I was rejected by the Company on the basis that the Company does not handle audited tax years prepared by others. That was NOT the purpose of my outreach. I have several years of unprepared returns and am also looking for preparation of my 2025 return. It appeared that this message was sent to me by someone in office administration, not any actual preparer. Understanding my purpose in contacting this company is essential and was completely misconstrued. Went through their requirements of setting up a zoom call for a meet and greet with Linda Ramsay. Sat and waited on the scheduled zoom call for 25 mins with no one showing up. I initially had a frustrating experience related to RSU reporting on my 2020 tax return. Like many people with equity compensation, I didn't realize that RSU sales require special handling. My preparer at the time, Sally Trauco (who's no longer with the firm), didn't adjust the cost basis to reflect the value at vesting, which led to me significantly overpaying in taxes. There was some initial miscommunication since Sally had left and it wasn't immediately clear what had gone wrong or why. But once I raised my concerns, Brian personally reached out, took time to understand and investigate the issue, and candidly acknowledged that it was something the firm should have caught, which I really appreciated. He also offered a thoughtful, fair solution that helped me feel a lot better about the situation. Mistakes happen, but it's how they're handled that matters. I work hard for my money and I don't want to feel like I have to fight to be treated fairly when something goes wrong. That's why I prefer working with smaller firms. They're more likely to prioritize trust and long-term relationships. If that's what you're looking for, you'll find it with Brian. So 5 stars because even though it was a costly mistake, Brian is working with me to make it right. That counts for a lot! It's very hard to find professionals who aren't just transactional and who will acknowledge fault and do the right thing. read more

Brian was good (customer-focused) years ago but the growth of his company has made Brian complacent. He asked for feedback, I provided, and there was no follow-through from him nor was there any conciliatory behavior when I alerted him to his complacency. I was really reluctant to pay for a tax service because i've always used turbo tax without issue. However, this year turbo tax said i owed over $4000. I moved states and jobs and things seemed really amiss. I shopped around for a reputable tax accountant firm and this one quickly came through as the front runner. Many other firms asked me to email them my documents, which didn't seem very secure. However, with Liebert, I was able to securely upload my documents to the system they use. Going into this, i was extremely worried that the payroll department messed up my w2s or deductions. I worked with Laura Bulas, who was very prompt in reaching out to me with follow up questions to the questionnaire. She alerted me to an issue with my w2 that was resulting in me owing $1600 and directed me to inquire with my payroll department. By doing so, I learned that I was missing a w2 for one state. Once I submitted the additional document, the issues cleared up and I no longer owed. I'm so grateful that she caught this issue and I'm not sure other firms or accountants would have caught this. five starts for Laura and Liebert Associates!!! My husband and I looked for a good NY accountant for a while because we have some crazy taxes: multiple W2's, 1099's and 2 businesses between the 2 of us. Brian was extremely easy to work with, always responds to emails quickly, and the process was painless. Their electronic setup is even easier than others I have worked with. Other accountants I've worked with have a site where you are assigned a login and you upload and then return to download/sign. With Liebert, you receive a link by email and it took you to where you needed to be to drag, drop, sign, etc while all being very secure. I've also worked with accountants where sometimes I wonder if I know more about tax law than they do and that is not the case with Brian. He is incredibly knowledgeable...knows his stuff and I trust his advice fully. We will definitely be working with him in the future. read more
