    Playground

Plenty of nice grass area. Parking lot half full on a Tuesday at 5:30 pm. A few kids on the playground.

My 2.5 year old daughter loved it! We brought some shovels and toys to play with the sand. She also enjoyed both the smaller playground and the bigger playground. She liked that there are rock walls to climb and a bridge to jump on. The swings were also in good condition. There's also ample grass and plenty of parking. Everything was clean. Not too far from the freeway.

Very convenient, wide, spacious and in our neighborhood!

I looove how this park has a HUGE grass/park area! It keeps on extending until the other side of the road! You can bring your pets, children, and adults here! I've seen teens practice with their teams here and it was during evening time! Before, this park was soo dead! Not many people would come here. There was only one slide and no tables with shades! There is still one bbq pit, which I think, should be more! I also thought the play area was not really taken care of because you could see the webs of the spider! After, this park was remodled, it turned out great!! The play area is now two instead of one slide!! There are tables with shades and more benches!! More people come here and hangout!! It ain't dead anymore! This park is locally in my neighborhood and lots of parking spaces as well. We've been coming here more often also!!

Fun park for families. Kid and pet friendly. Has a nice shelter as well. No bathrooms.

There's a communal bench area that's covered that looks good for parties (with a cool King Neptune statue). There are really beautiful and unique stone water fountains shaped like seashells integrated into the walls. It feels like a magical little park with groovy animals/shapes. My kid was able to enjoy the splash pad all to herself. There's an outdoor shower right by it as well to rinse off. The splash pad was interactive and fun. There are various swing sets here of different styles fit for different ages. There was ample parking. Many of the areas are shaded. The bad: We came upon opening hours and the gate wasn't open yet. People opened it around 7 minutes late. My husband and I were about to leave but luckily stood around trying to make phone calls for long enough that someone eventually came and opened the gate. The interesting: After an hour or less at the splash pad the button to turn the water on stopped working.

Joke's on me, now I know why!! For starters, they don't tell you the splash pad is closed for maintenance on your way in. You have to discover that for yourself. I talked to the employees up front about it on our way out, 10 minutes after going in. I asked if I missed the sign that the splash pad is closed and they said they don't have one. According to the people up front, they're also "not allowed to tell guests it's closed" when they come in unless they ask. They said it's actually been closed all summer and they don't know when it will be fixed. Okay, let's make lemonade out of lemons then. Why not just enjoy the other play structures? Would love to... however ***everything*** is soooo run down. Coming from someone who doesn't normally care about anything enough to write a negative review... don't go here. All of the climbing structures are crumbling, dirty, worn, and covered in bird poop. All. of them. I saw 4 stray cats running around in there. The splash pad doesn't work. I don't know why they're even open to be honest. I actually feel bad for the facility itself. I'm sure it was amazing when it was clean, taken care of, and the splash pad worked. I hope the city gives it the care it needs. What a bummer.

There are trails to access different parts of the lake. Many people circle around the lake or fish recreationally. Signs around the lake continue to prohibit feeding the wildlife. I'm happy with the pictures I took, but I can still improve. The experience was decompressing with sounds of flowing creek water and birds chirping all around the air.

Parking is easy with a large lot right next to the lake, opposite of the lake are some hiking trails if you have more time. It's a nice loop going around with some different areas along the way such as a small creek, reeds near the shore, and some water works that looks like they have been turned off or no longer function. Even in Winter there are a lot of different birds around. My kids loved following and chasing the large pelicans in the lake. You can fish here and there are children's fishing competitions. Just keep in mind to have a permit because when we went there was a police officer checking and ticketing people.
