I already had a referral to go and see a GI doc, but thanks to his probing about my chronic GI issues he had the doc do two tests instead of the one that they had initially suggested. Thanks to his thorough discussion and ordering of additional tests they were able to finally figure out and treat an issue that I had been experiencing for years! I finally felt listened to as a patient. I found this refreshing and encouraging. Perscriptions requests from patients or pharmacies are often not addressed on a timely basis, but according to his office it's always the pharmacies fault. On a recent visit when I indicated I was having ongoing pain in my left knee the doctor told me it was a combination of old age and that i was doing too much yoga. A trip to Immediate Care led to a diagnosis of a torn miniscus. Prior to that the doctor ordered a CT scan. Proper paperwork was not filed with BCBS at that time. Now because he's changed practices, they cannot refile the claim, so I have to pay the bill. I would schedule his first appointment on Saturday to get in and out quickly, but he always ran at least 5 - 10 minutes late - no respect for others time. Do yourself a favor and find another doctor.

I was recommended to Dr. H by a friend, so I went t online and was able to book an appt for the next day. Dr. Hayes met with me and took the time to listen and dig in to my records. He followed up several times when I alerted him I was feeling worse. He took the time to attempt to recover some recent blood work I had done with another doctor and a chest X-ray I had at Urgent Care a month or so prior. He reviewed all and determined the PA at Urgent Care misdiagnosed my symptoms. He put me on correct meds and within a few days, I started feeling better. He told me to come back a few days later, but I had a commitment already at the time he suggested, so he told me to just come in when it's good for me and he would squeeze me in. What a fantastic doctor. Great bedside manner and very knowledgeable doctor. I highly recommend this wonderful doctor. I feel so much better.

Similarly, about 3 years ago when I first met Dr. Anderson, she diagnosed sleep apnea when it was missed for the 7 prior years by a neurologist and 2 previous primary care physicians. I prefer Dr. Anderson's Skokie office location; where her staff are warm and helpful at getting tests approved or expedited.

Yep, that's how much they billed for a simple sick after the insurance rate adjustment. (224 to 175). I have read about hospital-owned physician groups increased rates, but never realized the increase could be so extreme. Compare this group's rate with my Internist who is affiliated with North Shore but not owned by the hospital. Internist rate after insurance adjustment for simple sick visit is $95. Compared to $175 for pediatrician. Can anyone justify $175? So if you have a deductible , RUN as fast as you can to a non North Shore physician group or you will pay dearly.

But once you get past the two biggest obstacles, the nurses usually are very nice and the doctors are capable and efficient. I've seen two doctors here and both have been very good ones, they understand the issue right away and can come up with a solution pretty quickly. I keep coming here because of the good reputation of north shore and how try are affiliated with U of C. But I hate dealing with the receptionists in the front and hate waiting way past my appointment time. If they could only train the front office better and emphasizing with us, it would go a long way.
