In September 2022, I contacted the office and received a very prompt response and was connected with a project manager immediately. He stated he could start my project in December. They estimated my bathroom remodel would be potentially $120,000.00. I thought that was high- but I was hoping for the same responsiveness and high quality for the project. They require a large deposit ($3500). I found once I gave the deposit- everything changed. I was promised a designer that never came through- (the positive comments on the designers were another reason I chose this company). I finally got a designer that was very nice and responsive, however, he didn't really offer me any ideas beyond what I already had in mind and his style wasn't as contemporary as I had hoped. When I questioned his style- I was told- "well, that's all that's available". I discovered the project manager quit and they didn't have the measurements he took in October. Basically, they ended up not having the capacity to properly support my project- they didn't show up for the re-measure and didn't answer my emails. Finally, I asked for a refund. They charged me $350 hour for the designer (when I was quoted a price when they were bidding for the job- they told me designers ranged from $150- $200 hour). Now, I find myself back to the drawing board and out $700. The owner never had the courtesy to acknowledge my poor experience. Perhaps he will now, after a poor review. I would caution anyone with a "small" project (their words) like mine. I'm not sure if a six figure remodel is small in your world- but it's certainly not in mine.

My project started with one room, and I commented to the representative that we had other projects to follow. In the end he turned down a project that started at $2000., and I just completed all the projects which tallied $21,000. I'm disappointed that anyone would turn up their nose on something which could have benefited them in the end. Turns out the company I hired is doing work for the business next door now, and at my residence. Word of mouth is huge and whether it's Angie's List or here, if anyone asks about Fine Remodeling, I tell them they're not so Fine...

My hot water heater burst last year, and I was referred to Valley Construction to help with the…read moredemo/rebuild of my laundry room. When it happened, they took care of EVERYTHING. I hardly had to lift a finger. They coordinated with my home owners insurance, called all the right people to do mold tests, their project managers were at my house within a day or two. It was incredible. I had a mold remediation person at my house within an hour to test the damage for any black mold, and the crew was setting up fans to dry out my dry wall and flooring within 24 hours. With the demo, I had to rip out the flooring in my laundry room, and it just made sense to redo the floors in both my kitchen and laundry room so that they matched. They brought someone in for samples, everything was so quick and efficient. I also want to give 5 stars to Mike Stone specifically. He was an incredible project manager, so thorough and thoughtful and kind. I will come back here for any future needs because of him specifically. I did have one minor miscommunication - I was told I could be on a payment plan to pay off the remainder of my bill that insurance didn't cover, however a week after being told this was okay and setting up my payment plan, they called back and told me they no longer do payment plans and that I had to pay my bill by the end of the following week. I had such a wonderful experience leading up to this point, so I didn't want to dock a star, especially because they handled the back and forth with both me and my insurance for months. But did want to flag that for anyone else who may have needed a payment plan, this isn't something that they offer. I would still go back to them and use them in the future. Thank you again for being so efficient and for having such a helpful and caring team!

