    Lots of seating

Happy to continue my fandom of the Rusty Lantern with a review of their new location in SoPo. Before I begin, I just want to say that this possible trend of expanding Rusty Lantern markets at Irving stations is a major win for this area as our current state of gas-station-convenience-markets is pretty sad. This new location seems as good, if not better than the first. By better, I mean bigger. There seems to be a bigger coffee bar, more tables for seating and a roomier food prep area. There also seems to be a kids karate school upstairs in the same building. While watching two adorable sisters run upstairs to their class, the mother in me thought this could easily be a quality spot to grab them a quick meal after class on a school night. Quality is what makes the Rusty Lantern different from other convenience stores. The prepared food easily match your favorite deli in quality. They also pass other places by in the quality of their coffee, and surprisingly, soda! I am not a fan of soda in general, but not all soda is created the same. Maine Root is definitely a better choice if looking for soda, and they have Maine Root on tap! They have crazy good indulgent treats like gigantic brownies and hand sized chocolate chip cookies served warm. The next time you are heading to Irving to fill up your car, find your way to this spot!

If Cumberland s original owners could keep 99 cent coffee for 15 years I see this as just a large foreign conglomerates greed. As of today it's $2.47 for a large iced coffee and when the gift card I got runs out I'm running out on them. Not joining a rewards program so my personal info can get stolen or sold!!

Told her I had the slip but she said I would still have to pay for a new one. Considering that it is their own namebrand milk they don't stand behind it. The other reason that I don't stop anymore is because their gas pumps are messed up way too much and they don't fix them in a timely manner so I feel like there's really no reason to go in there anymore, too many other places. and the other issue I have had with them is I have called them maybe four times with a question and they always pick up the phone and hang it up. I just called them a minute ago to ask if their pumps were up and running, and again they picked it up and hung up the phone. I would stay clear of this place.

I made a yelp account just to tip people off to these guys. I brought my Toyota Corolla here for an…read moreinspection. They asked for my registration to make sure it was insured and everything. They failed me, citing too foggy headlights, an airbag light, and the guards of my front bumper were a little torn from a snowbank collision from my brother. The cited $650 worth of work for all this - about $130 for headlight cleaning, $180 just to see what was wrong with the airbag (not to fix it), and the rest to replace the entire front skirt of my car. I took it to my handyman stepdad who polished the headlights with toothpaste and vinegar and screwed the front skirt into a whole part. The airbags on a lot of Toyotas have a semi-famous recall, so a dealership fixed that for me for free. I passed my inspection without an issue. They still charged me $20 for the inspection, since pass or fail you still pay, which is fine. However, they forgot to return my registration, and I had to turn around halfway home to get it. I should have remembered it before I left, but all in all, I don't like this place. They were friendly enough, I will say. My contacts in the area say this business is used to fleecing owners of expensive german cars rather than dealing with more economical brands.

I let the gas go almost to empty knowing that I could make it to the next gas station. After I filled it, the car would not start. This happened numerous times. I would wait and be patient and it would start. On this particular day I was in Portland, Maine three hours from home and my car got stuck in traffic and would not start. I took the car to John's Service Station in South Portland. John, the owner looked at it. Asked me what I did for work and said that it needed $3500. worth of work on it. I talked with him for a long while and asked if it was possible to do the least amount of work and get it running again. "It needs a sensor and it needs $3500 work) I talked for a long time asking too many times if it really needed that much work to get it going and what was the least amount of work I could put into it. He kept saying $3500. and I would have a problem with it for many years. I didn't know what to do. Put the money into a new used car or fix this one. I finally decided to fix this one. He ended up putting a catalytic converter on it. When I went to pick it up, it smelled. I drove it home, called and they said bring it back. I brought it back and when they looked at it, a certain part was not correct so they ordered a new one and told me to drive this one until the new one came. I drove 10 minutes and the fumes were so bad, I got sick. Called the station and I talked with the son. I was on my way to a wedding, I could not drive the car, I needed a lender. He finally gave me one after talking with his father. I came back after the weekend. Got the car. I decided to take it to a reputable car mechanic closer to home. He looked at the car and said that what they replaced would cost in his garage $120. He had just replaced one for someone else. I called John's Service STation once again complaining of the smell and was told by the father that they replaced the WHOLE exhaust system and I should not be having a problem. I went back to the mechanic and was told that the mufflier had not been replaced. John the father basically was a character that does not meet my value of trust. He lied to me. He was not clear with me. After talking with him for a long time, my understanding was that in order to drive my car it needed $3500 worth of work. Plus asking me what I did for a living and letting me drive a car with fumes so bad that after 10 minutes I felt really sick.
