We have had good experiences at this hospital 3 times. First was when my father in law was there. He had been to multiple doctors and hospitals and finally after a fall and visit there he was diagnosed with Parkinsons dementia. He had some atypical symptoms but they helped to get the appropriate diagnosis and helped us get him into hospice which gave him even more services that he needed for free. Next my husband was taken there after a fall and they got plastic surgeon to stitch up his eye lid which was cut all the way through. It healed well and years later he has no visible scar. Recently my husband who is now in his 70s woke up and was so dizzy nauseated and in pain we called the rescue squad. They wanted to take him to Bolingbrook hospital but my father in law had been there and they were no help so we requested Rush Copley even though it was a little further. He had a good experience, with a thorough work up for everything and they scanned his head and whole torso.. Thankfully it was just symptoms from a combo of a sinus thing and intestinal inflammation. They gave him some meds to get him stable. Sent him home with some meds and gave him referrals. The hospital was busy but they got him into quickly and I think we were out of there before lunch time. Very caring staff, doctors etc. The only issue I had was that I was not able to go with him and when I called to get info on his condition nobody called me back. I called twice and really just wanted to know how serious it was while I waited for my son to get here to drive me there. I'd say a couple hours. When we got there there was no explanation of why someone could not have called to let me know he was not dying. Since his care was good I did not mar down for that but it is something they should work on as when we arrived it did not seem like they were overly busy and someone could have relayed at least a general message about his condition. If we ever need to go again I will choose this hospital. read more

real bad experience over 4 hour long in emergency room,with sick babi 10 months old ,worst experience don't recommend it to anyone

I went in on a Tuesday a little before 2 AM as I'm 13 weeks pregnant and woke up bleeding all over myself and then passed a large clot/tissue piece. They triaged me and gave me a 3 rating on a scale of 1-5 priority. We waited over an hour whilst I thought my child was dying. I asked the front desk how long it would be and she couldn't tell me but said there was a 6 hour wait and had an attitude. I called another hospital 6 miles away and got right in - bloodwork, urine analysis, Doppler, ultrasound - it was night and day and my baby is okay. I DO NOT recommend Rush Copley and warn others NOT to trust that they will take care of you because they will not. read more

Our family member was admitted to Rush Copley hospital in poor condition and mental state. The patient did not reliably receive food or water. Hospital staff were emotionally abusive to the patient IN THE PRESENCE OF THE FAMILY. I shudder to think how our loved one was treated when the family was not around. I believe that this standard of "care" would not be allowed under the Geneva Convention for prisoners of war! After transferring to a different hospital, much more compassionate care was immediately evident. Moreover, the doctors at this second hospital had far more theories of the case and considered at lot more potential treatments than Rush Copley physicians. Ultimately, the physicians at the second hospital figured out the medical issue very quickly, while Rush Copley never did in a lot more time. I am no medical expert, but I think all of this might mean that the Rush Copley Hospital was medically incompetent, if not negligent. Don't let your loved one--or even your worst enemy--check into the Rush Copley hospital! Go to Delnor or Good Samaritan hospitals instead. Both are highly rated and have been great experiences for our family over the years. read more

