I did my taxes the 2nd week of April, and when I called, they told me I could just walk in without scheduling an appointment. I first met with Trinh, who was very helpful and really listened to my complicated tax situation. She put in all of the information, and then afterward, I met with Gustavo, who reviewed everything. A year and a half later I received a letter from NYS with penalties because they never received my return (that I paid Mustafa to prepare). I brought the letter into the office and Mustafa said he'd check on it and get back to me, I never heard anything back. I decided to speak with another CPA in the mean time and pay to re-prepare the tax return. I then called the IRS who also never received my return or any letters / information to dissolve my business. I have paid $1,000 in fines to date because of this. When I called / emailed Mustafa's office they were not receptive and then Mustafa suddenly had COVID when I called to demand answers and copies of the submittal. I received paper documents to send in a week later because he clearly never sent anything in with no apology or refund.

She had me gather some more numbers to add to my deduction - details I hadn't even thought about, so I appreciate her thoroughness. Anyway, everything was done and filed in just a few days. I highly recommend her. One thing to note: during the busy tax season, she isn't the quickest to respond to emails. Texting directly to her phone is the way to go.

Here are some highlights of my experience: Eli is very knowledgable and is able to explain everything easily so that people like me who feel like taxes are a foreign language can understand. I came in assuming I was going to owe so much bc I had no idea what I was doing or how taxes even worked.. but Eli answered all of my questions with patience even though I know I was probably asking the same question over & over lol. Eli also shed some light on things I had no idea about like how putting money in an IRA can really help to save on how much I owe in taxes, and how I need to go ahead & pay estimated taxes twice a year, and other business related matters that as business owner i needed to know & did NOT beforehand.
