Why do so many people rate this place with one star and tell you to go directly to the agency? Those people clearly have not gone there and waited in a line that wraps around the block starting at 6am. I work insane hours and this agency just saved me the hassle of having go there to get a new passport because I lost my old one. It can be pricey but they have a service for everything. ***Read this before using this business.*** There are two things to know about this company, along with better options. 0) you can get cheaper and better service online if you just Google for passport expediting services. Or, even better, go to the New York Passport Agency by Houston subway stop where you pay nothing except for the $170 passport fee you have to pay anyway. They take walk-ins before 3pm and are super nice. AND they were able to get me my passport in THREE HOURS, same day. Incredible. This is way faster than any agency would have been able to do it, for no extra cost except for a subway ride. I walked in and there was no wait time whatsoever. I wish I had known all of this before this company wasted my time. 1) While perhaps the owner is nice, the rest of the staff there is rude and uninformed. The receptionist was hostile and told me that I needed 4 blank pages for a china visa. That smelled fishy, so I Googled it on my phone. It was 2 pages. 2) Then, I met with one of their employees. I was trying to determine if moving a visa sticker onto a different page would be possible, and if not, I would use their 24 hour passport expediting service. She was beyond condescending and made it clear that she thought I was asking a stupid question and that I was wasting her time. After a few minutes of trying to clarify, I was perplexed that a company that charges $450 on top of the $170 processing fee would treat customers this way, stupid questions or not. I literally stopped her to point out that she was giving me a huge amount of attitude, at which point she became defensive and started justifying her tone. Mmm. K. (And for good measure, I pointed out that they had initially told me it was 4 blank pages, which was why I was trying to clarify details. The receptionist chirped up and said, "DIDN'T I CORRECT MYSELF?" Uh, yes. You did. After I pointed out you were wrong.) 3) If you're in NYC, just go to the US Passport Agency. It doesn't take you any longer, because you have to fill out forms anyway. And it especially doesn't take longer if you do an office visit at Rush Passport since at that point, you're already making a trip. Just please. Don't give these horrible people your hard earned money. Quick but extremely overpriced ($15/photo?!?!?) and cash only. I came here because I really needed some great quality passport-size photos and had read good reviews. However, I felt a little timid while being there since the staff was not very inviting. On top of that, the man who took my photos tried to strike a conversation about how I don't look like what my ethnicity is, and I didn't appreciate such an awkward attempt at a compliment or diss (unsure?!) Also, the lens is different from what I'm used to, so my picture looked like I was looking away from the picture. Granted it was good quality. Beyond #1. Thank you Sam / Kim / Paula. Quite the day. I lost my passport in a taxi on the way to the airport. NO way to contact the taxi driver. (Use UBER!!!). They handled everything. I just supplied the info, went to the Post Office for authentication. Well when all was done and I was set for my passport the next day, I went back to the hotel to have them tell me the taxi driver (angel) brought it back to where he picked me up. I called Sam he said no worries as all he wanted was me to be secure. I collected the paperwork didn't need the passport after all but was sooooo happy to have them help me in the event I did. DONT GO HERE. I normally don't write reviews, but this place is a rip off and doesn't hesitate to overcharge their customers. I needed to renew my passport within two days and while they guaranteed they could have it to me when I needed it, the price was RIDICULOUS. $250 for the general fee + $170 for what the federal agency would normally charge expedited + $15 for the passport photos. That's TOTAL $435!! They don't even include the price for the photos in their fee! No favors or discounts here! I took my business to the New York Passport Agency at 376 Hudson Street and got my renewed passport the very next day for just $170! read more

