Four stars because scheduling is sometimes difficult and getting through on the phone is nearly…read moreimpossible. All of this is made MUCH better with MyChart, though. Dr. McIntosh has been my primary care doctor for over a decade. He is very personable and has an excellent bedside manner. He has seen me through quite a few health issues and always pops through when I've been admitted to the hospital. We don't have all the answers for my health problems but I can't say he doesn't LISTEN to every single one of them. He orders tests and refers me to specialists when needed. I've never felt misunderstood or dismissed which is not something I can say for many many specialists I've seen. To be fair, Auto Immune diseases are notoriously difficult to diagnose but I can confidently say Dr. McIntosh is doing everything he can to help me get answers. I would send anyone I know to see him without reservation. *Read up on Celiac Disease, doc! The amount of misinformation from medical professionals on this is criminal and a huge disservice to those who have it. Effects from celiac damage can spill over into almost every other part of your body. Celiac is for life and a negative blood test/scope (after a positive one) means you're doing well GF. it does NOT mean Celiac went away and you can eat what you wish! Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk (which I shockingly have to give to almost every doctor I've seen.)

A few years ago I was in search of a great doctor but was having a hard time finding one... I…read morechecked out a couple that were okay, but the hunt continued until I found Dr. McIntosh. I was sold after my first appointment. If you live in the St. Peters/O'Fallon area, this is your guy. If you live downtown, this is still your guy. I swear he's worth the drive. I've never had a doctor pay more attention to what I'm telling him and genuinely care about what it is that I'm saying... and that's priceless. He's also a pretty funny guy who tries to be "hip" to what's going on in the world and strikes up the funniest conversations! Dr. McIntosh is thorough and knowledgeable, and he'll get you back up and running in no time. I've seen him for typical stuff such as allergies and colds, and he makes great recommendations and always gives me tips that help me feel ten times better. I even had to call the after-hours line once with a bad sinus infection (sure he appreciated that one) and he was still as caring and attentive even though I was bugging him late at night. What puts him above all others is how he follows up and doesn't give up until you've fixed whatever the problem is. For myself, the allergy queen, he prescribed a medicine and a nose spray and had me check in with him 7 days later via the phone, and we spoke that often until he had me on a plan that was working wonders. Looks like I'll be driving that 45 minutes next time I need him!

Nurse comes out and calls a patients name, no answer receptionist says i think hes in the bathroom…read more Nurse sighs loudly & leaves redflag 4. The patient heard it in the bathroom due to being a small office. The patient came out of the bathroom confused, a minute later &asked what was going on to the reception. New patient loud personality talk type. Patient ask to set an appt to see there doc to increase medicine Recept say the earliest they can see the doctor is tomorrow. Patient says well if they are seeing the doctor, they might as well see them about their ear infection becasue he cant hear well. he gets an appointment for the next day and leaves. Ge left the two receptionists talk. 1 says, oh he had a "personality". The other says, "yea they came in to increase their medicine but then they switched it to their ear, so i am not even going to put that in the reason for the visit tomorrow"redflag 5 I get called back into the patient's room and Nurse Practitioner (NP) comes in and says she doent understand the paperwork. I said thats fine lets go through it together Army paperwork is confusing. She asks, if im active or reserve. I say Guard. She says okay that maters because you guys do different things. I say oh no the paperwork is the same for both, i am just trying to figure out if i should or shouldnt be doing different exercises and tasks due to pain i have. She looks at me and says "no it matters, there is a difference" (red flag 6) I tell her i dont care if you pass me or fail me on anything or everything. I am just trying to figure out my limitations are and what i should or shouldnt be doing. she filled out the papers. I tell her everything i have been doing with/without pain. She kept asking questions if i could do certain exercises example deadlift, i say i havent done them because i dont know if i should be doing them since back surgery. Her response was most of the time "oh but you can do them right??" My response was i dont know if i should be doing them thats why im here. So we circled back around to this later. She says oh you said you done this before and i said no i havent becasue i dont know if i should. We circle around to it again later and you can tell she doesnt like that i wont tell her if i can do it or not, as in i wont give her a yes or no becasue i truly dont know if i should be doing this. Also you can tell at this point she is ignoring my responses of "i dont know if i should be doing those so i havent" becasue thats not the answer she is looking for redflag7 Got to the 2 mile run portion. She asked if i can do it. I tell her i run 1 mile fine then have back pain i have been running for the past month and cant get over 1 mile before pain. She says oh you should take medicine before you run to reduce swelling in your back. I ask i shouldnt take medicine everyday though right? She said no dont take it everyday. I tell her so i cant run 2 miles everyday. She says no you can run 2 miles everyday. I say oh you said i should stop running when i feel pain after a mile, and i shouldnt take medicine everyday. She said correct. I said so i cant run 2 miles everyday currently. She said no you can run 2 miles. We went in this loop for a couple more times. Before i realise she just doesnt want to tell me to run or not run. Redflag 8 So we spent 30 min going through the paperwork. She said i will give it to the doctor to sign. You can pick it up tomorrow. I come back after being called and told it was ready. I walk in the receptionist was doing nothing. I walk in tell the receptionist why i am there. She frantically hurrys and tries to find it and cant. I was thinking calm down. She leaves then comes back and hands me the paperwork. And it has crossed out everything the NP marked the day before. It said i could do everything. I asked why did everything change. The receptionist said "i thought you wanted to be able to do everything", i say "i do, but i dont know if i should be doing everything if i have pain". took the paperwork back frantically went in the back & "fixed it". Came back and handed it to me, it looked sloppy unprofessional redflag 9. started to go through it and had a lot of little mistakes, it said i cant swim 800 meters & i can swim 1200 meters. The receptionist tried grabbing it out of my hand, i said let me go through the rest to see if there is anything else so we dont have to keep going back and forth. Other receptionist agreed tried to calm down the frantic receptionist. So i give it back to her again, then she makes a bunch of changes in front of me without consulting doctor which is odd. Then gave it back to me. I read it through 1 more time&said "oh sorry but you just checking you did a physical health assessment&that needs to be changed because we never did 1 or i need to attach the results of the assessment". She said "just change whatever you want on the form i dont care"redflag 10. So i turned around with the paperwork left, threw it away, &found a new doctor

Tuesday nothing and spoke to the manager Tanya. By Thursday 3/20/25 at 3PM I still had not heard anything and called the office and was told they still hadn't received communication from the provider. I was told I would hear something by the end of the day. I just took off work and made an appointment for 3/21/25 after my US they cancelled my appointment with Dr. Ganz due to a delivery which I understand. I called today 3/25/25 and again spoke to Tanya about my concerns. Tanya blamed Dr. Ganz and refused to allow me to transfer care. Tanya then said since they can't meet my need they will terminate me as a patient and she will no longer allow me to schedule with their office and said she was ending the call since she would no longer be assisting me. I wasn't yelling or raising my voice. I had legitimate concerns and instead of trying to resolve it I was terminated as a patient? Tanya refused to fill out an OFI report which is an Opportunity for Improvement report against a situation. Tanya then refused to get me to her manager.
