My husband and I looking to sell our boat because we never have time to use it and my husband doesn't have time to work on the things that need worked on, and someone recommended that He contact this place because they buy and sell used boats. My husband said that the woman at the front desk was very polite, friendly and helpful, but Bob, who I think is the owner, treated him with complete disrespect. From the moment he shook his hand, he talked down to us and had a disrespectful tone. He was aggressive and rude, and, frankly, I got the impression he wanted to rip us off. He wouldn't listen to a word I was trying to tell to him about the boat's engine, and the several new parts, repairs and updates we've made in the last 2 years. Instead of listening, he talked very loudly over us to tell us the boat was 'too dirty' and didn't look good; he wasn't interested in the mechanics or quality of the engine, he only cared about the cosmetics. When he finally heard us talk about the very simple parts that we know need repaired, and he realized we knew what we were talking about, he got very defensive and raised his voice, continuing to say that we didn't know what we were talking about. I will never return to this place, nor will I recommend it to anyone. read more

My boat motor was missing a cylinder when running and after changing plugs and trying a spark plug coil, this didn't fix the issue. I took it to Hard Core. Bob, the owner, said it would be 2 weeks before he could get to it. I was fine with that since it was during the busy season. He called a week early and told me he couldn't do anything for me and that my 13 year old Johnson outboard carburetor did not have parts out there to repair it. He said unless I wanted to invest a large amount of money I should get rid of it. Fine. I wasn't happy to be told to dump it since I bought it new but I would pick it up for the $35 diagnostic charge. I was ok with the bill. I was called a couple days later and now told bill was $48 for plugs and diagnostic. I had changed the plugs before turning it in and ran it for less than 5 minutes realizing the plugs weren't the problem. The woman at the desk reiterated that I owed $48 for diagnostic and plugs. I told her I wanted my plugs back. She said that they were the wrong plugs even though I've been using these plugs for years and the plugs weren't the problem. She went and got owner / Bob. He came from the back room and immediately called me a cheap MF B...stard for not paying for the plugs. REALLY!!!! He continued to swear at me for wanting the plugs back and not paying for his plugs. He demanded cash which wasn't a problem. He told me to never come back. Don't worry, I wont. I asked the woman if I ever yelled at her and all she could say was that they were the wrong plugs. After paying I got out of there while Bob just stood there and chastised me. A young man brought my boat out and later helped me hook my boat up to the hitch. I tipped him and told him if he ever owns a business, don't ever treat your customers like that. Nice young kid and I could tell he was embarrassed. I'm 55 years old and have never been treated like that by a business owner. It was surreal. If you don't want your head torn off by a disgruntled business owner, stay away. read more
