Writing this review as a homeowner. This morning around midnight I heard a loud noise and assumed it was a bad car wreck...it was. Thankfully everyone was OK and walked away but the cars were totaled. The team from S&R worked so fast to get the area cleaned up and vehicles moved. It's a busy intersection so getting the job done efficiently is key. They two drivers had great attitudes and worked hard. read more

The absolute worst experience I've ever had. The tow truck driver, Michael, was an absolute douche bag. We were in a bad accident and obviously worked up. We were trying to figure out all the moving pieces. He kept arguing about payment even while we were trying to figure out a solution. All he did was move our car out of the road while we were trying to call our insurance to find a more affordable option. We told him we had AAA and he told us they don't cover accident towing, which is a lie. They just don't cover it to a house. Then our tow truck arrived while he was loading the car. Instead of stopping, he kept loading and charged us "since he did his job and had to get paid." Meanwhile, his competitor, NK towing, was gracious and compassionate to our situation. Then when we went to go pay for his 5 minutes of work, he laughed at us for being worked up even though we were being as kind as possible. I told the sheriff on scene to report back to his department that this was a terrible experience and they should work with a different company. read more

I had this company do a warehouse to warehouse forklift move. Was quoted $200/hr From dispatch time to delivery. While on the phone, I even asked "so if it is an hour and a half, the total will be $300?" And was told yes. The next day I received the text letting me know they were in route at 8:39am, the lift was picked up and delivered to the other location by 9:36am so was expecting a $200 charge. . Was THEN informed they had a 2 hour minimum and was charged $400. I was not happy with the bait and switch and will not be doing business with them again. read more

My car was towed from a low income apt. the tow sign was not a legal sign.so they had no legal right to tow my car, if they were trained to tow my car they need to look up the law and learn it. I recently talked to legal aid and learned about this. every tow yard charges different fees, S&R is the highest tow yard. they charged me 500.00 to hook it up and tow it less then 5 miles. It was going to cost me almost 900/00 to get my car out that day. I asked them to work with me since I was on disability and I have a low come. NO the rude lady on the phone said. I begged them. . so now I have to take them to court. if something like this happened to you fight back. I can go on about how this made my life so Much harder. we have rights , so we do not lose our cars due to the fact that they think they are above the law and just try and take advantaged of people that can afford to get the car back. I am filling complaints about there conduct and how they are able to do things like this to people that ARE NOT able to afford such excessive fees. read more

I've had plenty of cars and motorcycles towed in my years and never have experienced what I saw today. When my bike needed some attention the driver pulled out his cell phone and started covering my bike with photographs, even to the point of turning on the ignition to get a reading of mileage off the odometer. What the hell is this? A little invasion of privacy, it certainly felt like. I can understand a couple overall photos to document the condition but when a picture is taken of the license plate and of the frame stamp for the VIN and of the freaking odometer it makes an owner feel as though he's being suspected of having stolen his own bike. Would like to know where this requirement is coming from. The technician himself was a good guy and knew what he was doing but this company practice seemed way out of line. read more

Property manager gave me the number to S & R to tow a vehicle so I did. I called around 7pm and again around 8pm and once again around 9pm. The guy answering the phone kept saying they were answering calls and he'd return our call with an ETA. No one ever called me back and no one ever showed. Utterly useless and unreliable. read more

This was the best tow I've ever had on my lowered Nissan Z!! Shawn is an amazing and extremely skilled driver!!! I refuse to get my Z towed by anyone else ever again. I called for a tow and they were extremely friendly and he was here in less than an hour on a busy hot day. My Z is about 3 inches off the ground with all flats and he loaded and unloaded it effortlessly without any scraping! Very educated on towing lowered cars. If you have a low car please put your trust in this driver and request him! His name is Shawn and his driver ID is 384 from the Vista location I believe. Rude, obnoxious, condescending and the list could go on. I went as far as to send a letter to the company. Stay away! Especially for contracts for tow services. Willie and Cody carefully loaded the car on the flatbed taking care not to mar the sealed garage floor during the process. These guys are pros that you can trust. I just wanted to take the time and thank S&R towing for their services! I work for an automotive dealership in north county San Diego and have to say that every employee I have dealt with for this company has always been friendly, helpful, and efficient! Yesterday evening I happened to encounter a young woman who had been in a car accident earlier in the afternoon and she had asked to borrow my phone since hers was dead. I asked her a few questions as to why she was there, alone, and she told me she was waiting there for a tow truck to tow her car. This was about 8:30pm, and she had been waiting since 6pm if not earlier. I offered to help and she declined, so I told her I was going to run a quick errand and would be back to check on her. I returned shortly after 9pm, and she was still there. This time she accepted my offer to help her so I contacted S&R towing for some information first (the woman lives in San Diego), to see what her options would be. I called them back a minute later and the tow truck driver was there in less than 10 minutes! The woman was amazed how quickly S&R was there and so grateful for their service! Without a cell phone, she may have been waiting there all night for a tow truck. So I wanted to take the time to acknowledge S&R and thank them as well for everything! Would give them 0 stars if I could. I called this company late last Wednesday. I was stranded on the 15 freeway due to popped tire. They told me it would be 1hr to 1.5 hrs before they would arrive. I decided to try other companies to see if one could get faster to my location. I asked the person that I talked to from this company if he could recommend another company nearby. He said he "wasn't going to go and recommend the competition." I said thanks and hung up. It's funny that he said that because all the previous towing companies that were too busy to help me kept recommending me to other companies and one of them recommended me to S&R. When I finally was picked up by a different company, the driver told me it is routine to recommend other companies to motorists if they are too busy to get to them. He told me that they are not supposed to leave people stranded like that and that it wouldn't make CHP too happy knowing that they treated me like that. Would not contact this company ever again if I am ever to be stranded near this area! read more
