Since last year, I have wanted to try on Hoka sneakers but was too busy with other things to make time for it. Several of my friends told me how much they loved theirs. Finally, today, we made time to go to Runner's Depot at the Aventura Mall. When we arrived, the place was packed with customers trying on Hoka and New Balance and Ascics. All the salesmen were busy. We waited for a while patiently, and then Rafael came up to us and asked if he could help us. By then, my daughter decided to get a couple of pairs for herself also. Rafael explained the Fitting Process to try on the shoes, and we had to stand on the Foot Disc to measure our arches. He then knew what type of shoe would be best for us. He brought out several styles. The best style for her was the Hoka Bondi, and for me, the Hoka Gaviota 5. Rafael is an expert fitter. We were so glad that he was helping us both to find the right shoes for our travels and the walking that is entailed. He was patient and understanding. I highly recommend that you ask for him if you visit this store. The store is nicely organized, and they have a good selection. They also sell athletic wear, socks, caps, sandals, shirts, and runner gear. If they are out of stock of the shoe you want, they will order it and have it sent to your home. But first, they will fit you to make sure that the shoe is the right size and fit. I really like that they do this for the customer. I ordered 2 extra colors that will be shipped to me and walked out with the ones I tried on. My daughter did the same. They will arrive in 5-7 days. I felt like I was walking on a cloud, seriously. You will spend some money for quality, but to get rid of foot pain, it is worth it! Runner's Depot is located at the Aventura Mall inside the mall by Macy's on the second floor. You can reach it by escalator or elevator. They were quick to take my money, but who on earth would buy shoes knowing they could not be returned after a day of wear?! The size of this store is much, much smaller compared to their other locations. So of course that means there is less selection of shoes. I looked around and it did not take long to figure out they did not have anything I was interested in. I asked when or if they would be getting new stock in and was told, "Check our website". I do not like to purchase shoes onlune, especially sneakers. I need to try them on and take a few steps to see if I like them. The employee had a real carefree attitude in that he did not seem to care about his job or helping a customer. What I can say that is poaitive is theybseem to have a great men's shoe selection. That did not help me but hopefully will help someone out there. They have a unique selection of socks so that is something I will keep in mind for future needs. Amazing experience. If you're a runner this is the place for you. The measure your arch, foot, and do a walking test to recommend the perfect fit. I ran 9 miles and felt amazing in the pair of Brookes they suggested. It's hard for me to find good running shoes since I have wide feet and a high arch. However, i just can't with this experience and believe others should know. 2-3 months ago i purchased this pair of brooks, $125. I've always had a good experience with Brooks, but this is my first time purchasing from a vendor and oh, how i should have just stayed with purchasing from Brooks directly. As you see in the photographs, the shoes have become defective and as an active runner, I wanted to resolve the issue before the problem gets progressively worse. Let's be Honest. Yelp = Food...... Good Food. It exposes you to new places constantly. I have not paced myself. Hit every food truck and ROTD (review of the day) the last few months. But skipped those great local Parks and Trails. If you are looking for running shoes, this is a good option in the Aventura area. I was going to head to Runner's High down south but opted for something closer to home. Checked Yelp and walked in for a Fitting. Small shop with great knowledgeable staff. After few questions (level of running, price range) I did a fitting and a ran on a treadmill. My foot, arch and ground contact were analyzed and the info recorded and stored. For my next pair they will simply pull up the info and send me on my way. Good place. Note: I wore them to the second gathering of BTTR (Weekly Tuesday night Food Truck gathering on 109th and Biscayne).... not the initial intent for my new running shoes.... but hell of a good way to break them in! read more

