Owner was yelling to staff that I was there to pick up and not one of the staff members acknowledged it or checked. Owner kept Noticing we were standing there and kept trying to get the staff members to finish our order and get us out of there. Again no one looked for slip or food. After waiting for 25 min the owner I think he's the owner anyway kept saying I was here for Pick up. Finally someone checked and the order had been sitting out for the entire time we were there. Got home. Food is absolutely cold. Pizza was completely burnt. Couldn't even eat the pizza . I had taken a bite and the pizza snapped from the burnt pizza underneath. I have been going to espressos my entire life over 30 years! I have never seen anything like this. The owner who is always great and is still amazing. I have nothing bad to say about him he's always so friendly and on top of things. Usually the older guys who work there are great! No complaints. As for the younger staff, very lost and have no idea what they are doing. The younger staff definitely needs training!!! They were extremely incompetent. Mind you I was not the only customer complaining while I was in there I saw atleast 3-4 very unhappy customers shaking their heads and whispering under there breath while walking away. This is unacceptable. It's not like we spent a few bucks we spent like $42 bucks on food we didn't even eat and food was cold and burnt. One of the cooks said as we were walking out "oh he's pissed" and we heard and my fiance yelled back " yeah I've been coming here for 40 years and have never had such terrible service." Which of course we were pissed waiting for Almost half hour and our order was sitting Out and not handed to us because no one cared to look for the slip or food even though the manger/ owner had made it very known we were there waiting.... I feel bad because I love this establishment and I love the main guy who works there because he's always upbeat and friendly and this has nothing to do with him because he tried his best to get these kids to grasp The concept that we were waiting and they weren't comprehending or something. Also normally the food is wonderful which is why I keep coming back but I've never seen such a mess. As this is Latinx heritage month, seems like a perfect time to finally check them out. This is a tiny little store front. Most of the building is taken up by kitchen and storage. There are 2 two-tops and 1 four-top table for dining-in. Tables are very nice and the area was clean. An open kitchen over looks the dining area. A cashier stand, where you order, is to the left of the entrance. Menu boards are located on the wall above the open kitchen. A cooler across from the cashier holds bottled soda, water and tea. The cashier was super personable and answered a couple of silly questions from me. (I always have questions. So many questions!) I had to try the empanadas of course and they offer several varieties. My SO got himself a pepperoni pizza. We both grabbed bottled soda. We had an opportunity to chat a little with the cook too who is also very nice. A parton who is clearly known to the staff came in and had a long, friendly chat with staff while we ate. Just before we left some high school students came in. This is absolutely a neighborhood spot. The pastry on my empanada is very good. Flakey, thin, holds together well. I would have preferred less pastry for the amount of filling. Most bites were air. The ground beef was seasoned well enough but I think I was looking for more spice and maybe a little heat. Still, it was enjoyable. The vegetable empanada was bell peppers, onions and mushrooms with a little bit of cheese. Same result. I was looking for more filling, spice and heat. Don't get me wrong. They are good. I did enjoy them. And for all I know, this is the way abuela makes them. Everyone has their own preferences. This is just me. Take it as you will. My SO enjoyed his pizza. That's all I got from him. Sorry I can't elaborate. This is a small store front right off a neighborhood. On street parking is free. I ordered the cauliflower crust, and unfortunately the kitchen confused two of the pizzas. They had to send them back to be remade, which is not usually a big deal. However, on this particular day, it took about an hour and a half to get a small cauliflower crust pizza. We were told multiple times that our order was next, but we saw multiple other pizzas go out to other tables around us who got there after us. It still took about 45 minutes from the time it was supposed to have been remade to the time it actually came out. I was told multiple excuses, but I've worked in the industry, and this was exceptionally unfortunate. The manager never came over to us, but the bartender was quite apologetic. It was also his first day on the job. It seems that there are some managerial issues at this restaurant, and the other one closed recently. I do hope they work out the kinks because the food was really good, but I don't think I will ever go back.

I told him Dalton Court. He said oh, let me just put my GPS on and maybe I can find it that way." Are you freaking ' serious??? How about loading your GPS at the restaurant before heading out, genius?? At 11:30pm, we called the store and cancelled the order. 1 1/2 hrs later. Then the manager calls and tried to get us to accept the delivery. After all this??? NUH UH. NO SUH. So we tell the manager we want the card refunded and she hangs up on us. She hung up on us for something that was ENTIRELY THEIR FAULT‼ While this restaurant was under original ownership, this would never have happened. With the inept new owners and seemingly their crew, I can't imagine this establishment surviving very long. We will never shadow their doorstep again.