Valley Construction really overdelivers, I thought I only needed some drywall and baseboards, a bit…read moreof mud and some paint, but I basically got a whole new roommate!! If you need a great team to fumble a job, like you've never seen before, this is the best you're going to get!! I'm truly impressed with how many times I've heard "It'll get done tomorrow, for sure"!! So back on February 4th, which was a reschedule from the 2nd, Valley Construction started work to hang, mud, sand, then paint, about 50sq ft of drywall. They would also install baseboards beneath those sections. Total scope of work was quoted at about 1 -2 days. That should have told me all I needed to know, as mud takes about a day to dry. Either way, as of today, the evening of February 24th, they are still not done. Granted, there was one week where we asked them not to come due to a planned vacation, but we would have never needed to if it didn't take almost two weeks to hang and mud. I don't think I've ever experienced a service provider less communicative about their plan or schedule. They text you either the night before, or the day of and tell you someone will be coming by, and some times that person shows up when they said they would, and some times they send another text mid morning and inform you that they decided to do another job first and that they'd come by in the afternoon instead. Some times, the worker(s) work for a solid block of time, some times they leave and you're left wondering if they just went to lunch or decided to go do a different job. Like an automated response, the PM will always text you and tell you that it will get done the next day "for sure," but you'll never know if the worker(s) will actually show. It completely astounds me that they actually asked for a key to the property, citing that they typically have home owners just let them put a lock box on their door, so that they can come and go as needed if the home owner needs to be at work or otherwise out of the house. I'm fortunate to work from home, which has now turned into it's own set of challenges, but there is no way I would ever give this company a key to my house and let them have the freedom to come and go as needed. We'll see if this get's done tomorrow. They managed to sand and paint about 2/3 of the area during the 6 hours or so they were working here today, which admittedly feels accurate, but I'm not placing bets on them wrapping up everything tomorrow. *** IMPORTANT: END OF USER FEEDBACK. Another company is here - informed me that they should have put two access points in the line rather than just one. The bigger issue is that they recommended replacing only part of the line, which has resulted in me now having to redo part of what was done last year in order to complete the remaining 3 ft of piping. This lack of information and forethought is costing me three times as much as it should have - over four thousand dollars.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Natay Construction and their "process". We need…read morea full renovation of our primary bathroom. I was nervous that Natay was the only contractor that asked me for money upfront in an hourly rate to create a plan and get bids for the bathroom. They gave me an initial estimate and then months and months later I finally get the "real" estimate for the bathroom which was almost 2X the initial estimate! The plan, materials, and layout had not changed at all.* We did not run into any hurdles that would have made the cost increase.  Process Made Me Feel Trapped: By the time I had gotten the proposal, the "hourly" hours billed was nearly double what I had agreed to and when I saw all of these bloated prices from subs, I was too nervous to wrack up more billable hours to have Eric go back and get better prices. I think this is the goal of their "process" - to make you feel like you are so far down the rabbit hole when you see this crazy number that you just give in.  No "Connections" with Subs: Now that I am getting my own quotes on the pieces of this project, all of the subs that Eric wanted to use were easily double the cost (not including the contractor fees) of the prices I am getting on my own (as a woman who knows nothing about construction). I thought the purpose of a contractor is that they know the right people to work with and know a reasonable price...  Extremely Slow: Getting answers from Eric was extremely slow. We started in February and I was originally supposed to have the whole project complete by early June. I didn't even get the 2X proposal until end of May. There were 6.5 weeks where I heard nothing back and had to reach out to Eric for an update multiple times. There was another time that I asked for one minor change and didn't hear back for 2 weeks. I was so hopeful that I found a trustworthy contractor to help with our house projects, but my experience with Natay was just a waste of time and money. After raising these concerns, I asked for a refund of my upfront money. Eric stopped responding and someone else from the team said no.  * This is TMI, but the upfront billable hours did increase due to looking into projects beyond the initial bathroom. Eric kept encouraging me that I would "save money" by doing all these other house projects at one time. The bill for all those things was like 4X the original price. I then asked for him to take everything out and see just the bathroom so I could compare apples to apples (just the bathroom was almost a full 2X more than the initial quote for just the bathroom).

We had a leak that was driving us batty, and the two previous guys we hired to fix it could not…read morefigure out where it was coming from. I called Collin based on his positive Yelp reviews, and he not only found the source of the problem pretty quickly -- we had a rotted doorsill next to our deck -- but devised an effective solution. The first thing that impressed me about Collin was his willingness to come to our house and spend an hour without charging getting the lay of the land and forming a hypothesis for what the problem might be. Once he diagnosed it, he had the skills and tools to address it. We have not had another drop of water in that area since, and it rained twice after he made the repair. While at our place, Collin also fixed a patio gate that was sticking and a garage door that seemed to have developed a mind of its own, closing only when it felt like it. It was a great relief to get that taken care of. Collin charges $65 an hour, which is not cheap but is probably about the going rate in San Francisco. He's pretty busy and might not get back to you right away. That was the case with us, but I'm glad I had the patience to wait until he was available, because he did a fantastic job for us. I would call him back again any day.

We changed a sliding door to another style we liked better, so there was some fabrication for them to do as well. Our old stucco had a good deal of cracks everywhere. Matt explained that was normal over time and that they would repair it with a fiberglass mesh. Their workers really worked hard and got it all done in two steps. It looks fabulous, even better than we imagined. We're very happy with the finish and color we picked out. It's exciting to realize we chose the right company to help us with this update to the home we've been in since 1985. I'm typically nervous to get these projects started but very satisfied with Terry George Construction and Stucco Contractors. I feel comfortable in recommending them whole heartedly. Great Job !
