It's a small, well lit coffee shop on a corner. There wasn't much seating. It is obviously a nice place to study or conduct business, as many seemed to be on laptops. I went there to have a good cup of coffee and read a book. The coffee is good. I had almost no interaction with anyone, including the employees, so can't speak to that. Do I wish people still interacted? Yes, but it's not this coffee shop's fault. It's a nice place. Go there, bring a book, stay for a while; if you're lucky enough to get a seat. read more

We stopped here when traveling to our cabin near Hocking Hills and it was amazing! I had the brown butter latte & sweet potato hash and my husband had a tea and the wagyu smash burger. This seems to be the most popular coffee shop in town. Although there is plenty of seating, Rost Coffee still gets pretty packed and watch out for the line as it can grow exponentially in the blink of an eye. We got one of the scones- it was quite large. I would suggest splitting a scone if you decide to go that route. I like how they offer salty, savory, or sweet scones. A little something for everybody. The coffee was pretty good. I'd say its a pretty classic coffee shop coffee. I got a cappuccino- double shot of course. It was just what i needed. read more

Coffee goodness, baked treats tremendous and relaxing environment to engage with friends, family and loved ones. Some Communtiy tables to bring many together and enjoy. You'll love Rost and the Co-Op community style partnership this place brings, with cool little local shops down one side of the building. I almost made the SB mistake and I'm so glad I didn't! This place is super clean, super well organized, and has some of the best vibes I've felt in a while! The staff is very friendly and not the typical chain snobby/frantic to keep their drive thru times in line style. The coffee is amazing! I had the Goldie Hawn and it's one of my favorite specialty coffee drinks ever. So good! The sandwich was very tasty and fresh. November 29, 2023 We discovered this place thanks to Yelp and its stellar reviews. Upon entering, we found ample open floor space with many nomads working on their laptops. Our brunch included the following; super toast, avo toast, and peach toast, and each dish delighted us with its incredible flavors. It was a culinary delight, a true foodgasm. Had to wait 30 minutes on 2 coffees. It was 3 PM on a Wednesday. There were less than a handful of customers in the restaurant. 2 baristas working. I had to go ask where was my coffee-- I was told My order was "wiped off the screen". We were offered "one pastry" but we are gluten free. 30 minutes is a long time to wait. This will be our last visit here. We make a point to stop every single time we come through Chillicothe and have gone out of our way to stop, but this is unacceptable. We should have been given a refund at least. We've been a loyal customer since 2021, and have recommended this place to everyone but no more. There are plenty of other coffee places that appreciate customers and don't lose their orders -- and if they do, they make it right. read more

The coffee is excellent and moderately priced for its quality. I had a pour over. It's about $3.50 for the regular size. This is hand made so it takes some time. It has almond and soy milk available. I've never gravitated toward small towns since my big city views and elite tastes are generally less welcomed. After realizing I would be in the rural area of Ohio half of my time for work, it was time to get accostomed. Staying in Chillicothe helps. Rost is another, if not at the top of, on the list of gems of Chillicothe. Just when you think you're drowning in Trump signs, accents and gun raffles, a fantastic coffee shop shows up to make you feel cultured. At 830 am on a Friday it was empty. The brown butter latte was amazing. He even tried a new "latte art" for funzies. The avocado toast had a delicious seasoned egg and siracha aoili with boatloads of avo-just the way I like it. It wasn't too big, perfect size, and pretty cheap. They have other breakfast offerings, about 6 things. The space is open and airy with an open "kitchen" at the back. Honestly, the chairs suck. They are plastic folding chairs the likes of a bingo hall. Otherwise, the place reminds me of several much liked places at home in St Louis. My only wish would be to add boozie coffee drinks! And I wish they opened at 6 instead of 7. read more

June 2020 - Since moving into the Fort Collective, they have increased their space (for coronavirus social distancing) and for sitting down to eat your food or drink coffee without being on top of the person next to you (see photos). Mom and I decided to get smoothies today after our walk and I got the Green Elvis and she got the Berry Basic. I liked mine because it came out green so I knew it was good for my stomach, and it was thick like peanut butter and banana so it didn't melt while we walked home. Mom said her smoothie mainly was flavored like the yogurt and berries. The staff is so friendly and remembers my family although we come in a few times a year. They are all locals to Chillicothe and really believe in the revamping of historic downtown Chillicothe and the potential for future businesses hence the shoppes inside the Fort Collective. I went for breakfast with my son and mother. Everyone was able to find food to eat and it was delicious. My son ordered the peanut butter smoothie and was not crazy about it (heavy on the spinach). He then tried the berry smoothie and felt the same. Service was quick and friendly. Ambiance was perfect and we did not have any trouble with finding seating. Went to Rost today for the first time. It has an industrial contemporary feel, it was also immaculately clean. Right away I noticed the music was wierd and loud as it often in in trendy places, so we opted to sit outside after we ordered. The cashier wasn't overly friendly or helpful, but she was professional. I was dissapointed they didn't have a carmel latte so I tried the brown sugar butter latte. I am so glad I did. It was fabulous! There was a slight molassesy, brown Sugarish flavor i found irresistible. My husband and I both had the avocado toast. The toast was chewy and toasty with a perfectly cooked gooey egg on top. It cost $7.50 for one piece, which was the perfect price and portion. We will be back often. My only note would be turn down the music a smidgen. read more

So thrilled to have this trendy atmosphere added to our hometown restaurant offerings. The salads are delicious, the Ethiopian coffee is wonderful and the trail cookie is my favorite treat (big enough to share). We sat inside for a while and just talked and took in the place. Very relaxed. I finished up my cold Brew... and guess what. Time for an Iced Coffee. Interesting coffee shop and seems to be community focused. I ordered a breakfast burrito, which was absolutely cooked to perfection however was not the most satisfying breakfast burrito to my taste palate. I think they were going for different and if that's the case they nailed it. Again, I reiterate, they cooked the burrito possibly better than any burrito I have ever eaten, and the tortilla was golden brown perfection but the flavor of the burrito and its ingredients were a big MEH. Here's some advice: go to Colorado and see how they're doing it better than you. Just saying. Other than that I like this shop and likely will come back for more (and eat something else.) read more
