The Beer Factory in Seven Hills, is one of Australia's growing micro-breweries. It is kitted out…read morewith everything you need to brew your own beer in a professional manner without any of the associated mess and bother of home brewing equipment. Brewing 50 litres at a time, you end up paying approximately half of the amount paid for packaged beer. Everything you need is there on the spot and all the help you need is on hand. Make one of over 200 beers from simple recipes and ingredients, leave the beer there to ferment, go back two three weeks later and bottle it. The bottles and crown caps are there as well. It is environmentally friendly, the glass bottles can be reused many times and reusing also brings the cost down. You can even leave your beer there if you haven't enough room to store it at home. The beer lasts for 12 months if refrigerated and five months if kept at room temperature. Splitting 50 litres with a friend or two is a good way of having beer always on hand but not having so much that you can't use it. Custom labels can be printed making it a great present. One of the benefits of making your own beer is that according to Steve Boag, the mastermind of the brewery, is you can't get a hangover from the beer. There are no articifical colourings or preservatives used in the beer, only natural grains, water and sugars. Name most brands on the market and Steve will give you the recipe - make your own for 50% of the cost.

I sort of stumbled upon this place as I was making my way back into Sydney from a rather long hike…read more I had decided to jump off the bus for a beer, and then found this rather nice place tucked away behind the pub. It turns out, as tends to be the case with most of these small breweries, that the beer, well, was pretty awesome. In fact, they have a number of different ones on offer as well. Even though it seems that most of the seating is outside, they also have a pretty nice upstairs area as well, and also a restaurant. This is certainly a place to check out.

Really cool brewery that is only a few months old and just cleaned up at the latest craft beer…read moreawards. You should 1st try the 'kite flyer' cream ale. It's their most popular and came highly recommended by the bar staff who said it 'just flies out the door'. Having said that, all of the beers are quite unique and tasty- got through 6 of the 9 beers on offer and wasn't disappointed at all. Each of their beers has a little description about its background/ where it came- some of which are quite interesting. If you get a chance, read up on the previous tenant- Really cool relaxed and easy going atmosphere, full of older people and has a welcoming feel- which is a nice change to the short skirts, meat heads and delinquents you get this time of night right next door at Mona pub. Also do take aways!! All the food looked great too. I tried the margarita pizza and the chips. Both awesome. In some magical turn of events the chips somehow tasted like those cheese and bacon balls when you eat them with the dip. Something I highly recommend.

Great hangout, cold beers…read more We showed up later, so we were able to find a seat and get quick access to the main bar. We ordered in person but each table has the ability to order directly to the table. The upstairs bar closes early, but the party remained downstairs The pints are served full and cold. The barkeeps are super nice. It is a place that is more mature than the surrounding clubs, so despite being loud and dimly lit, it will not have the rowdiness and strobing light of the youth filled locales. Great for chilling.

I recently went back here for the rooftop cinemas and watched Die Hard with my friends on a Tuesday…read morenight. We booked online for 10 bucks each and came here around 7PM. The movie didn't start right away, so we grabbed some food. They have pretty good deals from Mon-Thurs. $15 for parm and pint on Tuesdays! And its huge and you also get fries and salad. I didn't feel like eating that so I got the mushroom and haloumi burger, which was really nice. It came with these ginormous wedges - both regular and sweet potato. Good but too thick for my taste. Had some of my friend's chips, which was yummy. After we ate, we proceeded to the roof top. It was a long way up, had to climb numerous stairs! The set up of the movie was really cool. They had the tables laid out and had our names on paper reserved on the table. Mine said Rachel Q and her crew, which I thought was really cool. We sat down and they started handing out headphones. Its pretty cool because they are loud enough and you feel like you're in the actual theatre. For the 10 bucks, you also get a glass of red or white wine or a beer, which is a really great deal. In addition, they passed out popcorn! Huge fan, will come back for more silent movie fun!