I may be overly critical here, but I'd first try contacting the proper authorities first for an appointment, rather than simply running to Rush Passport, since they may simply be high-priced runners. Clearly, these guys simply have a standing appointment at 9 or 10 am at the Embassy or Consulate. I realized that my neglectful and basically selfish passport had expired, without notifying anyone, on the day I was to depart for Korea (but which Korea?! Why won't you tell us?!?!). After the initial panic subsided and breathing returned to relative norm, I set out to devise a plan to FIX things. Despite the fact that I saw the below lines on the .gov site, I did not clearly understand what it meant: NEED A U.S. PASSPORT IMMEDIATELY? You should make an appointment to be seen at a Regional Passport Agency only if: * The U.S. passport is needed in less than 2 weeks for international travel * The U.S. passport is needed within 4 weeks to obtain a foreign visa Contact the National Passport Information Center to make an appointment or locate a Passport Agency. I think i misunderstood "needed in less than 2 weeks." Let us blame Panic. So, instead of making an appointment, I just went with Rush Passport, after rescheduling my flight (Do not pay the inordinate amount of "fare difference" over the phone! Try calling different numbers and talking to different agents until you get someone nice). $300 for same day $250 for two days $200 for 3-4 days I opted for the $200 option and got a call to pick up the passport the very next day. Fast. But pricey, no? Well, check your passports, kids, at least a month before you travel! Well, if not, there's always Rush Passport and what not. Needless to say, they got the job done, very quickly. Hassle-free. If you got the dough, it's all good. If not, it may hurt a bit. 3-stars with high recommendation, if necessary. Rush Passport is not necessary if you live near a Federal Regional Passport Agency: https://travel.state.gov/content/passports/en/passports/information/where-to-apply/agencies.html Even in an emergency situation (traveling abroad within 2 weeks or needing a foreign visa within 4 weeks), you can show up to an agency in person without an appointment and have your new passport within a few hours for the standard $170. You'll have to show proof of travel, but it'll save the extra $400 bucks that Rush Passport charges for same day service ($300 for 2 day, $250 for 3 day, $200 for 4-5 day, $150 for 6-7 day, $100 for 8-10 day -- days mean business days). Roman and his staff are very friendly and nice on the phone and through email, but you really should know your options before diving in with them. Perhaps some of their services are useful, but if you need a new passport/renewal ASAP and live near an agency, do yourself and your wallet a favor and skip Rush Passport. read more

You're going to pay for it, but they did a great job and I needed it done pretty badly. They have this system pretty much wired up, so if you need to get a passport in a hurry, they're the folks to go to. You can actually supposedly get a passport in 24 hours from the State Dept building; however, what they don't tell you is that even though it is POSSIBLE to get it in 24 hours, in order to do that you need an appointment, and the appointments aren't that easy to get. This service exceeded my expectations. I stupidly waited too long to renew my passport the normal way, so I relied on Rush Passport to help me out based on their stellar reviews. I ordered the seven day service for both a passport and a passport card. Of course there were fees involved but they were competitive compared to other rush services that I researched. The process was seamless as the website was clear and the phone operators (specifically Charles) were very helpful. When I went to drop my materials off, the wait was pretty short and once I was able to sit with Charles to place my order. He was efficient and nice and the process was quick. One of the owners, Roman, was there and he was very friendly and helpful as well. I was surprised to get a call after only three business days telling me that my passports were ready. I went to the office to pick them up and was instantly given my order which was perfect and error free. I can see why many people (celebrities included - as seen on their wall of pictures in the office) rely on this service. Lost my passport 10 days before my trip to South America. Sheer panic. Then searched rush passport places on Yelp. Found that RushPassport had the most amount of reviews. Gave them a call, good thing it was 24/7, and they sent me the instructions to fill out all the forms required before coming into the office. The one pain in the butt part was that you had to re-fill out the passport application form, authorization form for Rush Passport to be the courier at home and bring it to their office. If you want to fill out all the forms at their office, it costs an extra $25. They charged $225 for 3 business days service to get a passport and another $10 for 2 passport pictures...Got my passport in 2 business days which was great. Kseniya? the person I dealt with at the office was wonderful and very professional. Their office had a wall full of celebrities who got their passports with Rush Passport so clearly they been around for awhile. You can probably find a cheaper agency to do the same thing as they do but if you are really in a pinch not the time to be cheap. read more