The emergency dept is a joke. I was taken by ambulance wiith very high blood pressure and I was having severe tremors. when they tool me back for vidals the nurse who called me didn't even go to roll me in. I guess you expected me to do it by myself. Then she asked me what my problem was told her I had problems with anxiety, but this was not anxiety because I was seeing an d for abnormal test results, at that point the person that brought me in was trying to explain to her what was going on, and ignored her and started talking to the other and didn't even pay attention to what was said. they took me back to the waiting room, and I waited for 5 hours. when I asked how long it would be, she said it would be 6 1/2 hours more. There was some people there, but there were them that like they were just falling asleep. In the meantime I'm over here having tremors and wondering what the heck is going on with me once the subsided I decided to leave I wasn't gonna wait 6 1/2 hours. Nurses were not paying attention people that were there. People were sitting there for hours and hours on end people were leaving because they were upset. This is the worst place ever for ER. I received a bill for my grand child, her mother received the same bill. I wasn't even there I called to tell the billing department I wasn't there they didn't try to rectify the situation. I even asked for a manager she told me that the manager would say the same thing so she wouldn't even put the manager on the phone..can you say fraud...I wonder how many people are they just double billing.. This place have cero empathy for other people time. Today we had the most racist experience, Secretary who's names is Debora was very rude and unprofessional. She was from the beginning, rude with us. Telling us what to do, They canceled on us our ultrasound less than an hour before our appointment. How dare them? We live like 50 minutes distance! Do yourself a favor and find a different ER. We went to a different ER less than 20 minutes away. We have spent 6 hours at Rush Copley ER in Aurora without being seen in the past. Yesterday Rush was packed again. I should have turned around and tried somewhere else. But I thought it might be quicker with my kids and their breathing issues history there at Rush. My kids have severe asthma... you know, unable to breathe. They didn't see him to evaluate his priority of care (triage) in 45 minutes of sitting in the lobby/waiting area. There was a guy there shoes off, socks on a chair... nasty... yeah buddy you get comfortable (see attached picture). Hey buddy, you will be here a while. I digress... We needed to have my child treated as soon as possible. The at home treatments weren't cutting it. We decided to take a chance going elsewhere. We found a different ER less than 20 minutes away. We walked into the ER. The receptionist understood that breathing was important to live. She had us being triaged in less than 8 minutes. We we in a room getting breathing treatments in about 10 minutes. A world of difference in the level of care at the other ER compared to Rush. Rush has been hit or miss for sometime now. Lately has been more miss than hit. I get it that they were busy, but it's not like we are ordering drinks from a barista. This is literally life and death for some people. read more

Unfortunately, I had a very poor experience here. I came in with very bad symptoms of a concussion and was told I needed a CT. They needed a urine sample due to the fact that they needed to ensure that I was not pregnant before I took the CT. The nurse then came running into the room and very loudly told everyone in my room I was "pregnant" this was not the case and the way the situation was handled was very poor. It was a false positive and they did another test which came back negative. It turns out the nurse did not fully wait to see the lines clearly. This whole experience was humiliating and the nurse/ patient confidentiality went out the door. Please urge nurses to be more aware of appropriate behavior when it comes to issues like this. This hospital will no longer be a top choice and I will gladly drive 20 min to another for better care by staff. read more

I cannot believe the treatment, my son and I experience at Rush Copley Medical Center Thursday it was unbelievable. I can't imagine nurses standing around six nurses was in a room with the patient because she has failed and they were taking x-rays of her leg. Six nurses two was sitting at the desk talking. My son was having an episode where he was breathing very fast, shaking delirious and I got no help. I pushed the button for the nurses no one came. I went out in the hallway and I observed everything that was going on and I had to beg for help then the nurse came in. She's trying to get my son some medication he's unresponsible and I'm asking her. What is she doing? He's shaking. He's breathing very fast and he's shaking. Scared me half to death that was trauma. She came in with the attitude her and another nurse this is uncalled for and you call yourself a nurse I am very very very dissatisfied with Copley Medical Center. this is the kind of medical service you get when you have to pay the bill that comes in. I couldn't believe my eyes what was happening. My son has leukemia and he does matter. I was livid. This broke my heart. Dirty ER room 1 Paper, plastic, rubber on the floor Nurse left exposed needle to orange cover, alcohol wipe and paper on the bed. None of the staff introduced themselves or stated their names. When I asked they visibly appeared bothered to respond. When I asked for the spelling of the current ER Dr on shift it was not given to me. In response I was told for the 3rd time that the ER Dr wasn't the assigned Dr as if I was incapable of understanding. We only saw the ER Dr when I requested to get the Dr after the nurse was simply shaking my mother while she was having convulsions after being given new BP meds via IV. I told her that never happened before. The nurse left the room so I begin to record my mom's convulsions, the nurse returned without the ER Dr and immediately left the room again. Then Dr arrived. Very shortly after the Dr arrived the police (4) came demanding me to leave the premises because I was recording staff without their permission. I immediately told them I only recorded my mother, they claimed it was against the law. BUT in the state of Illinois is not, it's only against the law to record hospital staff without consent. I showed my video and they left. By this time my mother was able to speak and she told them she didn't feel safe anymore because they called the police on me when she couldn't speak for herself. Then a social worker arrived doing absolutely nothing. My mom asked for a transfer. Er Dr (Mozapolist) told me in front of nurse and social worker that I had to call myself to request a transfer because they don't do it. She repeated it 3x and then stated I didn't have any rights to speak on my mother's behalf. Oh but I did because I had full legal power of attorney and had already provided the admitting staff the paperwork. My mom was finally moved to a room around 4am, (we arrived at 9:45pm) I went with her to get her settled in and was told by three different people that I couldn't stay before they even said hello. I never had any intentions to stay. Yet I had to repeatedly tell them that she couldn't use her right arm, tell them that she should be on stroke protocol. There was NO CALL BUTTON in the room and I was assured they would check on her. MY Lawyer arrived the next morning around 9am to visit my mom, because I was pissed about the treatment at the hospital. When he arrived a call button was brought into the room. He asked everyone to step out including myself. Would you believe the MIRACLE turn around that occurred with the staff after his arrival? It was as if we were in a new hospital the remainder of my mom's stay. I tell everyone about my experience and advise them to avoid this place if possible. I probably would have never posted until I was presented with an option to volunteer here and I abruptly declined and had to retell the entire story again, we picked a different location No one ever apologized for calling the police and reporting a false claim on me. I pray my family never has to deal with this location again but I already have legal POA's in place just in case. Edward's Hospital is much better. read more

