For those who dont want to read...the end product agreed upon is fantastic and very well built...I…read morewould even go as far as to say overbuilt...which is good. I truly dont think you will find a better product in the Wilmington area....they truly build great decks....for those that want to read....I will take you thru our process..... If you want a quick turnaround on your deck, dont count on it, it will take several months. They are busy. Process- Salesman arrives in March...he is fantastic and helps us solve a couple of issues we had concerns with...two other companies did not. He explained procedure....10% down, if you cancel you lose half of your deposit...40% when they start and balance of 50% when project completed. You will have to submit plans to HOA for approval, they will take care of all the other permits...very convenient. We had our down payment in by the end of March and were put in Que...we were told the completion date would be mid June to late June.....their price was higher than the other two quotes....significantly, however; the product and design offered is far superior...pay the money, you wont be sorry. No communication from the end of March forward until I contacted them during the first week of June to ask about start dates....I was told they were waiting on permits...so I checked on line...its public information...our permits were not put in until May 31st....this delayed the build...the project started around July 17th and was completed on August 2nd. I feel the permits could of gone in much sooner to keep on schedule. There were a couple of hiccups during the build that we caught before they became a major issue...I would highly recommend you be home for the build to insure it is how you envisioned the project. These minor issues were solved easily and without concern, but if they were not caught before/during construction could of been an issue. One of the issues was a change we made after agreeing to a certain build height of the pergola, but while watching it being built realized it was to low...they raised it, no problem. The other was a cosmetic design that was sold to us but was not conveyed to the contractor....this was also caught early and rectified. The last was the underpinning...we thought it was included with the build because the deck was two levels and found out at the end it was not. They gave us a very fair price to add it on and completed it without hassle. They also gave us a price to have the pergola painted once it has time to weather. All of the Owners/team members I had contact with were easy to deal with....Glenn, Mark, Dino and Josue were fantastic. The deck is awesome, constructed extremely well and in the end thats what matters....I would chose them again without question.

We absolutely adore our new home!  Our original home was built in 1983, but thanks to Essence of…read moredesign it looks and feels like a brand new dream home.  Essence of design expanded our entire house including the bedrooms, baths and closets.  They also added a half bath, his and her closets, mud room and back porch.  They also enclosed and extended our garage to incorporate a workspace and storage room. We replaced the plumbing, electrical, HVAC and added a fortified roof. The kitchen is amazing!  Infinity Cabinets replaced all our cabinets and they are all slow close.  We have a fancy coffee cabinet to hide our coffee maker and my favorite is the secret spice and cooking utensil cabinets.  The quartz countertops are the main attraction which are featured on a huge island that has hidden storage cabinets.  We worked with Wilmington appliance for all our kitchen appliances and Ferguson for our lighting and bath fixtures.  They were all wonderful!  The tile contractor also did amazing work.   Special thanks to many individuals at Essence, but especially Mike who did it all!  He specially designed and crafted the cabinets in our mud room and custom design our his and her closets.  Also thanks to Cassie who kept everyone organized.  Also thanks to some or our favorite people who helped all of this come to fruition - Eddie, Jay, Steve, Chrissy and Brian.  Also, thank you for being so kind to us and our overly friendly dog, Winston. RGR replaced a pretty complex roof for us on our oceanfront home. The roof is a low slope roof and is metal framed and welded to the metal frame of the actual home. We initially spoke with Elliot Rue and from the first conversation, we could tell this company focuses on quality detailed work not just turning a job. Both the owner, Greg, and Greg Ford met us at the house to go over the specifics of the job and the logistics of moving and storing materials on the barrier island. We were kept in the loop throughout the process and we sent many pictures during installation. Pelaez Renovations responded the next day and came to the house on Saturday, July 20. I had an estimate later that day and work was scheduled for the following Saturday. The other two firms never responded at all. I was responsible for materials and had already purchased several decorative tiles. Juan Pelaez sent me photos and descriptions of exactly what additional tiles, mastic, grout and caulk I needed. Today, July 27, Juan and his helper arrived at the house at 8:00 AM. Five hours later the job was finished. Juan was meticulous and precise in his work and was careful to clean up afterwards. This was a small job, only 12.5 SF. It looks great and the total cost was just over $800, 30 percent of which was the decorative tile.
