Most of those 14 years, my interaction with this office has been the removal of my payment from my bank account. A few years ago, someone at State Farm had a bright idea; obtain mileage readings on every car every six months. At the time, we had three vehicles insured with SF, and the readings seemed to come at different times, so we seemed to be reporting all the time. Their website didn't work, so we had to call in the information. Sometimes I'd call it in, and sometimes my husband would call it in. I didn't seem to matter however, somehow, I always got an email a couple of weeks later stating that if we didn't respond, our safe driver discount would be removed. We'd call again, we'd get some excuse or half-hearted apology, and they'd take the information again. About six months ago, we sold one of the cars, so both of us were rerated on our actual primary vehicles. We were always honest with SF about who drove what and how often, but apparently, they'd been rating my husband on my primary car and me on the extra car. About the same time, someone (either them or us) transposed a mileage report on my car, resulting in a mileage that was lower than the one six months prior - BUT - no one noticed until six months later when the actual mileage appeared to show a huge increase in usage. Then, we got a statement from SF, saying that our discounts had been removed but no explanation. My husband called, and was told that the mileage reports had probably missed the deadline, but that it would be corrected. Two weeks pass, and a payment is taken from my account that is about $20 higher than I expected. I called this morning, and my day went something like this: 8:00 a.m. - left voicemail - "I need to understand why the discounts have been removed, and I'd like to know when this will be adjusted - please call me back ASAP". 12:30 p.m. - spoke to Debbie, who stated that we didn't report our mileages in a timely manner (wrong), then that my Camry showed a huge jump in mileage in the past period (I explained that we'd already determined - about six weeks ago - that someone made an honest mistake and the mileage had been reported wrong). Debbie then stated that if there was an error, I should provide a service record showing a mileage during that time and that I should have been asked for that information when the error was discovered. I was not - and proceeded to ask her what period she'd like, so that I could try to provide that. Suddenly, she was very interested in the mileage reports of my husband's truck, adding up numbers and showing that he drives about 8,000 miles per year - my car shows about 10,000. She suggested that maybe due to increased mileage (over having three cars to spread them out), our rates had gone up. When I pointed out that we had relatively low mileage, she backtracked and came up with some other lame excuse. Over and over, she tried to tell me why my rates might have gone up, each and every time speaking over me and interrupting me as I tried to make her understand it's not about the $20. I want customer service, and an understanding of why I no longer enjoy this discount, though neither of us have any tickets or accidents, and fairly low miles on our cars. She said she'd call me back in one hour. 2:30 p.m. - no call, so I called back and spoke to Sharyl. She stated that Debbie didn't have an answer for me, but would call back soon. A few minutes later, Debbie called. She told me what amount I should expect to pay next month, and I said ".......aaaaaaaaaaaand....?" She seemed confused. She asked what I was waiting for, and what I expected. I asked if she'd been listening at all. None of this is about a dollar figure. It's purely customer service related at this point, and I'm seriously concerned about having to deal with these ladies if, God forbid, I need to file a claim for either car or our house. After speaking over me and interrupting me several times, she said she was going to pull our mileage records to go over them with me, and though I tried to tell her that was unnecessary, she put me on hold. I hung up. She clearly did not hear my concerns and chose to focus on various hypothetical situations that may have caused a raise in rates. Once again, people, none of this is about the rate. I would pay twice as much if I felt that our insurance agent and his staff were watching out for my best interests and would provide me assurance in time of need. Throughout our conversations, Debbie used endearments such as "dear" and "honey". I am neither her dear nor her honey, and she is not my grandmother's age. We are insurance-shopping now.

Well when I was trying to cancel they said I needed proof of another insurance before they can cancel and were making a big deal. There is no where by law stating I need to show proof in order to cancel any type of insurance. This girl wanted to make it beyond difficult to cancel but eventually did once I found my new insurance card and showed her. They definitely make it hard to cancel like they r the law. I don't recommend them to anyone!