This business was trying to get me to spend way more money than I needed to (like hundreds). First the rep said I needed a passport to get into puerto Rico. Then she said that I need a passport to leave puerto Rico and travel the Caribbean. I read her the statement from my itinerary : "Although U.S. and Canadian citizens are not currently required to travel with a passport on domestic itineraries including Alaska, Bermuda, Canada, Caribbean, Hawaii and Mexico, all cruise lines highly recommend they are carried" and she still tried to insist that I NEEDED one. She also stated that I could only come in 14 days before the trip and that the longest option was 7 days which seems to contradict statements from other yelp reviews. I was in a fix. I needed a passport, and I needed it fast. Rush Passport got it done, and they performed a miracle in the process. I lost my wallet a while back, and lazily started depending upon my passport as my source of ID. I figured that I'd just renew it at a service, easy as pie, because all you need is your old passport. No pie for me. If your passport is in anything less than pristine condition, it is considered mutilated, and you need to apply from scratch. And that requires ID that I just didn't have. Worse yet, you need proof of travel, and I have no travel plans. Suffice to say that Rush somehow got me my passport despite me not having truly adequate ID, and they did it in a day. They really know their way around the passport bureaucrats. Talk to Sam over there; he's a really nice guy, and he knows his stuff cold. I learned two things from the experience. First, don't be lazy about your ID. Secondly, the proof of travel required to get an expedited passport can be gotten very cheaply if you buy a one-way bus e-ticket to Canada, just across the border. But I'd never do anything so awful, not me. I'm taking one star off for the amount of money that they siphoned from my wallet, but they're the real deal. read more

Stupid me noticed 3 weeks prior to my trip overseas that my passport was 3 months expired. After seeing that it might not make it in time with regular State Department processing and all local office appointments were booked, I looked to Rush Passport. The reviews were all excellent and the price wasn't too bad either. The cost depends on the number of days you need your passport. With the 6-7 day request I made, it costs $150, but look out for a coupon that may be available if you call ahead and speak to Yessenia. She was helpful in my first call to answer questions and followed up very quickly via email with all the necessary forms. It turned out that my passport only took 3 days, quicker than the expected 6-7 days. Also, if you don't have a passport photo, or are thinking of going to Duane Reade or UPS store, don't waste your time or money. The photos suck. You can get them taken at Rush Passport when you drop your material off (assuming you do it in person) for just $10. The employees make sure you have everything you need to make the process go as smoothly as possible. They help make your case for a new passport as dire as possible. For those of you in NY who tried getting an appointment at the NY passport agency and couldn't in time; no fear there is hope! You do NOT need an appointment to go to the NY passport agency even though they say you must have one. Print out your itinerary, get all of your documentation, fill out the forms online, get your photos and get to the NY passport agency ASAP. They will have your passport ready the SAME day or NEXT day based on when your flight is. The only reason people pay so much for services like these (Rush Passport) is because you pay for a person to go wait in line for you at the NY passport agency. I can't praise the folks at Rush Passport highly enough. I realized my passport was expired a few weeks before an upcoming cruise, but not close enough for me to be able to use the services offered by the New York Passport Agency (which will make appointments for those who are traveling within two weeks). Still, going through the post office wasn't an option and no amount of soul preparation makes one ready for those lines. Yelp led me to Rush Passport, which has not only been the expedited passport services used by so many everyday New Yorkers, but also by a number of celebrities for their own passport needs. If it's good enough for the A-listers, it's good enough for me. My first call got patched through to Roman, the owner and mastermind behind his operation, who not only answered all of my questions but also e-mailed me a thorough list of everything I'd need for my visit. He assured me that no appointments were necessary and, most bewildering of all, that it would take no longer than 15 minutes to prepare my application. Sure enough, I was seen nearly as soon as I walked into the office the next day, and I sat at that desk for no longer than ten minutes. Note that using Rush Passport will require fees ON TOP OF the standard fees needed by the state. The prices increase by the celerity of processing time (for instance, I asked to have mine delivered within 7-10 days, which would run me an extra $150, plus the $170 application fee for the Department of State, leaving me with a whopping sum total). The most expensive is definitely the 1-2 day services, but when you're in a blind panic with a travel itinerary in hand, it's just nice to work with folks who know what they're doing. In fact, my rep noticed my old passport had some water damage, and she helped me draft - word for word - a letter that would help convince the State to reissue my passport (apparently, severely damaged passports require an application for a new one). Best of all, I got a call within three days saying that my new passport was ready for pick up, five whole days early.
