I came in for a routine dental cleaning on 10/12/2024 and was told I needed some work done. I…read morescheduled the repairs, which included a crown for a leaking filling on tooth 30, previously done at this office. However, Dr. Alford did not explain any additional issues or treatments that might be necessary. I trusted her to address only the immediate repairs. During a follow-up appointment on 11/13, I had work done on teeth 2, 14, 15, and the crown on tooth 30. Dr. Alford mentioned a possible root canal for tooth 14, which I later had on 11/20. Despite this, I continued to experience pain in teeth 2 and 15. After seeking a second opinion from another dentist, I learned both teeth were cracked and required crowns. I ended up having four crowns and a root canal, all stemming from what began as a simple check-up. What frustrates me most is that nothing was mentioned about the cracked teeth during any of my appointments, and I was left in pain for months. When I called Mitchell Dental Clinic to discuss a refund, I was told I hadn't been there since 2020, though I have a ledger showing otherwise. I also had a gap in visits due to COVID but returned as soon as dental offices reopened. Dr. Alford cracked two of my teeth and refuses to take responsibility or offer a refund. Now, I'm forced to pursue legal action. I want to warn others because, after researching, I found this to be a recurring issue at this office. This has been a very frustrating and costly experience.

It started with walking into a tastefully designed reception and waiting area. It felt warm and welcoming. Great comfortable chairs and interesting magazines made me feel right at home. (I even liked the bathroom, which has mouthwash & small plastic cups available for patients to use. PLUS, I loved the unique tile on the floor). But back to the process of replacing my crown. I had an exposed nerve. It was driving me crazy - so I was in a hurry to take care of it. During the process the Dentist and assistant were professional, business-like and fast! They moved like an experienced team from beginning to end. I liked the fact that the dentist checked with me often throughout the time I was in the chair. I had no problems with any of the steps...and I was worried I might. He even discovered a small cavity on the neighboring tooth. Showed me where it was on the xray and took care of that too! Best of all - 1, He replaced my crown in ONE VISIT. He has a machine in his office that makes the replacement crown as I wait. Not all dentists have this, but I am glad this one does. I don't have to wear a temporary crown and don't need to come back in two weeks for the new one. Once and Done. What a luxury for me! I love it, especially the fact it doesn't cost any more! 2. He call me 5 hours after the new crown was in and asked how I was feeling. I felt great and told him so. Then I realized he had to give me more pain killer than usual, because he had to take care of a cavity and a crown. Yet he knew what the perfect amount would be. In other words, he really knows how much (or how little) to give so I don't feel anything during (or have a reaction after) the session. This morning (the next day) that corner of my gums felt a little sore when I brushed my teeth. Now it's fine. Great results for some pretty intensive tooth work! I will be back whenever I need a dentist!

Difference can be made with one. You must just make the first step. I was given their name to contact from a friend. After putting off a call for an appointment, due to the shame of the condition of my mouth due to health issue and PDSD from past Dental care at a dentist office in another state, I took a jump of faith and made the call. They got me in the same day to look at my mouth. The receptionist last words to me on the phone was "we look forward to helping you." I thought you say that now but wait until you all see what I am dealing with. Hot mess! Needing a lot of care (a couple broken teeth, decay , and more dental problems) they meet me where I am at and said we are going to fix this. We got you. The care the dentist (Doctor and the dental assistant (this young lady has the biggest heart for her patients! At 23 she makes you feel like you can exhale, she has you!) are giving me is nothing short of life saving! This mother of 5 with one child that has chronic life-threatening illness, another child with Developmental delays / medical issues, and Oma of 2! the best grandsons in the world! I Have put off the care I have needed, to care for my family. And the doctors, and staff at Family Dental Care have stepped up and are giving me the care I need. No matter if you need a cleaning or intense dental care, I say take that step into the office of Family Dental Care. They have you covered. Story of the star fish... A young girl was walking along a beach upon which thousands of starfish had been washed up during a terrible storm. When she came to each starfish, she would pick it up, and throw it back into the ocean. People watched her with amusement. She had been doing this for some time when a man approached her and said, "Little girl, why are you doing this? Look at this beach! You can't save all these starfish. You can't begin to make a difference!" The girl seemed crushed, suddenly deflated. But after a few moments, she bent down, picked up another starfish, and hurled it as far as she could into the ocean. Then she looked up at the man and replied, "Well, I made a difference for that one!" The old man looked at the girl inquisitively and thought about what she had done and said.
