We took the $32, three hour tour (to Chase Bridge). No complaints. It was fun. They do operate differently than other canoe liveries though in that they have you drive down to the end point, then they shuttle you back to the basecamp (where you start from). Then you can leave straight from the end point rather than wait and pile a bunch of (wet, drunk, annoying) people into a nasty shuttle back to wherever you started. I enjoyed this method much better than the alternative that we have experienced elsewhere. Good idea! FYI, They don't advertise it, but YES, they do take credit cards. Many other places in town, for some reason, don't (so we had brought cash accordingly). Good times. 4 stars.

Finally returned a call a week before the wedding in August we're offered 4 hours of trail riding for $325, we were charged for $425 when we arrived but because we were already there and that was what was planned for the day we just went with it. Our time frame was 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., at 1:43 p.m. the ATV started to chug and the engine light came on and the temp gauge was well over 200°, so we pulled over shut it down and called Hardcore Performance, Sandy at the desk told us to stay put, we sent her our location they said they knew exactly where we were and they would send somebody to us . And now we're later an employee arrived took it for a test drive notice the engine light on and said that we could either ride back with him in the cab of the truck or to follow him and her sit back to their business we were only 3.5 miles away so we nursed it back halfway there the light went off when we informed him he stated, "Oh, that happens quite a bit". Bobby Jr. had asked us if we had rented for the day and we told him just half the day for 4 hours but if we'd rent it for the full day they were going to give us another ATV to finish our day but offered no compensation for the hour of sitting in the woods waiting for Bobby Jr to reach us. In reality we paid for 4 hrs. of use and got 2hrs and 45mins. We plan to reach out to the owner and see if they are willing to make it right.

I've been coming to South Higgins Lake Campground (west side) for years and if it weren't for the…read morebeautiful Higgins lake, I'd go somewhere else. Each year I stay at a different site, and they are all the same: nearly all dirt, lousy facilities and crummy water issues. The water spickets that are located on each street were recently updated to include an on/off valve which sounds great, but when you turn it on it sprays outward, not downward, so you get water sprayed all over you. How hard is it to put in a proper faucet end?! And the bathrooms are similar where the faucets to wash your hands and the shower heads, are all "misting" water flows. I'm sure it's to save water but this is not helping me in cleaning my hands and body. Not to mention the water is ice cold each time (I've tried many different times of the day with no luck). As a taxpayer, we are paying for these parks and deserve top notch, simple amenities such as smooth waterflow, larger hot water tanks and a little grass on the sites. Other than this, the lake is gorgeous and great to spend time on it!

Everything here was top notch and well maintained, probably above average from the many state park campgrounds that I have camped at through the years! What that tells me is that this is probably one of the more highly trafficked campgrounds, so there is a lot of maintenance done on it! This campground had the most "modern" bathrooms. Everything was automatic, the toilets, the sinks, the hand dryers. This is by main indicator that the bathrooms are the latest and greatest update! We also loved our campsite. We had a few of Higgins Lake peeking out from around other campsites from ours and were able to enjoy the lake breeze and sunset view from our campsite alone. It was also an easy walk to the lake, where there was a little playground/swing set AND a dog-friendly beach just right off of that playground area as well! Super dog-friendly, which was great because I brought my dog along! Lots of trailers/RVs at all the neighboring campsites, which is to be expected, especially of a more popular campground! This campground also had the most campsites that I've seen as of late (minus Ludington, I'd say)! South Higgins Lake State Park also had some great hiking trails that we took advantage of! Marl Lake Trail is a trail that is very customizable for any of your time/energy level needs - 1, 3, or 5 mile loops can be done on this trail! Other than the hiking and the camping (spent 3 days and 2 nights here), we didn't do much else at the state park, opting instead to rent a boat (from the South Higgins Lake State Park Store - see my review there for details on boat rentals and our experience!) to spend a whole day on the actual lake, so I can't attest to the other amenities this state park has to offer. But for our purposes on this wonderful weekend, it was darn near perfect and we really enjoyed our time!! Hope to be back soon! :)

I would never use this Kayak and Canoe service again…read more "Big Mike" was completely unprofessional and tardy. My large family group rented more Kayaks than we brought and as "Big Mike" refused to transport them with his trailer (even though there was Plenty of Room) the starting process took almost an hour and a half in it's self. He seems to be a lazy and completely unreliable person. I highly suggest not using this service.

Let's get to the good stuff right away.... PROS: -staff is superb, friendly, professional and always smiling. -range balls are free with the purchase of your round. -the horticulture around the course is well maintained and very aesthetically pleasing to the eye. -definitely a challenging course for players of all skill levels -lightning fast greens -turf was very well-maintained and in great shape. -BYOB! They don't have a liquor license so bring your own and save! They have all the ice you need and coolers on the carts. -plenty of water stations on the course -off the tee most fairways are wide open and allow for those who may not hit the straight ball each time to still make a second shot. - greens fees include cart CONS: -a bit in the pricey side for a golf course near West Branch MI. $80 is a bit much. -under-rated by the PGA. 130 slope from the whites is not accurate. If we're putting titles on and…read morebacking credibility, I'm an advanced practitioner and a yoga teacher myself for nearly 8 years. I've been to a LOT of studios over the years and I can still remember my practice here, as if it was yesterday. This place has something special about it. The aura here is like nothing I've ever experienced before. It's soothing and welcoming, and comforting, like a warm blanket on a freezing winter day. It's hard to explain, and something I've never felt at another studio. This place definitely "holds the space" for you. I can't remember the teacher who's class I took, I was THAT deep into my practice when I came here. The building itself has a history that nearly seems magical. It's was/is a ski place in the winter time. And wanting to continue use of the space during the off season, when you can't ski, it's yoga time. The building looks like an old cabin, complete with old wood floors and beams and benches throughout. Again, it doesn't look like much for the outside, but the inside just feels magical. I've practiced everywhere. All over the state and in my 8 years of being a yogi, nothing has ever came as close to feeling as amazing as Turtle Yoga! Yes- I definitely recommend!