If you even want to be seen or go to a medical center for any form of medical care, don't go to Rush. No idea what happened nor why it was ever recommended but even upon going into the waiting room I thought I had gone into the wrong building and it was *horrifying*. This place and its staff is a complete joke. My mom came in due to some sharp pains in her stomach that turned out to be kidney stones, and a bit of a language barrier, this is important. When she was registering they asked for her ID, she gave the receptionist her ID, after she was done with said ID she TOSSED it at my mom making her uncomfortable, then put her bracelet on her. When my mom went back to her seat she realized that the name and birthday were WRONG, how is that possible when you literally have the ID with someone's name and birthday...?? My mom stayed seated in the waiting area until she was called again because she not feel comfortable going to the receptionist to get the bracelet fixed and who would after your Id gets tossed at you by someone whos SUPPOSED TO BE HELPING. A nurse called my mother and it was time to get blood work. When they brought her into the room the nurse asked for her name and birthday again, like they should for authentication because its part of their standard work, right? Need to make sure everything is right, correct? Wrong. My mom told the lady her first and last name, and birthday. My mom has a thick accent, but she can clearly say her name and birthday in English. So, even after verbally saying the wrong last name and birthday, nurse continued withdrawing blood and didnt catch the mistake. So, not only did they not check, but they were already billing all these tests onto someone else's account! She gets blood drawn, then they send her back to the waiting room. At that point its been an hour and I get to the hospital since I left work to be with my mom to translate. As I got there I noticed that nursing staff started talking to the receptionist and it seemed like they were trying to solve something and at the same time a nurse called my mom over to take her to the back, but when we got up to talk to her I informed the nurse that my mom's information was input incorrectly even after having the ID with them. Right as the nurse is about to say something the back, the receptionist chimes in to rudely saying it's getting fixed. Then, they inform us that they have to do everything ALL over again. Its okay mistakes happen, right? Well, right when I thought that was the only questionable thing to happen, right as we get brought inside the staff started giving my mom a hard time and technically started blaming her for all the information being wrong. The receptionist even lied about never getting handed the ID, was was more troubling is that there was a Mexican nurse with semi long hair who i believe works doing CT scans or some type of scans, took it upon herself to then tell my mom that in the 7 years she's worked at that hospital nothing like that has ever happened, and that she should have never signed the documents and that they usually go by word of mouth. Excuse me??? You mean to tell me that your STAFFF refuses to double check their work because they go by word of mouth???? And you feel comfortable enough to tell your patients that too??? You also feel that its appropriate to accuse someone whos there seeking help for not doing YOUR JOB? They only started double checking their work AFTER i spoke to the head nurse. But goes to show how little these people actually care about your health. Then the audacity for your staff to be talking badly about my mom at their little station, which wasn't even 5ft away was the best part. Avoid this place like the plague and do yourself and your family the favor of going elsewhere. read more

