycles are picked up through the Dayton office which comes to Beavercreek only once a week. Why the split - don't know. We had Rumpke in Washington Twp and were reasonably happy. We have moved to Beavercreek, a new development, and our trash is picked up with no problem but the recycles are a different story. They say they will come out to pick up the missed pickup but don't. About ready to dump them and go with another service - hopefully one that will provide the service we are paying for. DO NOT use Rumpke! read more

I've used Rumpke for many years. I've never had an issue or problem with them in over 30 years. If I had an question on my bill, a quick phone call with them solved the problem. If I wasn't sure how to get rid of larger items, I would just call and they were able to inform me what to do. Their customer service is really good. I would highly recommend Rumpke for waste removal and recycling. read more

Once again my trash wasn't picked up. My bin is completely full and I have nowhere to put trash for the next week until our next pickup day. Horrible customer service. They insist on collecting trash in neighborhood between 2AM and 4AM. They are loud and wake people up with service at these unreasonable times. Rumple did not take an area rug we put out curbside. I called to find out how to arrange pickup...figured it was a special truck or something. Nope. Whether area rug or ripped out wall to wall, you have to CUT UP THE CARPET yourself and tie it into 4 foot by 2 foot rolls. No other options offered. Ridiculous. What if I couldn't afford the saw and mask this is going to require...what if I were not capable of the physical effort this will require? Companies with a monopoly on a necessary service can and should do better. read more

Up and until today (2/5/2021) I would have given Rumpke a 5. On 2/2/2021 Rumpke was to pick up my TRASH (2/2/21, Tuesday, regular pickup day). They were informed that there would be a large item (dishwasher) which was among garbage cans sitting on the curb. I understand that there may have been too much garbage but they picked up NO GARBAGE NOT EVEN THE DISHWASHER. Called numerous times and was told that within 48 hours trash would be removed...it was not. Thus: For the week end (2/6-2/7) my trash will remain outside my house (...not the best impression) & Rumpke is deserving of my great dissatisfaction & Rumpke is deserving of the 1 star. read more

$74 per quarter for a single person! I have around 1 kitchen bag each week, not an overflowing trash can of diapers and pizza boxes for a family of 6. When I called to cancel the service, the employee kept saying she could save me $11 per quarter if they didn't supply a "cord". I had to ask her 3 times what a cord was. It's how she pronounced "cart". Maybe Rumpke should hire people from India instead of hillbillies so you can understand their English. When I tried to have Rumpke pick up their cart (not cord), they refused to walk 30 feet up my drive to retrieve it from outside of the garage door. The employee told me their trash collectors could only walk 5 feet to get the "cord". Yes, they could only walk FIVE you can't charge me unless you take me to court. Try it.f'ing feet! She said I had to keep it at the end of my driveway for up to 2 weeks until they pick it up or they would charge me. Service was mediocre. They didn't offer curbside recycling. Well Rumpke, if you can't walk 30 feet to get your "cord", New trash service is only charging me $48 per quarter. Still high but at least their employees aren't hillbillies and I can understand their English! read more

One star too many. I moved to my location in August. I ordered recycling and was told of the schedule. I have been fighting with you since October, as you have only picked up my recycling once. My mom was calling and ended up passing away January 23rd. I am now ok enough to start back. I have asked for a refund and was told back in January that a manager would be driving with the worker and would call back. ITS MARCH!!!! No call! No pick up! I want refunded for all the months that I paid for service and I will be contacting Chanel 9, the BBB, and the IG. I'm done with your recycling! Bad business, no follow through. Rumpke has a great system set up for Cincinnati's recycling program. It's actually more advance and probably recycles more in the end than some major cities do! Their website is really helpful in describing the process and what can and can't be recycled. A lot of places recycling only comes once every two weeks, but here they manage to do it weekly. There is a separate truck for recycling and all recyclables get tossed into it together. I recently learned that they don't sort until it all gets back to the facilities. So no need to sort it yourselves, just toss it into the bin all together! At the plant it's sorted and checked for quality control and then recycled. They only recycle type 1 and 2 plastics so make sure you are checking what you put into the bin. I also learned something new the other day, throw away the caps to things! Apparently it's a different type of plastic and can't be recycled! read more

Although I live on the Kentucky side, I discovered Rumpke Recycling is the way to go! The little town of Dayton does not have curbside recycling, so first I separated our plastics, paper, glass and hauled our items to place in Newport. As I recall, however, there is something missing at that particular recycle drop off in Newport (paper or one other item). Anyway, when I discovered I could drive just into Ohio and used "single-stream" recycling, I've never looked back! Go Rumpke! read more

In the last 6-7 months, Rumpke neglected to pick up my recycling 4 times when everyone else on the street had theirs picked up. The first question was if I had anything it the cart that they won't pick up...nope. It was only clean cardboard and bottles. They promised to have it picked up within 24-48 hours and it is now over 60 hours and it is still not picked up. I said at this point, the number of times they missed my pick up justifies a month credit off my bill. Customer service said they are not allowed to do that! This is the worst garbage collection company I have every experienced. I think I will be changing to another service (at least I have a choice). read more

Rumpke has failed to pick up my trash for 3 weeks in a row . When I call to complain, they say that they will send a special pickup person that handles missed collections within 24 to 48 hours this is a lie. They will take your money but will not give you any service. read more

i ordered a dumpster over the phone, and was told i needed 30Lx12Wx25H to drop it at my house. i have almost 3 times the recommended space to put the dumpster, but he told me he didn't want to try to drop it because he didn't have to space (he didn't even make one attempt to drop it) just said nope can't do it and took off. i then called them back and told them i have another house down the street and he could drop it off there and i could move the material. the dispatcher told me since he had already left the house i would be charged the dry run fee. if you need a dumpster go with WM or another co. rumpke charged me 100 dry run fee when i had 3 time the space they said i needed to drop the dumpster. read more

Per my knowledge, "one star" means I "hated" the service of this company, which is correct. Complete waste of time and frustrating. I have lived in Crescent Springs for three months and had the Rumpke recycling service for the duration of this time. During this three months my recycling has not been picked up three times. Two times I called the company and in short, there was a breakdown between Accounts (which showed I was paying) and the production division of the company, which showed I was not paying. On the first occasion I had to bring my recycling back into my garage. The second time my recycling wasn't picked up I called (and please note, the gentleman I spoke to in Accounts was service oriented and helpful) I requested the truck be sent back to pick up my recycling, which was done. This morning the vehicle came 4 hours earlier than usual (note: four HOURS earlier than any other week in the past three months), and thus half of the people on my road who leave very early managed to get their recycling picked up and the rest did not. So once again, my recycling has not been picked up and I am not having to bring it back into my garage. Very disappointing service. I am moving to a new neighborhood and will not be using Rumpke. read more
