I went to Ryan's on August 5th with.my husband and grandchildren ages 4 and 9. We wanted to do something fun with them. Ten minutes after we arrived multiple summer camps came into the arcade (approximately 200 kids). The kids were not well supervised. They were running around crazy. When we went to check out the valuse of the tickets it got even more confusing. There was about 60 kids gathered around the counter pushing, shoving and cutting in front of people.​ There were no adults trying to keep things organized. At the time there were 3 cashiers behind the counter. I asked to speak to a manager. I told her they should have one of the cashiers for customers who do not come with the camps. Sam the manager was very unhelpful and did not seem to know how to do his job. Our system malfunctioned before some of our group could even take their first turn, and he overcharged us for what little time we were able to play. He refused to reason with us about the price, despite the majority of our time being put towards the system malfunction. read more

We celebrated my aunt's 80th birthday in the VIP room at Ryan Family Amusement in Hanover, and what a time it was!!! The arcade, bowling and axe throwing; it was so great seeing family/friends of all ages laughing and having fun together. The staff was amazing and couldn't have been more friendly and helpful! Ryan's Family Amusements is a great place to spend a day with the family. We loved the arcade games but didn't try the laser tag or bowling. The bar was a lifesaver, making it easy to keep an eye on the kids while enjoying a drink. I hope they keep up with keeping this place clean and new with all the kids running around. The included step tool at some of the machines was awesome, great for my 2 year old. We love the claw games and the price of the games were super reasonable compared for Dave and Busters. We didn't get a chance to try the bowling alley this time, but we'll definitely be back to do that next time. It's a fun, family-friendly place that we highly recommend. It was pretty crowded but expected and one of the machines didn't work but difficult to get someone to check it out. Should be called "Ryan's family of MICE amusement" because this place is infested! I went there today and bowled in lane 2 and in Lane 1 there was a family of mice running across the floor! They come and high five your toes! Management was notified and didn't seem to care let alone be alarmed! If there was mice running around where the people are I can only imagine what the kitchen looks like! Such a dirty disgrace! I'm surprised it didn't get hit with a bowling ball! This is just one trust me it was a FAMILY of mice! Makes me think all the businesses are probably infested! read more

I've actually never had a negative experience here...until I did. Booked axe throwing. Two lanes on a weekend for a family members birthday. 20 minutes PAST our reservation time we decide to give up and call it and ask for a refund. They hand us a game card with $130. You're kidding...right? We ask "you're kidding, right?" We're told only an events sales manager who only works mid days mid week can process a refund. At a place centered around families? During the school year? Even the employee said "yeah, I should've caught that sooner". I just feel like, having worked in restaurants in my earlier years, if you can't make a reservation that's been on the books for over a week work, you let the people know sooner than 20 minutes past the reservation. I don't know, maybe my former managers valued hospitality more than this events manager who's allegedly the only person capable of processing a refund. Literally absurd, you'd get better service at a 7/11. read more

I highly recommend hosting a birthday party here!! They have multiple really fun options for parties. You can include arcade, blowing, laser tag, etc. We just did the arcade and all the kids loved it! The pizza was actually very very good, I'm not sure why I was surprised I guess I've just never had such good food at a kids party! The whole process was so easy. But honestly it really blew me away how nice and helpful every person I interacted with was from beginning to end. Hard to find that nowadays, it was super refreshing! read more

My fiancé and I went to Ryan's tonight after two great experiences there. We don't go out often, but we enjoyed our time there and have even recommended it to friends, so returned tonight expecting a good time. However, tonight was a very disappointing and frustrating experience , so much so I don't think we will be returning. We went to the bar planning to have a drink before playing some arcade games. We sat at the bar for 10 minutes without being acknowledged whatsoever. No "hello", no "just a minute", no menus. I understand it's a Saturday night and they were busy, but to be sitting there while the bartenders walked right by us and had their own conversations, we were made to feel less than. We decided to give them the benefit of the doubt, gave up on trying to get a drink, left the bar, and went to play the arcades games. After playing arcade games and returning the bar to give it another try, the experience was no less frustrating. Though a bartender did come over in an appropriate amount of time, they just stared at us expectantly instead of initiating any sort of interaction or displaying even an ounce of customer service. We broke the silence by ordering our drinks and opened a tab. After getting our drinks we were never checked in on,asked if we wanted to order food, or anything. To say the least we were very put off, called someone over to close the tab, and left. This is our first Yelp review as we are both easy going people and have worked in food service, but feel so strongly and frustrated about this experience that we felt something needed to be said. read more

Lots of fun for kids. Games are $1-$3 per play, which kids blow through quickly. And as expected, need lots of points to get the good prizes =) Seems very hectic, loud and crazy when the place is packed. But overall, it's nice to have a new place for kids to play in Hanover. read more
