I hired Ruth & Ruth earlier this year as a present to myself, and I cannot recommend them enough. Ruth came out to visit my home and met with me prior to any cleaning services to give me a quote and to introduce herself and her business. She was the second quote I had received, and although the cost was higher, I had zero hesitations about the services she and her employees would provide. You could tell that she truly cares for her employees as family (at least that's the impression I got), and respects them as individuals. She then sent me a detailed quote of the monthly and bi-weekly cost with the services that are included monthly. Very professional and well put together. My LAST cleaning with Ruth and Ruth was June 5th and I paid her the contracted price of $145 (but I, always, pay her with 3 $50 bills cash). My husband and I live in a 14 yr old 2454 sq ft home in DD. We have 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, a den and we have no pets or children plus, we travel a lot so are, frequently, gone. Not a dirty home but routine cleaning. I missed my May cleaning as we were out of town but Ruth charged me $50 extra for the missed cleaning. On June 9th, I received an email from her stating that she was increasing my cleaning rate to $205 which is a 41.4% increase within the month, making my cleaning cost over $100/hr. To me, this was unacceptable. After checking around and talking with Arrowcreek homeowner friends, who have homes bigger than mine and pay less, I have found a referred licensed housekeeper for cheaper than my original contract bid with Ruth. I have no complaints about Ruth's cleaning or team work although, sometimes the team members are different so the work consistency is not always there. Communication can, sometimes, be an issue. Some workers are better than others but acceptable. Suggestion: do your homework and ask friends for referrals. read more

I have been using this cleaning service for about a year. Though more expensive than previous cleaners they made my house look brand new after their initial clean. The home was gleaming. They do a lot of extra work others cleaners don't do. Blinds, fans, inside microwave and some fridge services, under cushions...We had some adjustments to make here and there with preferences some months but they fixed any concerns with the next cleaning. Phenomenal cleaning service! After firing my old service after over a year, due to declining quality, I went to another service, and promptly fired them after one poor cleaning. I then found Ruth & Ruth, and I'm not looking back. As soon as I submitted my online quote, Ruth called and came over - on a Saturday. She quoted a fair price, gave me a great cleaning day (Friday!), and was so pleasant and professional. Ruth and her team cleaned my house top to bottom, even though it's been professionally cleaned every two weeks since we moved in (it was brand new) 16 months ago. She found mildew in the shower, floor tiles that were left with a film, and a host of other problems that weren't addressed in my previous services. Remember the Seinfeld episode where the male student/actor cleans Jerry's house, and for days he's finding things this superman cleaned? I feel that way about Ruth & Ruth. She cleaned the inside of the fridge, she moved the furniture and vacuumed everywhere, and she scrubbed my tiles until they shined. When we first found Ruth & Ruth, we thought we'd found our dream cleaning service, after suffering through a host of awful services. However, after cleaning our home for well over a year, we had several problems that came to a head the last time they cleaned for us. I emailed Ruth (the younger owner to ask her if they could do something extra the next time they cleaned for us, and to express concern about some things that were continually happening when her team cleaned for us. I had to email her whenever I had concerns because there was a language barrier with her team. As it was, this last time they came, I had overslept, and I rushed around trying to get ready for them. When they got there, I said I was glad that they were late, because I had overslept, and they looked at me like I was an alien. Later, I realized they hadn't understood what I had said, because I found a message on my machine, saying they couldn't get in the house because they didn't have a key. WHAT??? They never had a key to my house, they just came in every time without ringing the bell, which was very disconcerting to me at first, but I got used to it. Anyway, this last time they cleaned for me, I found several things that I contacted Ruth about, and she got very snippy with me when she responded. One thing that is very important to my husband is how they make the bed, and he had to remake the bed EVERY time they cleaned. I told her this, and she said these were her exact words. "We now have 68 clients, and we can't remember what each one wants, and we come to your house infrequently, so we can't remember how to do your bed." Really, it's so hard to remember to tuck in the sheets? Also, they always put the rugs down in the wrong places in my bathroom. This seems like a small thing, but I'm disabled, and it's very difficult for me to get down and pick them up and put them in the right places. I mentioned this, and she told me the team didn't know I was disabled. Really, after coming into my home for well over a year, and seeing me struggle to get around, sit, stand, stoop, and bend, they didn't know I was disabled? Obviously, this is a group of cleaning people who don't pay much attention to their surroundings. This was evident to me by the way they always put my alarm clock back facing the wall instead of my bed!!!!! Ruth & Ruth cleaned fairly well. (Always in a rush), but it is clear that their customers are only numbers to them, certainly not people. If you want a cookie cutter approach to your cleaning, and you don't care if you matter or not, then this is the company for you. If you want to actually matter to your cleaning company, and you want them to pay attention to your needs and wants, then try Krystal Clean Housekeeping. (See my review.) They are a caring, and efficient cleaning service who actually care about their clients and their needs, and put the alarm clock back where you can see it, too! I would highly recommend them, where I would never recommend Ruth & Ruth. Love them. It's pretty awesome coming home from a vacation and have a sparkling clean house that you didn't have to do yourself. We started with Ruth & Ruth with a move-in clean, after we had purchased and done some renovations to our house. This process was pretty hectic with regards to scheduling, where we wanted cleaning done after the counters and carpet but before the movers--Ruth was extremely flexible and easy to work with, even when I asked for some last-minute schedule changes. Once we got all of our stuff in, we've had them come regularly (at first once and month, then twice a month after we got a dog). The girls that come are reliable, friendly, and work extremely hard to make my house sparkling and a joy to come home to. Ruth has consistently asked for feedback on my cleaning to make sure that she is meeting my expectations, and has quickly resolved any questions or concerns that I have. Their prices seem reasonable to me, and definitely worth the benefit I get from it. One note: Ruth mentioned to me that they don't generally do move-in/move-out cleans unless you are going to have them clean your house regularly after that (at least that's what I heard). She said that it's just too much work to do those really deep cleans and the price they would have to charge to justify it would be outrageous. But, she's definitely willing to work with you for those types of cleanings if you want to work with them over a longer period of time. I have used Ruth and Ruth To clean my house for nearly three years. In that time, I have had no complaints, only great joy every time I come home to my clean house. The cleaning crew is always friendly And very efficient. They'd make my children's beds very thoughtfully, arranging stuffed animals to their proper spots and folding all their blankets. Baseboards and lights are cleaned every time. Their vacuum is awesome! My house is small, but I have two very small, messy boys and two very large dogs. The house was always extremely clean after they came. There was nothing I could ever complain about. It was perfect. Every week I had a cleaning, which started for the first year as once a week and then moved to every other week, Ruth would send an email before the cleaning to remind me that they would be there at a certain time.