Training for a half marathon got me hooked on running as well as started on a constant quest for the right gear. I've faced many obstacles in my training but I'm convinced that with the right gear I can accomplish anything. Thus began my journey to Runners Depot. One of many problems involved serious ugly nasty blisters. Research dictated getting different socks. I heard that Runners Depot carried Balaga socks that were a must have according to other runners. I called them up and said "I got a weird question. What brand socks do you carry?" Reply "That's not a weird question at all." And then the guy proceeded to recite all the brands. They carried Balaga. yay. Upon arrival I was greeted by two VERY HELPFUL folks. My request for socks turned into a long discussion of all my problems and some bonding with the sales lady who suffered from some of the same ailments. As an insane person addicted to running, it felt good to talk to someone else who shared my insanity and who was earnestly interested in helping me find a solution. I found my socks and was directed to the Davie location because they didn't have the item I needed in stock. They had called the Davie location for me to put it on hold as it was only about 15 minutes away. For a serious runner this place is great. The sales people & owner love the sport and love helping others. They watched me walk to check out my biomechanics and recommended certain brands of shoes for my next pair. Having gone to the Davie location, I noticed that the Aventura location has less of a selection but most of what you will probably need -- shoes, clothes, accessories and energy foods. This is definitely going to be one of my must-go to places for gear & advice! read more

After braving torrential downpours and an unsuccessful venture to a more centralized running shoe store, we headed up to the Runners Depot in Aventura. My friend and I were both in the market for new running shoes, and my friend had some specifics in mind, so we called to make sure they carried the brand she was looking for (Brooks). Located in the Promenade Shops just north of Aventura Mall, this place can be a little tricky to find. After driving through the entire shopping plaza, we ended up calling again to get the exact location, and the lady (the owner, perhaps?) was more than helpful. When we finally arrived, she asked if we were the ones who'd just called. And then she proceeded to help us. By the time we got there, I'd decided I didn't really need running shoes right then and there. But my friend was still gung-ho, and the sales lady had her walk in front of her to see her step, and then recommended shoes from there. All told, we were in and out in about 15 minutes, and my friend got a spanking-new pair of Adidas running shoes, for a reasonable price. The other sales associate was helping a marathon-runner get outfitted with new gear, and we all learned that running shoes have a mileage, meaning they pretty much are done after going a certain number of miles. Good to know! I will definitely hit up Runners Depot when it's time for me to upgrade my running shoes. It's definitely worth the trip to Aventura! read more

Barry at Runner's Depot is one of the most expert shoe fitters I have ever experienced. I can't believe I used to just go to the mall and pick out whatever looked cool. Barry (or Andrea or whoever is working there) will check your stride, your gate, your arch, your pronation, and your overall foot type and match you to the shoe that is right for you. Though the store may be busy at times (and at other times slow) they will take their time explaining your foot and having you try on every appropriate shoe until you find the perfect match. And because they have several stores nearby- if this location doesn't have the exact style, size, or fit that you would like, they can usually have the right one delivered the very next day. Bottom line: I found my way to Runner's Depot because my old running shoes (which were not right for my type of foot- out of my own ignorance) caused a big problem for me. Gain from my experience- for the exact same price (or less) as the Nikes you were going to buy at Foot Locker (Runner's Depots do also sell Nike's), have Barry and Andrea do a complete foot analysis and save yourself the damage, doctor's bills, and down-time, and rehabilitation. I went to running stores in L.A., Niketown, and this is the ONLY running store where I am completely confident that they know what they're doing. Barry used to work in a lab making orthotics and may know more about the human foot than some podiatrists I've talked to (although I'm sure he would tell me that I'm over-crediting him). Oh yeah, and my Asics Cumulus 11's look damn sweet, too. Thanks Barry, and thank you Runner's Depot! ----------------------- Additional info: they also have a pain center filled with support straps, heel cups, and orthotic stuff. They also sell a nice selection of sunglasses, socks, clothing etc. Also, the price of my sneakers on the Internet was $95 delivered, the price in the store was $99- $4 more, but at the store you get to run in the sneakers on the treadmill or outside. Florida, run by friendly staff and very knowledgeable about the products they carry. They carry several of the most prominent shoes in the industry, a wide variety of clothing and other gear, as well as energy tablets, and other endurance supplements. They also mark down their older inventory and closeouts, so you can find good deals comparable to bargain online outlets, with the added benefit of seeing the shoe, trying it on, before you buy it. Many of the staff are Pedorthists, and they do offer Personal Fitting to ensure proper shoe selection. Overall, a very nice shop, friendly staff and willing to go the extra mile to earn your business. This Runners depot is is the same as the one in Davie. Extensive selection, good pricing, well trained staff, and adept to a runners needs. The reason to choose this runners depot over the other is simple. The manager is the best! I have worked with him a couple times, he is personable, knowledgable and patient with every one who comes through the door. He runs races, will remember you and most of the races you have run, will never try to sell you a shoe based on price, and he will not let you leave without trying out the shoes you are buying, even if you are buying the exact same brand and series. Bring in your old running shoes so he can examine the wear pattern, and be ready to be put in the best running shoes of your life. read more

