The second breakfast I got the omelette again and my husband tried the sweet potato waffles. Wow! Very sweet but best treat waffles I've had. I also took some smoothies to go. We were going to Lake Powell and visited this cafe before. Food was perfect, ambiance is good, but service! The server forgot to bring us 1 meal (we were waiting for 30 minutes until we realized that it was not going to be prepared (server had required amount of portions on the notes, but not on the receipt for the kitchen). She also brought us the wrong drink, so we thought that it was the right one and later we got what we ordered. Were confused a little bit and after we were charged for both of them. We ordered 2 coffee mocha, we've got 1 instead. I had to ask here about one more and then I got latte :( Had to ask redo it to mocha. We've been growing tired of the same burger and fries on the road and craved something more healthy when daughter suggested this place. Turned out to be a true delight. The Hawaiian salmon salad is fresh and refreshing and so so yummy! We also had the crepes with steak and arugula and I loved the contrast btw the crepes and the tasty steak! Fried okra (3.5/5): I don't find this appetizer often at other restaurants so I want to give this a try. The batter was just right. It was still crispy when it was served. Butternut squash soup (3.5/5): The taste is a little bit bland but I like its creaminess. Chicken wings (4/5): I love the flavor and the tenderness of the chicken wings. I would like to have more after finished the dish. Oxtail entree (4/5): The portion is general really good with the price. It marinated well for the flavor of the oxtail which I like. It served with Mac & Cheese and Zucchini which I love the combination. Meat loaf entree (3/5): The taste of the meatloaf is just ok compared with the oxtail entree. You definitely have to try their Navajo bread. It is so good! We ordered an extra side of just the bread for $3.50, and it comes on a huge plate. ​I'd probably skip the Spam fried rice, though. It's $22 a plate and the portion is okay but not shareable my 11-year-old finished the whole thing himself! If you're craving fried rice, you're better off at a Chinese spot. We were lucky enough to find this Gem our first morning in Page. We were coming back from a morning hike and arrived about 1030am. They serve breakfast till 11am. At 11am they switch over to lunch. The menu is large, diverse, and the food all delicious! Or server day one, left a small pot of coffee for me. The second day, the server didn't. We were in main dining room both days in a large comfy booth. They have 3 dining rooms plus a Bar-Lounge area. Next time i am here, I will get the Croque Madame again. Its Devine!! Came here for brunch on a Saturday around 1pm with a group of six. We were told it would be a 15-20 minute wait, even though there were plenty of tables open. After about 30 minutes they asked if we'd want to squeeze into a booth... The booths are huge so we had no problem fitting, but it was annoying we had to wait all that time for nothing. Once we got seated, the experience improved. Our server was helpful and quick, and our food ended up coming out pretty quickly. One note: if you want breakfast, make sure to get here early. They were no longer offering breakfast by the time we sat, and I think the waitress mentioned they stop serving it at 11. I really wanted breakfast, but ended up getting the grilled chicken plate with rice and veggies. The chicken portion was large, and pretty flavorful, although a bit overcooked. Ok WOW!!! Phoenix residents visiting the beautiful page and we didn't expect to have one of the best breakfasts ever! Husband and I had breakfast here on Friday morning, greeted and seated right away! The service was kind and very quick! Additionally the location is very clean and cozy. We ate the Oxtail Skillet, Cajun Fried Chicken Benny and a side of cheesy grits. WOOOOW!!! I'm not even the biggest fan of oxtail but it was so savory, juicy, and tender - we were both blown away! We were sat in the upper level for a late lunch. Before we got our food, they were bleaching the tables, putting chairs up right next to us and sweeping all around us! I asked if they would like us to move, but they said no, (plenty of room in the lower level to seat the 2 of us out of their way) and brought our food to eat while employees repeatedly walked by waiting for us to finish. Decided to just ask for check and get out of their way, and no bill was presented, just a total to sign for after she read what was on it... I asked to see the itemized bill because it did not add up to what I had estimated and there were charges added that she did not read off. Not cool. The Navajo tacos are just the fry bread with their chili, lettuce, tomatoes, onion and a little cheese on top. I prefer just dipping the fry bread into the chili because the bread will stay crispy. After the good reviews we were quite a bit disappointed in the Rustic Thistle on a recent trip to Page. We went for dinner and it was clear immediately that they must do the majority of their business in the breakfast/lunch hours. The interior was set up to be sunny and bright and suited for brunching, and it was way too bright and "hotel lobby" like for dinner. We sat in the bar because it had the most "dinner" vibe. We had looked at the menu before arriving and had ideas of what we wanted. One of our party wanted something that apparently had been on the lunch menu. She asked for it and they said they would not make it. My primary reason for choosing the Rustic Thistle was that I wanted to try the Navajo taco. I am not sure if the construction is the same everywhere, but I read from the reviews that their Navajo taco here is their fry bread topped with chili and some other toppings. Because I wanted to try the fry bread specifically, I ordered it deconstructed with the chili and toppings on the side. This worked out great and everyone was able to try a bit of the fry bread. It was really delicious and the best thing anyone at the table had for dinner. The chili was good too, but I was a little disappointed in the combo of the chili and the fry bread. I expected more and was glad I had gotten them separate. Others at my table had the jamaican beef patties (ok, filling was very mushy and we were concerned about why it had the "undercooked meat" start next to it on the menu). nachos, fried okra (bland and strangely served with plain mayo for dipping), shrimp and grits, salmon bowl, chicken fried steak, and the squash soup. Everything was ok but not great. I got a lot of grief since I was the one who chose this restaurant. Page doesn't seem to have much of a fine dining scene so I think you are better off sticking with the fast-casual places and not expecting too much. I recently traveled to Page, Arizona from Virginia with my family and the next morning woke up and had breakfast at the Rustic Thimble. We had no real expectations though we saw it had good ratings only, as did the restaurant we had dinner at the night before, which turned out to be fine. The Rustic Thimble is well above "fine" though. The place is bright, the vibe is positive, the staff were pleasant, the menu and the food were very good, and above all - we all had a good meal and a great start to the day. It was a diamond in the rough where my wife and I - and my parents - all agreed it was a very special place. We spoke to the hostess and manager on the way out and gave them our kudos, plaudits and praise for being such a nice experience on a very unsuspecting morning. Locally owned and of the utmost quality, I highly recommend the Rustic Thistle. If I ever find myself in the area again, we'll definitely be back. BTW - we had coffee, orange juice, the grits with fresh and dried fruit, the chicken & waffles with the hot honey, a side of turkey bacon, and an omelet. All recommended. read more

We came here with our dog as it states pets are allowed on both google and apple maps, only to find out that is incorrect. It was fine as our dog is a trained service animal, however the hostess wouldn't seat us unless we showed her our dog's "paperwork". Per ADA guidelines staff cannot demand registration papers or require a special ID tag. You are only permitted to ask if the animal is a service dog and what task they are trained to perform. We kindly showed our dog's credentials and let the hostess know this was not necessary and best not to ask future patrons for this. She said the manager required her to ask. Our meal was good otherwise, but management should take note of ADA requirements to avoid a possible lawsuit in the future. read more
