J & J bait and tackle, 8339 US-19 S Port Richey, FL 34668,…read moremy worst fishing tackle experience ever in my life - I am not kidding. Enter the store with my twins and we all said hello to the gentleman and got no answer. Looking around what they sell, i picked up 2 fish grips for my children, 2 packs of frozen shrimp and floats. While doing so the guy said "don't touch this" to my son as he wanted to touch a lure on the wall, and "hey! Leave that" to my daughter touching a tackle box, already irritating me by his tone to my children, who in fact are extremely used with tackle and fishing. I then paid my stuff, and once done i asked him who does he buy from. He said Stanley and Big Rock wholesalers. I then gave him a pack of my nat shrimp, telling him that's the stuff I do and we do work with both, and that I m telling him this is a free sample for him to give it a try and asking him if he have a business card so I'll be able to send him a catalog, and see if he'll be interested into carrying any of my stuff. He refused to take my free sample, and say if interested he will buy from the wholesalers, no need of sample or catalog. Felt like a slap in my face, never seen at least the politeness of taking my sample and giving me his card. I then told him I never experienced such unwelcoming behavior from start to end, gave him back my stuff and asked for refund. As we left, a gentleman entered and say hello. The 3 of us answered him back, but no sound from the tackle store owner... i never wrote a bad experience and shared it like this, but this one being so bad and at the opposite of what the majority of fishing tackle retailers behavior is, that I found it worth to share to warn people about going to this place. 1st ever for me, but not happy i had to do it. But clearly this was needed. Patrick Sebile

I'm absolutely blown away by the 1 star review. Kyle K has absolutely lost it. Dennis was…read moreincredibly nice and a joy to be around the entire time. We asked questions all day every day and not once did he belittle us for doing so. He was always very responsive and had a great "teacher" presence. Now the reason for the 5-star review: PRICE - No one comes close to their price. Literally less than half the competition. And don't let other companies tell you that SSS doesn't give you all the certs that you need. They do. QUALITY - Dennis' instruction, teaching, attitude, personality, were all tops. Absolutely incredible. His father is also a very nice man. FLEXIBILITY - I was going on a trip to Bonaire in 3 weeks after I started searching for a scuba license, I brought in 2 other divers to get certified with me but Dennis made sure that I received my dive license in time on very short notice so that I was able to dive on my trip. Also, he asked our group, 7-8 of us if where we wanted to dive for our checkout dives which was thoughtful of him as well. TEACHING SKILL - It was quite obvious that Dennis was a professional teacher (he's a science teacher as well for those who don't know). His teaching background not only gave him great skills to instill the best ways to dive, but as he is a science teacher, he is extremely knowledgeable why rules are as they are and of the ecosystem around you. CONTRAST TO COMPETITION - If you take anything away from my review, read these next few sentences. When I dove in Bonaire, a few days after my 2 checkout dives, I ran into hundreds of divers. Bonaire is a diving oasis in the south Caribbean and its known for its diving, I can't tell you how many people I saw diving incorrectly. Tons of people had tanks strapped in half way down their backs (if they lost their regulators, they wouldn't be able to simply reach behind their back to grab them). Tons of people went into the water, without their masks on and without the regulator in their mouth. Tons of people didn't check their equipment and clear their hoses or valves correctly... I didn't see more than a handful of divers on my whole trip that took the care and understood what they were doing as much as I did from my teachings with Dennis. COMPETENCE - Summarizing my above statements, after my classes with Dennis and Super Sports and Scuba, I was just simply more competent than the vast majority of other divers out there. If you live anywhere within a few hours of New Port Richey, you'd be foolish to go anywhere else.
