While he was doing the work, he found problems with earthquake safety and the pad for our air conditioner, which he fixed. He worked on many projects in our yard in a two month period including the following: -new fire pit (which included demolishing old fireplace that was not built properly) -new steps into the back yard (to replace the one concrete step that was not safe) - new pavers for the front yard which replaces the driveway and the side yard (which included demolishing the driveway) - new rock wall bordering the front yard on the side and in front -new rock veneer on either side of the garage -new column mailbox -new walking path on the north side of the house with stepping stones (which included removing concrete that had been stored there) -new pad for the air conditioner on the north side -new concrete to shore up the pillars in front of the house to make the house safer for earthquakes -new redwood garden bed on the south side with mushroom compost -new pavers on the south side that match the ones in the front including a patio where we can put a table and chairs -moving the flagstone and putting it deeper into the ground while adding more flagstone in the backyard to make it safer and also more practical for us. -removing flagstone bench which we didn't like. He and his crew were very talented. They used high quality materials and their craftsmanship was top notch. They took the time to do it right and did not use shortcuts. He was an excellent communicator and willing to answer any questions we might have. He assured us that he was not finished until we were satisfied with the results. He has many years of experience in masonry and it showed. We were constantly adding on as we found new areas that needed improvement. He was flexible and willing to work with us. He worked with the suppliers to ensure that we would get the materials as soon as possible. Our house was the talk of the neighborhood as everyone came by to admire the results. Avoid at All Costs - Completely Unprofessional and Unqualified…read more Hiring Super Concrete Construction was one of the worst decisions we've made. The contractor has a suspended license and no bond, which we discovered too late. He clearly doesn't understand proper grading -- we had to bring in our own general contractor to direct his crew after the initial grading was off by several inches, which would have caused flooding in our garage and home. Even after corrections, we now have a giant puddle in the middle of our new patio. The crew left a huge mess every day, with trash and half-eaten lunches scattered in the yard. They drove massive concrete trucks up our old driveway, causing deep cracks and damage that could have easily been avoided by using a longer hose -- it would've cost him $200, but instead we're stuck with costly repairs. This alone shows a total lack of professionalism or care. Rather than disposing of leftover materials properly, he dumped them back into the yard, creating more drainage issues. They hit the garage with equipment, damaged our sewer tank, and splattered concrete over all four sides of the garage and one side of the house. The site was left filthy and unfinished. Worse yet, he decided not to complete the job and tried to gaslight us, refused to pay for the concrete truck, and cashed all our checks himself because he's unlicensed and doesn't have a proper business account. This person has no idea what he's doing. It's been a costly, stressful mess. Do not hire him.

Since the owner didn't respond, he walked over when he saw owner outside he provided a written estimate for driveway repair on the spot. He pressured her to hire him, saying he was working on another job in the area and would give her a deal if she hired him. The owner had not made a decision BUT without a signed contract, workers came today to jackhammer the driveway! I called to ask if he had a signed contract and he said "No, sorry, we talk about it yesterday, I give to them this evening." I asked him not to return and let him know that he should not have done a thing without approval and a signed contract. In fact, two other estimates were being reviewed for consideration for this job, owner had no intention of hiring this company.

One thing that really stood out is that they noticed our old driveway had the wrong slope and that the approach up to the front porch was too steep. They corrected the driveway so it now has a proper slope toward the road and added a new step for us -- at no additional cost. That was not something we asked for, but something they caught. Everything was done exactly on schedule and exactly at the agreed price. No surprises. They also worked smoothly with another contractor we had on site at the same time. Before they left, the cleanup was immaculate. Several of our neighbors noticed how nice the driveway was looking. We are very happy with this.
