We couldn't have been happier with our rentals from The Party Place for our wedding! They were so easy to work with, extremely professional, and quick to respond. We visited their location in person to make our selections and their staff was so helpful and courteous! I took quite a long time to make final decisions, kept going back and forth on a few things, and at the last minute decided to add a rug and never once did I feel rushed in making decisions or like I was troubling them with all my changes. The setup and teardown on our wedding day went so smooth, they set everything up exactly how I envisioned it and everything looked amazing. We rented their farmhouse style tables, chairs, a dance floor, all the place setting items, and an area rug and everything turned out so great! Can I just....these guys are great. I used them once for a charity auction years ago. Then more recently, I rented from them when I hosted family holiday dinners. I always have missing pieces when I try to pull together a reasonably elegant gather. I've found it actually less stress and perhaps even less expensive to rent. Takes me about 15-20 minutes online to take care of EVERYTHING. In the end, I have an elegant tablesetting (everything matches!) with no scurrying trying to procure random items. Even with pick up and drop off from their warehouse, I think I save time in set up and clean up. But what really inspired me to write a review- on both occasion the staff were patient, friendly and helpful- even though I was clearly NOT a high revenue client. They're great. read more

I am only giving 5 stars in hopes that this will protect other young ladies... Employees of this company chose to take it upon themselves to roll up on a young lady who was in her car parked photographing the night shift workers in the rail yard which the party palace is located on... again it was night she was alone and these two men pull their pickup near her and start harassing her... asking what she is doing she explained that she was photographing trains... they told her it was private property... she questioned them about their being no signs and that she has frequented that spot and even spoke to railroad employees who had never informed her of that... they then proceeded to bully her while they sat parked in there truck partially blocking her path... nervous about being followed she hesitated then pulled out onto the street she pulled into to a well lit parking lot to gather herself... they then pulled up with there trucks headlights pointing at her... one employee got out of the truck and aggressively approached her drivers door while yelling at her... she told them to step away from her car... the employee stepped back and started filming her... accusing her of being on drugs... she asked for the employees name and what his position there was... he just kept filming and threatening her... she finally pulled back onto the street and was able to leave without being followed... read more

It's like Costco for people that need not huge tubs of Mayo, but a large order of chairs, tables, even random things like popcorn machines, glassware, linens and more. This is why this place rocks my socks: published prices. So imagine you go to the grocery store and you're eyeing the oranges. There's no price, so you ask the produce guy, "How much are these?" He asks, "What are they for?" You say, "For my lunch." He says, "They are $1.00 a piece." Two hours later later you come back and ask, "The oranges were so good I decided to use them in a fruit salad for my wedding." "For a wedding! That'll be $3.50 per piece." If you've ever planned a wedding, you know what I'm talking about. I went to the warehouse and showroom on Saturday with a planning client. I had come in midstream in the planning process and admittedly hijacked a few things. But the staff was very understanding and helpful. And because the prices are published and available in a handy dandy booklet, there's no jacking up of the prices just because of the event. In addition, the rental prices seem to be based on the cost of the item, not the "demand" for the item. The only improvement I would make would be to the selection of linens. They linen rental prices are very reasonable, $7.00 for a standard cloth, and no increase in price for comparable cloths in different colors. They could have a little more variety in color and texture though. Some people just don't feel the poly-blend linens and my client is one of them. So we'll be looking elsewhere for the overlays. But overall, awesome rental experience. read more

I am a wedding coordinator and I work with Party Place on a regular basis. They really outdid themselves this time. I worked with Joan for a wedding that happened this past Saturday 9/15/18. As we started to get closer we realized the forecast was going to include rain and we had to implement the rain plant - a tent, which the couple really preferred not to have. Joan was so patient, quick to respond and understanding of the week-of chaos that ensued as we figured everything out. As always, I recommend them and even more so after this positive experience. Planning a party!? This place is an absolute must-go. In my case, I was planning a bridal shower for my beautiful sissy-to-be. Starting from scratch, I needed EVERYTHING! I was able to rent 3 banquet tables, 25 padded chairs, cups, plates, silverware, coffee maker, table linens (clothes and napkins), all for under $200. I got to pick them up on Thursday evening and keep them until Monday, too! The woman who helped us was incredibly friendly, and was such a huge help! Having never planned a party before, I was so thankful to her for letting me play with the different colors and table settings in the show room before I locked an order in. Needless to say, the shower was a success... I got so many compliments on how beautiful everything was. No reason to hire a party planner anymore. Super Convenient location under the Fremont bridge. Good prices, friendly helpful service, just two gripes: their sound systems are puny, underpowered, barely adequate for events in larger venues, and no inflatable wrestling/bouncing/sumo equipment! We were able to get almost everything from them for our wedding. It was nice to have a one-stop-shop. The staff were easy to work with and provided great support and assistance in finding the items we were looking for. Great for a DIY bride who needs some things, but not everything. They didn't charge us or treat us badly when a couple extra things didn't get returned initially and we returned them a few days later. Highly recommended." Please disregard all of this. First off, as far as we were informed delivery and set-up were not an option and unpleasant surprises were bountiful. As if paying over $400 wasn't enough for some mediocre silverware and plates, we were charged OUTRAGEOUS rates when The Party Place claimed that we had damaged their items. I'm talking about $8 for a wine glass and $4 for a knife. Even though some of the plates were returned just as they were received, we were slammed with over $160 of charges and fees. Returning things a "few days later" is completely out of the question. Three years ago, the Party Place may have been a good option, but I would not recommend it to anyone needing rentals, especially for a wedding. Very disappointed. VERY. read more

I asked for a quote from this company. I never confirmed an order due to the fact that a competitor company had much better prices I was told that payment was due 48 hours before the event. I never confirmed this order or pad for it. They delivered the chairs anyway and now are threatening to send my bill to collections if I don't pay. The people in my party accepting the chairs didn't know that was not the correct company and accepted them. So the company I actually did pay to do my event did not have anyone come to accept them seeing that they thought they already had. The party place continued to call and email me all through my even window ( my wedding) to try to get payment from me. This company acted very shady and unprofessional with me. And now are saying they delivered them anyway out of courtesy, without notifying me. All the while I thought I had not confirmed any order. We had an outdoor wedding at one of the PDX public parks. While the setting was gorgeous, we had to bring in EVERYTHING (from chairs to garbage cans to generators). The Party Place was there for every detail from the beginning to the end. I was able to speak with Carole every time I called and she was professional, responsive, helpful, and incredibly flexible. I think I modified our order at least four times and they were able to accommodate everything. The crew worked seamlessly with the venue and our coordinator and clean up was quick. I felt they were fair and upfront about everything and their prices were reasonable. All in all, they provided exactly what we were looking for and gave us a perfect, stress-free day.
