A really fun shop to stop by if you're in the area. I almost missed this hidden gem. I was right next door at a soft serve shop and saw a singular door that the bottom of some staircases. On top of the doorway had the letters "RWT" and saw a few people entering. I looked up the Yelp page and to my surprise it was a TCG shop. Highly recommend stopping by to look around. Of course we had to take a yonder. They have a ton of PSA graded and bulk cards for cheap. Love that they have bulk cards laying around for you to look through, some are in binders some are in small boxes. Also have a ton of seating for their community events, including trade nights and tournaments. Kept clean, tons of trashcans at the end of each table. We visited on a Saturday that was pretty warm, high 80s with high foot traffic and it stayed well ventilated and cool with AC.

Ominous staircase to ascend to the play area

RWT collective is what happens when someone takes the idea of a trading card shop and says what if we made it a lifestyle? Located right in the heart of little Osaka this place is less store and more TCG headquarters. The kind of spot where cardboard is currency in late nights are mandatory. They do all the games, One piece, Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Magic. If it has cards and rules that require a YouTube tutorial, they're playing it. Weekend tournaments, of course. Late night events until 11 PM on weekdays? Naturally. Sleep is optional, but top cuts are not. The vibe feels like someone's basement if a basement were clean, well lit, and professionally organized and stock with absurdly good selection of sealed products, singles, collectibles, and merch you didn't know you needed it until five minutes ago. It's cozy without being grimy, intense without being unwelcoming, and somehow still manages to feel like home... Just with better inventory and few folding chairs. Well actually a lot of folding chairs. This is a full on community hub for West LA's TCG lifestyle. There are vendors, artists pop-ups, in-house merch, there's always something going on, and if there isn't, someone is probably play testing for something very important. Casual exist, but make no mistake. Organized play here is a serious business. Take notes, give feedback, and shockingly. If you raise a concern, it actually gets a trust. Revolutionary. It's nice to see someone taking organized play seriously. So if you're looking for a chill place to dabble still fit in. If you're looking to sweat over a deck list and meta calls, congratulations you found your people. It isn't just a shop. It's a cardboard powered social ecosystem. Come for the cards. Stay for the community. Leave wondering why your own basement isn't this cool.

Endless binders to go through. Prices seem pretty fair, I think it's better to bring cash so you don't get super taxed. I come here monthly and usually always find something. They also have assorted anime cards which is pretty cool.

We didn't know the family or child well, only that he was turning four and has an older brother. I purposely wanted to shop local and support an independent business, and a quick search on Yelp led me here. We arrived about an hour before closing on Saturday, which was great because parking meters end at 4pm and we found parking out front easily. We were greeted by an employee behind the desk as we walked in. She asked if there was anything she could help us find, and I let her know we were first time customers looking for a birthday gift with the details mentioned above. She let us know the layout of the store, her suggestions, but let us look freely. Over time more customers arrived with small children, and received the same courteous service. The store is clean and curated. I appreciated seeing well made toys and items inspiring imaginative play, rather than cheap plastic with distracting lights or sounds. I eventually chose a doctor play set as well as some items for my own children, such as animal figures and stamp markers. They offer free gift wrapping, which is a nice touch. The one alarming fact that stood out is that there were many empty storefronts on their block, so it's more important than ever to support our local economy. Their prices reflect investment in well made items, so I would not come here expecting big box store deals. In a world full of Target and Amazon, I would rather spend my money supporting a local, independent business. We had a great experience here and will definitely be back with our kids this holiday season.

They have a lot of obscure figurines and collectibles here. The staff is helpful and the novelty of the store is pretty cool. They open at 12:00 PM, but people start lining up well before that. Thankfully, I went on a Wednesday, so I didn't have to wait very long. Once you get inside, they hand you a ticket, and you are watched like a hawk as you wander through the store. The store is super cute inside with tons to look at, though it is heavily dominated by Sonic and Persona merch. They have a lot of items that are usually only sold in Japan, which means they are imported--and priced accordingly. The prices here are sky-high, so I wouldn't recommend planning a massive shopping spree unless you want to empty your wallet. I ended up only purchasing one item: a little Shadow the Hedgehog plushy for $20. Why I'm Knocking Off Stars : The service here was almost nonexistent. While the girl at the door handing out tickets was friendly enough, the cashiers were a different story. When my friend and I went up to the register to pay, the two employees working there were chatting away as if they were having the time of their lives. We stood there staring at them for almost three minutes before I finally had to speak up and say, "Excuse me, may I please purchase this?" They both looked up with frowns on their faces, staring at me like I had just interrupted the most important, intimate conversation of their lives. It was so bizarre--you'd think they'd be happy to ring up a customer! Instead, the guy just silently muttered "register," grabbed my item, and rang me up without saying another word. It was incredibly clear he just wanted to get me out of there as fast as possible to get back to his conversation with his coworker. It left a really bad impression. It's a very cute shop and definitely worth a quick visit just to see everything. If you decide to go, my biggest recommendation is to go on a weekday around 11:30 AM so you can be one of the first in line and avoid a massive wait! Just don't expect much from the staff at checkout.

Circumstances brought me to this unique and fun store that is practically hidden on the first floor of what appeared to be an abandoned mall in Chinatown, the Bamboo Plaza. Had I not known about this store and its location before visiting, I probably would not have entered the plaza. Upon entering, I was immediately greeted by Natalie one of the store owners. I then met with Alan, her husband and co-owner. Both were super personable, friendly and knowledgeable. I overheard them conversing about some of the products with other customers in the store. They really knew their product. The store was jampacked with products from floor to ceiling. I was overwhelmed with how much there was to see. There were so many different model kits to choose from (Pokemon, Bandai, Gundam, etc.). They also had figurines, model paint, books, stickers, Gundam decals, Book Nook and Wonderland items, Pokemon Mini Building Blocks, other building blocks, DVDs and other fun items. Everything was well stocked and neatly organized. I appreciated that most of the items were displayed behind glass so that you could see the actual product vs just looking at the picture on the box. Even though I am an adult, I felt like a kid in a candy store. I did not leave empty-handed. :) If you're looking for a wonderful brick and mortar hobby shop with Asian flair, I highly recommend this shop.
