I live in Rocklin and a 25 minute drive for a cup of coffee might seem silly, but wow is it magical to me. The scones are unbeatable and they have the most unique and creative flavors. Lately I've enjoyed the s'mores scones and the mocha scones (which are made with decaf, in case anyone is worried) but they've always got something unique and delicious in the pastry case. My partner loves their BYO sandwiches for lunch, and while I haven't tried them, they look delicious. When I'm hungry I go for the outstanding avocado toast. Everything is locally sourced and the balsamic/olive oil they dress the arugula with adds a flavor bomb that I can't get enough of! Service is always kind and courteous, and they give you a sticker for every espresso drink or sandwich you order... the 10th ones are free. Go support this wonderful local grocer/deli/coffee shop. We try to get a delivery every month, but when we are vacation or out of town, it's nice to know we don't have too. I picked up a bag Christmas Eve because her and her husband were coming to visit and it's become a family tradition to enjoy mandarins. However, this year within two days, they all started to turn moldy and have bad spots. So when my daughter was here, they were grossed out. I know business is tough and you got to sell things and make a living, but once you lose your quality control, people will never come back, I'm going to have to find them somewhere else in the future.

We didn't stay very long but walked around about a quarter mile and bought a whole bag filled with Mandarin, blood oranges, and Cara Cara oranges - $1.90/ lb. The little store also has marmalade, honey and other already picked citrus like the grapefruits and Meyer lemons - these are off limits to visitors due to the BIG thorns. Cheeses, meats, salads and they even have baked goods. They have many chips and bottled drinks to choose from. We usually get the Rat Trap Sandwich. I can not eat anything spicy. You can ask to sample a mandarin while you're there. He let me choose one from any crate. Currently, you can buy 5 lb for $10. The 10 lb bag for $22 isn't as good a deal, maybe because you are purchasing the cardboard box? You can also buy crates for $50, which is the best value. I think a crate contains 40 lb. This has been the only farm I have seen so far that allows you to purchase so huge a quantity, especially so early in the season. Mandarins are juicy. You may be able to buy other farm produce here, like persimmons and nuts. The Fuyu persimmons looked so perfect and beautiful that I bought a big bag for $10. You can pay by credit card. Mandarin Hill Orchards is off English Colony Way, part of the Mandarin Trail. Happy Dayz Vineyard is located on the same grounds. I like that you can see and drive through the scenic mandarin orange orchard when you shop here. Even the railroad crossing you have to drive over is pretty. This was the best mandarin farm experience and stop so far.
