My fiancé and I are working with Russ & Thet for our upcoming wedding at the end of the year. So far we've met with Russ & Thet a few times and just had our engagement photo session. So for now this review is for the engagement photo session portion. (I'll update this review after our wedding) Our experience so far has been great. When deciding among wedding photographers, we met them at a bridal show and then made and appointment to meet at their studios to ask questions and look at more of their work. There was no pressure, they were very open in answering our questions and explained things well (from schedules/timelines to the equipment they use). The best way I can describe our engagement session was relaxed and drama free. I'm not much for standing in front of the camera (I didn't even want to do engagement photos when we started looking into wedding photographers), but Russ & Thet made us very comfortable and easy to be ourselves. They give you a bunch of options to choose from in deciding where to have your engagement session (i.e. beach, park, Downtown, etc.) We chose a park + Downtown L.A. combo. I was surprised at how two locations can turn into so many different kinds of photos. I think there were 3 different spots at the park (picnic setting, a little bridge, and a stream) and 5-6 spots in Downtown LA all within walking distance of each other. The different spots in Downtown L.A. all had a different style to them (fancy, playful, the skyline, some water involved, busy city, etc.). They also had brought a few props for both the park and Downtown (nothing crazy to crowd-drawing, just some fun stuff). And honestly, we saw another couple doing their engagement photos and I think the spots that Russ & Thet chose were better. Seriously, I didn't once think to ask Russ & Thet if we could take photos like the other couple. So overall we were really happy with our engagement shoot. We hope our wedding day shoot turns out just as enjoyable and we'll planned. read more

We had our family pictures taken by Russ and we absolutely loved the outcome of our pictures. He definitely has a great vision & is talented at what he does.