Newest update.... It is 9:46!am and i have been here for 10 hours and 16 minutes with severe head pain and back pain from falling on my kitchen floor snd hitting my head!!! Update.....currently on 8 and a half hours in the waiting room. Currently on hour 7 of being in this waiting room. This place is despicable!!!! The receptionist even said to someone "sorry this has been like this for 2 years now and no end in sight." That was from your employee. I fell at 9:45 pm on my kitchen floor, on my back and hit head on the hardwood floor. But here I sit. I can't move. They wouldn't even give me Tylenol for the extreme amount of pain I am in. Executive Administrators need to come down and spend a day in this hell, just so they can be in the general public's shoes for a day!!! I was taken in by ambulance for a mental breakdown due to severe MDD and BPD on February 14th of 2025. They put me on a gurney IN THE HALLWAY even though there were plenty of rooms available. My blood sugar was high due to the stress I was under and the doctor ordered I have no food to bring it down. He also took one look and previous self harm scars I had and said "This is too much! I'm just sending her to the psych ward!" The nurses proceeded to ignore me while they waited on more "deserving" patients. I spent 7 hours in the hallway with plenty of rooms open then they moved me UNDER A LIGHT to hook me up to a CPAP machine which I need to sleep. I will also note there was another mentally ill patient there also in the hallway with plenty of rooms available. It was very clear that people brought in for mental illness are not only not prioritized but punished for having the audacity to try and get help when the mental illness becomes too much. I was starved, ignored, denied sleep, denied a room and denied basic care for over 15 hours! Thankfully the nurse on February 15th morning worked hard to get me care and where I needed to be transported. Stay away from this place it doesn't deserve your dollars. read more

The experiences I have had at Rush Copley have been great. I came here for my annual medical visit and more recently for someone's surgery. They gave us a private room that I could stay in during surgery and during recovery period. The room has a semi private bathroom that is shared with the adjoining room. This room made the perfect office with free wifi, an adjustable desk and a comfortable recliner. I found the majority of the doctors, nursed and staff I personally interacted with to be friendly, really nice and competent. The hospital also gave me a voucher for a coffee at the cafe, and I was very impressed with the coffee. While presidents Trump is eliminating federal and state jobs he should consider closing this place down to save of state and government funding for this hospital. They don't do anything for the patients besides bill the insurance for their checks. No services provided besides a swab test ...no blood work nothing besides we might be able to give you antibiotics depending on the swab test. I've been sick with a respiratory infection for three weeks and it's getting worse. I've not able to breathe, chest pain and super thick muscles and bloody nose. They haven't checked the bloody nose, chest pain besides an xray, nothing for the breathing issues. I asked for a DR and they was ignored and I'm left with a PA. Mind you I've been here since 9am and it's 11:30 am and still no updates. It's funny how you have to give at least 1 star when they need NO STAR! The emergency room is the worst place you can come, I was treated terribly, these people are not doctors, they treat you like you are a criminal or a junkie, finally after I told 1 doctor and 3 nurses I do not want pain medication and that is nor why I'm here I was given a few tests and medication for be nauseous, well I was nauseous because exposure to pesticides and I was literally dying and the e r doctor if we want to use the term doctor just sent me home and said drink fluids. This place tries to embarrass you by constantly asking what year is it, what year were you born? Instead of judging, condemning, and demonizing your patient maybe try helping them. I try to never leave reviews especially bad ones, I leave reviews when I have had great service or treatment somewhere, I try not to leave negative reviews but sometimes you need to let others know and not allow yourself to be treated with such disrespect. Easy to see why their rating is 2.3. Patient fell and injured both knees. Brought to hospital in ambulance. Incompetent ER doctor found no broken bones and insisted patient get up and walk. When the patient cried out in pain trying to stand up, finally they did a CT scan and found a torn patellar tendon in one knee, a torn MCL and tendon in the other. Patient scheduled for surgery. Surgery take 2 1/2 hours. Doctor too busy to come and talk to us after the surgery. Less than 24 hours later they try to get the patient to walk. He falls. I don't have anything negative to say about the hospital or doctor's offices itself but please do something about the parking situation! I have 2-3 doctor's appointments a week in the 2040 and 2020 buildings due to a high risk pregnancy and I can rarely if ever find parking. Most of the time I wind up having to park all the way in the Waubonsee parking lot and walk from there. I understand that they offer free valet which is great but the line for that is usually too long that it's not worth being late for my appointment. Please consider building a garage for patients or something to accommodate the need for additional parking spots! Happy that this will be my last week of appointments. read more

