I took a short weekend trip to Page and we only had time for one meal. While Page isn't a huge town, a couple of spots were in contention. We decided on Gone West Family Restaurant based on their solid reviews and we thought that American food (especially with a Western theme) would be the way to go. When in Rome! We stopped by on a Saturday evening for dinner. Parking is easy in the complimentary lot they share with several other businesses including a Chinese restaurant right next door. Ambiance (4.5/5): Pretty much what I was hoping for. Gone West is a spacious restaurant with one large dining room and another large dining room. The difference? The one in the back has a stage where they play live music. So, if you want a quieter atmosphere, choose the first room. If you want to enjoy some live music while you dine and drink, choose the back room. We sat in the back room. A band played various covers while we were there which we enjoyed. The decor is also awesome with a lot of Western and country decor including John Wayne, Johnny Cash, and more. Service (4/5): The hostess was super nice and accommodating which was a nice way to kick off the experience. Our waiter was pretty solid. He could have stopped by a little more frequently, but overall, did quite well. Drinks (4/5): I went with an Arnold Palmer (they only had pink lemonade unfortunately) so not a lot to right home about. With that being said, they have a decent beer list and several cocktails. Food (5/5): I went with the Chicken fried steak sandwich with spiral fries. CFS on a sandwich?! I couldn't say no. Country fried steak is one of my favorite Southern dishes, but I've never had it on a sandwich before. Check out their concept: breaded steak on a bed of mashed potatoes topped with green onions, gravy, and a fried egg with your choice of side. This was a great sammie! It was quite messy, but given how delicious it was, I didn't mind. The fries were delicious too, and it was a generous portion. The type of portion where you can easily have leftovers. Everything I was hoping for and more in this dining experience. While the food options in Page aren't vast (and as impressive as larger cities), Gone West should be at the top of your list! read more

Seated an hour before closing, but it seemed like they were done for the night based on the meal. Interesting western vibe inside. Food arrived quick, server was friendly...but disappointing across the board on the meal. Two kids got burgers, hard and lacked flavor. One got bbq pork, just didn't taste great. The country fried steak sandwich had hopes...and honestly may have been the best of what we had. We had all 3 types of fries, each underwhelming - but sweet potato fries probably the best. Drove from CA to AZ and managed to sneak in before they closed the doors. Since we were at the tail end of the dinner service took a bit to get seated but once the waitress swung by she took our orders quickly and food came out promptly. I ordered the ribeye, buddy ordered the fish and chips, and son ordered the macc & cheese. Ribeye was cooked to order (medium rare) but green beans were so so for me (lots of garlic, julienne cut), onions / mushroom sauce paired with the mashed potatoes and gravy were fine but a bit much with the ribeye for my tastes. On a Sunday night there was no entertainment. The signs seemed to suggest Saturday is the day for this. Waitress was friendly but so terribly slow. Definitely not worth of a $10 tip but what can one do. Ribeye was good. Didn't like the seasoning rub on the corn on the cob though. Salad had old bits like the tomato which was soft and soggy. Saturday. December 20, 2025. Linner. Visited here with my wife and son. We were headed to Zion National Park and hadn't eaten all day. By the way, Zion is magnificent! If you haven't gone you should plan to visit especially in the winter off-season. My son picked this based on Yelp reviews. We waited about seven minutes by the front door to be seated. There was a single waitress working the entire restaurant. We were one of four families inside. The waitress seemed friendly and brought us waters. There were lots of Western themed art on the walls, see attached photos. I liked the family friendly atmosphere. We ordered the Cowboy pulled pork fries, $20. These were steak fries loaded with bbq pulled pork, green onions, shredded Monterey jack cheese and house bbq dust. Lots of fries, and toppings were great. I ordered the signature John Wayne bbq burger with onion rings, $20. This burger came with house burger sauce, onion rings on top, bourbon bbq sauce, cheddar cheese, applewood smoked bacon and a brioche bun. A massive burger and plently of french fries. This place stacks up the food with each dish. Service could have been faster, but we left full for a reasonable price. Loved the artwork inside. Recommend to visit here if you are hungry. If you're visiting Page, Arizona, Gone West Family Restaurant is a place you absolutely should not miss. We stopped in for a meal and were impressed from the moment we walked through the door. The food was excellent -- full of rich flavor and served in very generous portions. You definitely won't leave hungry! One standout was the cheesecake chimichanga, which was truly out of this world. Crispy, creamy, and wonderfully indulgent, it was easily one of the best desserts we've ever tried. Our server, Reality, made the experience even better. We went in for dinner last night.... Place was dead silent no music, just quiet whispers of few tables (80% empty) . Poor service 1/10 we waited to be seated and almost left before someone finally came over. After sitting down and looking at the menu we left for 3 reasons - during the time we were there we didn't see any movement from staff, didn't even get water for the table or see ANY food come out for any table. OK, so this one's a bit of a mixed review. We're tourists in town seeing the sites, and we stopped by here to have dinner. We had all been wanting steak, and this place seemed to have good yelp reviews, indicating it was a good steakhouse in town. However, when we sat down and saw the menu prices, which were much higher than had been listed online in pictures, most of the family changed their mind. They had a New York strip option (striploin) a $45 in the ribeye at $46. My wife had the country fried steak, which she said was good or equal to Cracker Barrel's. My son had the barbecue burger which he enjoyed, and my youngest daughter had the kids meal cheese burger sliders, which she liked a lot. For my part, I had a ribeye, which at $46 was a little bit steep. Having said that, if it is an excellent steak, I have no problem paying that price. However, this wasn't an excellent steak. The steak was cooked order, and that in itself was pretty epic as the steak was really paper thin and mostly fat. I'm amazed that you could make a steak that thin, medium rare (I really ordered rare, but I had seen some reviews stating to order it Rare, if you wanted, medium rare). My two issues were the steak were the thickness and the amount of fat on it. I'm not talking about marbling fat that makes a good ribeye, I'm talking about the big chunks of pure fat that most people don't eat. I've never actually seen a ribeye that had as much non-marbled fat on it, as this one did. I'd estimate that approximately 40% of the ribeye was fat. The overall flavor was fairly good, just not worth the price. This is not a steak that I would expect at a a steakhouse, this is a steak that I would more I would expect at a Cracker Barrel or a Denny's. I'd say that was pretty much overall the experience, decently good food, but definitely not worth the price. If our overall ticket had been about half the price to 2/3 of the price, I'd give this place a 4 stars. Add the current meal prices, it really sits at about a 2 1/2 star experience. The service was somewhat difficult to rate, as we had a very nice waitress who was obviously overworked and handling too much, as it took an hour to get our food(also two parties our size who came in the same time or after us, got their food significantly before us)but she was very attentive to us when she had the ability to come over. We did visualize her running around the whole restaurant, so any lapse in service really definitely wasn't her fault. read more