Best customer service you will ever receive in a store: hands down. I went here last Sunday to purchase a new pair of running shoes. They asked me to walk around and then run on the treadmill. Prescribed the perfect neutral shoes for me, which I tried on and bought. The whole time, the guy was super patient, keeping me informed on availability, prices and return policy. I noticed the team members work well together, asking each other for help; there's no competition between them. So I bought those shoes, brought them home. Tried them on the next morning and they felt tight. Took them back and no questions asked, I was able to swap them out for another pair, which they had to special order for me from their supplier. In fact, they ordered two different sizes of two different shoes just so I could see which of the two I prefer. Folks, THIS is customer service. Yes, you pay a few more bucks for it, but the piece of mind is worth every penny. read more

I went to Runners Depot to get fitted for running sneakers. I was recommended by two friend's who'd been there and gotten great service. Sean (sales) had me do a walking test and recommended the best sneakers for my step and knee support. He was very good, but I wish he would have been a little more attentive; he started taking care of another customer before being finished with me. All good though, he was still fairly attentive and gave me the best advice on shoes and races. Diana (manager?) was a little more attentive and very friendly (as was Sean). They're really only getting 4 stars instead of 5 b/c I would have liked to have seen a larger selection of colors on the sneakers they had. I prefer to get Nike sneakers and the only had two options for stability, and the colors were limited. But in all - the service was great, and they have a nice selection of running/excercise stuff. I came here when I needed to get some new running shoes and had a wonderful experience. The staff was knowledgable and took the time to do a proper shoe fitting. The customer service was awesome, the guy helping me out was not overbearing or pushy. I thought that they had a nice variety of different options to choose from. In addition to footwear, they have workout clothes, foam rollers, gps watches/heart rate monitors and all the accessories you need for an upcoming race. I am extremely disappointed. While I am trying to support our local business's what this store did is unacceptable. Having ordered 2 pair of running shoes at the Coral Springs location I was asked if they could be sent to the aventura location. I made sure to ask if I could receive a full refund back to my credit card should these shoes not work and was told emphatically "yes - a full refund to your card". I do have difficulty finding the right shoes and would never have purchased here if I wouldn't be able to return them. I picked up the shoes, and they were nice enough to bring them to my car as it is COVID. Unfortunately they were not right for me - didn't fit. I proceeded to return them and was given an extremely hard time by the employee at the aventura location, josh. He made this transaction extremely difficult. After an hour of waiting and calls back and forth to whom I was told was the owner, I was told they would give a refund but take $20 off for a restock fee. This is just completely unacceptable. Runner's Depot has awful customer service. I will never shop here again and will not recommend this store to anyone. Do not shop here - order on line. read more

I am a runner that lives in New Jersey and Colorado. (Two states full of great running stores.) I was looking for something comparable to places like the Runners Roost (Colorado) and Tom Flemings Running Room (NJ) and found it at Runners Depot. I went to two other places that will remain nameless. I found that the Runners Depot staff is not only knowledgeable they are actually runners. They don't just sale you a sneaker, they make sure that the sneaker you are getting is correct for the type of runner. The other two stores did an average job at that but I think they are use to a clientele that likes to look like a runner and not actually run. Perhaps that is why they try to sale you the shoe. If you are in Miami and you want to a REAL running store than go to Runners Depot. read more

While it is true that better prices may be found online (as another reviewer commented), the customer service provided makes it worth it to shop there. I would highly recommend going there to get properly fitted for running shoes, or any other running needs. Similar to many other running stores, you can never truly "return" an item for a refund in the form of payment that you used. However, you can either exchange it for something else, or take a store credit within 30 days, which is a pretty common policy. They want you to be happy, so I think that's a pretty fair policy.