My mom survived elder abuse between Rush Copley, Thrive Fox Valley Rehab, and Rush Copley ER. I am recounting the night of abuse and negligence that almost killed my mom. The ordeal began at Rush Copley Hospital, when Care Manager Shannon Riser had my mom discharged to Thrive Fox Valley to recover from her stay. Rush Copley staff removed my mom from her bed 8 hours before Ridge ambulance was due to arrive, to use her bed for storage. The nurses dumped things on her bed as my mom-sick with congestive heart failure-waited in a chair for medical transport she was told would arrive at 2pm. When Ridge finally arrived at 9pm and took her to Thrive that night, my mom was exhausted from being being forced to wait in a chair all that day. The staff at Thrive-on this freezing December night-took my mom to a cold dark room, did not turn on the heat, and left her alone in only her hospital gown without any blankets or heat. My mom was freezing and shivering from head to toe, dying from the cold and negligence. When my mom called the nurses and asked for blankets and socks, the nurses were hostile. Then the Thrive nurses seized the phone from the room and had my mom forcibly removed from her Thrive room and taken back to Rush Copley. The unknown vehicle abandoned my mom in the middle of the night at the Rush Copley "Emergency Room" which was actually an abandoned loading dock. My mom was alone and cold all night until she caught the attention of an employee and social worker. The Rush Copley social worker informed my mom that she had to be sent back to Thrive. He called Ridge Ambulance to retrieve her from "Rush Copley Emergency Room" at 7 A.M. So my mom was forced to spend the night freezing on a stretcher in this garage like area that is documented as the emergency room. When I visited my mom at Thrive that morning, I found her exhausted and disoriented as she told me of the overnight nightmare she just survived. When I tried to reach out to Shannon Riser at Rush Copley, the "care manager" cut me off saying "I don't believe that to be true. I think your mom is confused." When I spoke with a director at Thrive named Chenille, she lied and insisted that my mom "called 911 and had herself taken back to Rush Copley." We are still traumatized by my mom almost being killed that night between Thrive and Rush Copley, and their denial and dismissal of what they did. As we try to manage my mom's CHF and the conditions it brings, we are repeatedly traumatized every time her care team refers us back to ER whenever a severe symptom occurs. In the latest incident when my mom could not move due to pain, I was instructed to call an ambulance, so I did. My mom was left in the waiting room chair all evening until near midnight immobilized by pain and no assistance. Then she was sent home at 3AM with very brief treatment, no diagnosis and another ambulance bill. I am at a loss for what to do when we are referred to the ER. It feels like our neighborhood does not have an ER, and this "Emergency Room" is a lobby where heart patients are sent to die. read more

I am in disbelief at how I was treated tonight in the ER department. I took my son in because he's been sick, has a fever all day. Worried about his breathing. when we were brought in to the triage room the nurse was completely inappropriate and I felt like I was being shamed. Not only that but I felt like she wanted to roll her eyes at me. My oldest is also sick (I mentioned this because she asked if anyone else was sick at home) and she had such a condescending tone with me "well if your oldest is sick, didn't I go through this with you already?" I just said no because she didn't treat my oldest son. My oldest wasn't even there. I don't feel like my son's care was a priority or important. I feel like my son was brushed off completely. Complete lack of empathy and care for the patient. I am disgusted. read more

Wow, I never thought I'd be leaving a review for a Hospital. My visit started out in their ER, I was seen rather quickly for a Saturday night. It ended up being 5 broken ribs and a collapsed lung. I ended up spending four nights at Copley. Everyone I encountered was extremely friendly. Over my four nights at the hospital I encountered nurses, nurse assistants, nurse practitioners, X-Ray techs, radiologists, doctors/surgeons, maintenance, housekeeping, dietary food delivery people probably a few more titles/people I missed. These people are true saints and hero's, I've never given much thought to what they do as I'd never been admitted to a hospital for anything in the past so I really have nothing to compare it to. I didn't encounter any bad attitudes, even when I was probably being grumpy or difficult(I really tried not to be) myself. I don't remember everyone's names but just know I'm very grateful for your professionalism and the care you all provided me. Thank you. read more