When we go on vacation- I try to find local businesses to support when it comes to eating out. Non chain restaurants, "mom and pop" lil hole and the wall places. This is how we have come to this establishment for dinner one of our nights in Page. The first half you see when you come inside is a big regular eating area. Lots of tables and booths. The back part is just as big but looks more for parties/ special events and can be rented out for such. But on reg days that it's not being used for that- it looks like they have an almost nightly house band that plays in the evenings. The tables here were mainly long shareable tables but since it was not busy at all when we arrived- they let us choose where we wanted to sit. The band was just about to begin playing. What we ordered- Chicken Fried steak: pretty good , they didn't skimp on the gravy which I love. We liked the fries because they were like twisted wedges. BBQ chicken plate: hubby said it was ok. Nothing special but the onion rings were good. Rib platter: it's a lot of food, my son liked it- could hardly finish it! Baked potato was pretty big too. The music was a nice touch. A lil dinner and a show. The waitress was super friendly and the food came out fairly quick. No complaints here. It was a nice place to have a family dinner. read more

I wanted to share my recent experience at Gone West Wild Restaurant from this week on Tuesday, and unfortunately, it was far from what I expected based on the positive reviews. To begin, the Chicken Fried Chicken was dry, overcooked, and far too salty. Similarly, the hamburger patty was just as disappointing--tough and flavorless. My daughter ordered a Grilled Cheese Sandwich, and she couldn't even finish it, calling it "nasty." We left 6:27 pm, and end up at McDonalds right after, 6:39 pm. Perhaps the most frustrating part of our visit was when I asked about BBQ ribs, only to be told that they wouldn't be available until 7:30 PM, this is only 5 pm or so. However, I noticed other customers were being served ribs right away. When I questioned this inconsistency, the response was that I could order ribs and pay for a second dinner. I was honestly at a loss for words. At best, the food felt like something you'd expect from an overcooked TV dinner. We came in after hearing so many great reviews, but this visit was an enormous letdown. I hope this feedback helps, as I'd love to see improvements made to the food quality and customer service. Fun small town diner. A lot of Western decor and some good hometown food. The BLT was fantastic with some avocado added to it. The bacon was a bit chewy though. Reminded me of my childhood. Had an interesting experience at Gone West! My Husband and I got to Page late and was looking for a home cooked meal before seeing horseshoe bend in the morning. Gone West is located in a small strip mall. As soon as you walk in, you're greeted with interesting trinkets and art all over the walls. All the way in the back, there's a stage. A band will play covers from time to time and ask people to come up! In terms of food, I was pretty impressed. Highly recommend the pot roast with mashed potatoes and corn. We came for dinner. We had eaten there before and found the food good and prices reasonable, so I wasn't worried about overspending. I ordered a burger and my wife ordered a salad and some tacos. Service was very good, our water came quickly. while waiting for our meal, we noticed that the decor was rather dated, although that may have been on purpose. We didn't know what to expect as the reviews were all over the place. Here's what we found. We got into Page on a Monday at about 7:00 pm and wanted some place convenient and decent. We did not have a reservation but they were not that busy and sat us in the front room (not where the band and karaoke were). This totally touristy cowboy themed restaurant/bar serves up good food and is kinda fun! We stuck with the cowboy basics: meat and potatoes. Enjoyed a perfectly seasoned and cooked medium rare NY strip steak, baked potato, and mixed veg. My buddy ordered the very tasty Arizona chili and a loaded baked potato.
