Rush inn has done it again!! On St. Patrick's Day I enjoyed their Reuben Sandwich special and the corned beef was incredible! (Only offered on St. Patrick's day) but they do have a corned beef sandwich that's always on the menu. Shout out to the Chef Seth, and his amazing crew. On another visit I had the French Onion Patty Melt that has a homemade A-1 Mayo on it AND delicious aus jus to dip it in. I also snacked on their famous bone in clothed chicken wings, lemon pepper dry rub is my favorite flavor in the menu. I also enjoy getting some medium sauce on the side to dip. Stopped in for a quick drink before having dinner nearby. We sat at the bar and were greeted pretty quickly. They have a decent selection of draft and bottled beers. I opted for a Christmas Ale to get into the holiday season. While I love a good cinnamon sugar rim on my Christmas beers, this one became pretty messy, pretty fast. They used honey to rim the glass and almost immediately it started running down the glass, thus getting my hands all sticky. I pointed it out to the bartender, and she was nice about it. Needless to say for my second beer, I declined the cinnamon sugar rim. The bar side is cozy and warm with lots of wood paneling and high booths. They have a full restaurant side with tables and tall dividers on the booths that probably give the illusion of privacy. We didn't get food, but it looked like typical comfort bar food. The chicken wings that came out looked delish. I'd definitely stop in again for a burger or some wings, and a few good beers. read more

The restaurant is very cozy. However, we were meeting friends there and discovered there is no seating for large groups. We had to split up among 3 tables. The waiter took our orders (there were 11 of us). My boyfriend and I were served first. By the time we finished, some of our friends were still waiting for their food. I don't know if this is typical for the restaurant or if they were shorthanded in the kitchen. Food that was ordered: burgers, tacos, gyros, nachos, sandwiches. Everyone agreed the food was tasty (the nachos were the least liked). We had to ask for drink refills and for our checks. I recently had dinner at the Rushin. I unfortunately didn't have enough to tip. I was asked the person I was at dinner with to tip since I payed. Before he could even do that our waiter comes back and goes off on us. The Rush Inn is right across the street from the Becks Art Center. 10 of us came at 12:15 for lunch before going to see Elf. While they didn't really have a table for all of us, we managed to sit across from each other in booths. It worked fine. The drink for all of us was Bloody Mary! The bar tender did a great job in making it just the right amount of seasoning and spice. For one person, who asked for it to be not spicy, they obliged. Would've liked to have a pickle or celery along with the olives, but otherwise, near perfect. The menu is impressive, polish platters, stroganoffs, burgers, wraps, salads even a stir fry. Something for everyone. I had the spicy chicken gyro wrap. I would've liked a bit more sauce, but otherwise, it was really good. We shared fried pickles amd they were tasty and the dip,was tangy and delicious. Some even ordered extra dip for fries. Everyone enjoyed their food. I tried this place when I was visiting for a concert in town. It's your standard pub. They have a lot of drink and food options which is nice. They are also open late so if you need a last minute place to dine or meet friends, this place is alright. I'm grateful to this place for having plenty of seats after Salt shooed us away for not having any reservations. Although...who the heck requires reservations for a Monday night? Anyways...I really liked our server. She was warm, friendly and helpful. The menu was pretty large and they had daily specials. I found window booth seats that were cozy yet spacious and comfortable. The atmosphere passed the cool vibe check and the portions were on point too. However...the food quality and taste could do with some improvement. I ordered a crispy chicken sandwich and it was the least crispy thing I've had in my life. It was also really bland. I asked for BBQ sauce to go with the onion rings (already an upcharge) and there's a charge for the sauce! My friend ordered applesauce to go with her potato pancake side (another upcharge) and that also is an upcharge. Restaurants charging for condiments are just cringe. The bill also tacked on a "non-cash charge" as a line item before they even knew if we were paying with cash or not. Obviously not but yet another upcharge? Yeesh. Although I've come to the bar here several times, I've only ever ordered their food once. It's a standard bar food menu. Burgers, fries, sandwiches, wings etc. Drinks are kind of expensive for a Lakewood bar. $5 or $6 for a draft is a lot when you have so many other places nearby that are cheaper. And the wings are definitely not the best in Lakewood. I haven't tried all the popular wing spots, but I definitely have other favorites. Sorry to say it because I had high hopes. My friends and I did takeout (for Covid reasons, of course) and it was prepared so quickly! Upon pick up the staff was very kind and polite. I really enjoyed talking with them. The food was dang good! I had the honey bbq burger (sorry no pictures, I scarfed it down too quickly.) I subbed tater tots instead of fries and it was the best decision of my young life. These tots? Send ya back to the fourth grade cafeteria I'll tell ya what. My friend had a Buffalo chicken wrap that I also took a bite of and it had quite the flavor, so I'd recommend that as well if you're into Buffalo sauce. All 4 of us got wings, both boned and boneless, and the ONLY reason I'm giving this 4 stars (idk how to give 4.5) is because the wing sauces and styles were not entirely correct. When I walk into the Rush Inn I want to belt our "Where Everybody knows your naaaammmeeee!" Maybe it's just me, but I love that I have been coming to the Rush Inn for several years and the same great people work there. They know our names and we know theirs. They ask how we are and tell us they're glad we are back. It's just nice. On first appearance, walking into the Rush Inn with is weathered door and prominent bar, you would think this is a towny dive bar. I assure you, it's so much more. Beyond the full bar and the keno the Rush Inn serves really excellent food & the menu is pretty extensive. My husband thinks they have the best wings in Lakewood. But they haven't participated in the wing crawl so there is no scientific data to back up this claim. I'm not the biggest chicken wing fan, but the garlic Buffalo Parmesan wings are [insert flying money emoji times three]. The meat comes off the bone cleanly and the skin is super crisp. I have enjoyed many items from their menu, including steak, burgers, sandwiches, appetizers... everything has always been satisfactory. I have to give a special shoutout to their French fries though. I have to get them every time. Honestly, the Rush Inn just feels like community to me. If you happen to go in while the Cavs or Indians are playing, chances are they are going to be slammed. But they will find you a seat and they will take a few minutes to chat with you, even when they are running around. You will leave with a full tummy and a happy heart. read more

We have been coming here for 10 years. I used to love the food and the service. The food has gotten progressively worse over the last ten years, slowly over the years. I have always kept coming back because I really like the setting and the service. It felt like a home town place that was casual. Most of the staff even recognized us. We just went back a few days ago and at this point, I don't think I will be coming back. The portions they give you have drastically changed. I ordered a side of Mac and cheese and a side of fries. This used to be a small plate of each. What came out as my meal was a sauce dip cup of Mac and cheese and a small tin cup of about 8 French fries. I understand things changing, but I was shocked no one said are you sure because that's the size of a small cup now. Instead I was served these 2 tiny cups of food without any warning the sizes had changed. My father in law ordered food without one of the sides (when it came with 3) and they didn't bring him any of the 3 sides. We ordered our second round of drinks before food came out and didn't get them until the meal was almost over. I can understand being busy but the service and quantity of food was so much worse this time. The kicker on top was as we were leaving, we were actively waiting for my family member to get her keys out of her purse and a different waiter came up from behind us that was trying to get by. She said "excuse me EXCUSE ME" literally back to back. I understand we were in her way but I heard her say excuse me the first time and we didn't even have a second to start to step out of her way before she screamed it. My husband even said "oh I'm sorry!" And she kept her head down and dramatically stepped through us as if we were such an inconvenience to her.
