This review is specific to the Broadmoor location.... We have been coming to the Broadmoor for 30 years, and always enjoy the unique and exclusive shopping options on property. This Rutledge's, however, needs to improve. The clients who shop at the Broadmoor are not looking for obnoxious men's shirts bearing bottles of tequila or large, colorful parrots. The few classy shirts that they DO have, you have to luck out to find your size. My suggestions?...get rid of the obnoxious prints, focus on having more sizes of the classy shirts (more men wear XL and XXL in Robert Graham than you think!), and bring in some classy, simple dinner jackets and shoes, which would cater to the clientele at this location. No need for the token few women's items, either. They have their own fantastic store on property. Men like having their own as well. Finally, kudos to their employee! Can't remember her name, but she is always friendly, very helpful, and never pushy. We appreciate that in an employee! We want to see this store stay open, but if they don't make some stock changes, we sadly won't be shopping there anymore, and I fear for their survival. read more

Let's put it this way: I live in Dallas Texas and (gladly) travel here for all my clothing purchases. Jerry Rutledge is a true professional; the kind of person that will give you all the personal time you need to make your selections. He will see that each purchase is tailored to your individual needs. The shirts are custom made after you have made your selection from hundreds of fabric samples and the best part is they only cost a bit more than "off-the-shelf" shirts at the mall. A full selection of various slacks, belts, ties, and shoes is also available. I go in, get measured, make my choices and wait for the boxes to be delivered (back in Dallas) by UPS. Couldn't be easier! As a bonus, you are treated as a gentlemen here. There are no uninformed sales clerks, no unattended kids running in and out of the dressing rooms, no high pressure -- or no "no pressure at all!" I will be making my annual trek to Rutledge's soon to check out the latest styles in fine men's clothing. read more

I became aware of Rutledges when we were shopping for higher-end dress shirts. Initially, we were iffy, as the selection seemed a bit too trendy. "Greg Brady" shirts were in fashion at the time, with paisley patterns and designs reminiscent of the 70s. And the prices were high. Like, high. The store manager, though, mentioned that, at those price points, we could get exactly what we wanted in custom-made shirts. We took that plunge and ordered custom shirts that were a perfect fit, and far superior than anything that would've come off a rack. Again, not cheap, but not unreasonably priced given the custom nature of the work. read more

I worked downtown for years as a teen and I would walk by this custom menswear store and think that is what success looks like. Last week was the very first time I walked in and those thoughts as a teen were right on the money. The staff is very friendly, helpful and professional. I felt like I was the only one in the store. I only bought a shirt and a pair of socks but I was treated like I spent a thousand dollars. They even offer free tailoring for anything you but there. read more