I must go on the record to say that the Urology department at Rush Copley Hospital is by far, the best group of Healthcare professionals on earth(of course, that would be besides my own office) Dr. Huang and his team went to great lengths to help make my mother's time with them as pleasant as possible. My mom is pregnant she stayed there for two weeks. My mom threw up and they gave her a shot which she said NO too. We had to call cops. They wouldn't let my dad in to Check in on her. She called my dad saying "they are giving me a shot they won't tell me what it is but I don't want it" my mom barely knows English so she said it in my language my dad said "tell them no then" but they hanged up on my dad NOT my mom but the doctors did like wtf? My mom was there from 9:00 and is staying there for two days again because they gave her a shot and now she's sick. Wouldnt take my worst enemy here. We just lost my cousin because of the negligent care of the doctors and nurses at this hospital, she had a perfectly normaly c-section, kept telling the nurses she didnt feel good and they kept dismissing snd ignoring her pleas. She passed away there, exactly a week after her c section, leaving behind her 14 yesr old son, 8 year old daughter, 1 week old son, and partner of almost 17 years. Immediately after she passed, the doctors and nurses who failed her ran and hid! The family asked to speak with them for answers, and they had the audacity to claim they were too distraught to speak to us. AVOID THIS HOSPITAL!!! read more

Because of my husband having health issues, we have been to ER rooms many times. This time, it was for me and it was the WORST experience I've ever had. Every single person that took care of me (if I can even say that!) was so callous and very cold. I barely got any questions asked about what had happened or how I was feeling. They only took my blood pressure, asked a couple questions LITERALLY and that same girl roughly wheeled me into a room, even hitting the door as she took me in. I was there because I couldn't stand and I could barely move from back pain, (hence the ambulance had taken me there) yet when I got to the room the girl told me to just get on the bed. When I said I couldn't she had the audacity to say "well I can't pick you up!" She got someone else to come help as I painfully tried to get on the bed and that second girl said she was going to put my legs up and that it would be fast! So she just picked up my legs and threw them on the bed, without a word! They both left without even offering a blanket or saying anything. Same thing happened with the person that came in asking for a urine sample. She just expected me to go do it, never offering any assistance! I had to struggle to even pull my pants down until she got fed up waiting for me and finally just did it herself, without a word. The only person that actually even looked at me was a nurse, never a doctor! And all she did was touch my back ask how it happened, the end. The one and ONLY person that was very warm and gentle was the x-ray technician who showed a lot of compassion and helped me every which way she could. I was given meds by the lady who took a urine sample (which was left on the counter. Eww) and then everyone disappeared after that. After a while passed, the same lady came in, looked at me resting and said, "you look better, have you seen your nurse yet?" I looked better?!! After having drugs in me and not moving, I guess I looked better?! The nurse finally came in and said my xray looked fine so they were gonna discharge me. When the same "urine nurse" came to take me out, I asked if they didn't do MRI's or anything and she said "No that's just for emergencies!" Wow! So not only were they telling me I was good to go even though I was still in pain, but they also had no plan of even telling me what was wrong! My husband was very upset and asked how he could take me home like this, and the nurse wheeling me out said "well if you want I can call the nurse?" Up to this point, I had been made to feel like a burden more than anything so why would I want to continue pushing for anymore care from these people. So we left. The cherry on top was when we got to my follow up appointment the next day, the doctor saw how much pain I was in and asked me "why did you leave the ER?!" I wasn't going to go into any detail about our experience UNTIL she told me my report said "I WANTED to leave!" That was absolutely missing context! On top of the fact that all my report said was that the conclusion was muscle related, when I barely got assessed! Needless to say, I ended up in the ER AGAIN the next day, per my doctor's analysis! If I can choose, I'm NEVER GOING TO THIS ER AGAIN! read more

The wait time in the Emergency Room is insane. Been here for over 3.5 hours and barely anybody is being seen.

Cardiology says I need surgery ASAP but wont call back and when I call no one can schedule me for months because they cant find a anesthesiologist to fit their schedule. Don't get sick when its inconvenient for the doctors you might pay for it with your life. read more
