I contacted S&B Custom Cabinetry, Inc. 2.5 months ago in person to remodel my kitchen. This was someone I used in the past and was an old neighbor. Lou Santoro the owner, said he could come out the next week, took my phone number and said he would call. He did not call. When I did not hear from him (approximately 2 weeks) I sent him an email on 5-11-17 asking him if he forgot about me. On May 12th, I called him and left a voice message then discovered Lou had responded to my email. I received this message and I quote, "Just been very busy. Didn't forget you, Lou." I then sent him a follow up email to see if he could come by that day? His response by email was "Today is crazy. Have a guy out sick for a week now and trying to catch up. Might be a few weeks"
So, I assumed he would get to me.
After some time, I had not heard from S&B, so I send him an email stating it's been a couple of months could he please come by and that I wanted to get the project started. Lou, responded by telling me he was friends with my neighbor and he was declining.
Certainly, Lou has a right to not do business with whomever. However, in this specific case he was unprofessional, lied and wasted my time. Additionally, the neighbor he is referencing is a convicted Felony and convicted of stealing from his next-door neighbor, a senior citizen woman, whom he considered his mother.
Now, I am glad to find out what kind of person Lou really is. Actions obviously speak louder than words. As they say, you are like who you hang out with. I certainly would not want to do business with someone who hangs out with known criminals.
Initially, I had no reason to doubt that S&B Cabinets would do the job since I hired them in the past and just felt I could wait for him because he indicated he was busy. In this specific case, Lou knowingly strung me along, treated me unprofessionally, and lied to me, as though he was interested in doing the job. This is not right.
