S&T tailors did an amazing job with my dress. I brought in my prom dress/ballgown from high school (7 years ago!) hoping to wear it for a black tie event. I wasn't sure it was possible, but I needed it to be about two sizes larger. S&T added a beautiful corset in less than two weeks (!!) for only $150, which was 100% worth it. They do a great job but are pretty busy so it's best to allow at least 3-5 days if not more. Despite what's on the web page, they do not accept credit cards. Cash for new customers, cash or check for returning customers according to the sign in their door. You must pay when dropping off. read more

My go to tailor! I have had several things altered here to fit me. One dress needed a lot of work. Very good prices, too. They do an excellent job. She does have an accent and sometimes there is a slight language barrier. I've lived in several foreign countries, so I don't mind explaining things a little more. I enjoy it. read more

I brought my wedding dress to get altered after discovering that it no longer fit my chest. She not only rebuilt the bodice to the point of it almost being a new bodice piece, but redid beading that had fallen off after purchasing the dress. She also made a beautiful bustle with my complicated skirt. She was amazingly sweet and talented. She also altered my husband's clothes for the wedding and did an amazing job with his as well. read more

I bought a dress for my daughters wedding and it was way too long. I am short. The straps were also too long. It came with a built in bra which I didn't like, I need underwire. She took out the bra, adjusted the straps and the bodice. She hemmed the dress and the attached slip for $136.00 which I think was a fair price. She did a great job and I looked great for my daughters wedding. Totally recommend!!! read more

I was extremely disturbed by the lack of professionalism on the phone. I took my daughters wedding dress, purchased at Ava Lauren for over $2,500 to be taken in the bodice. My daughter didn't want to take it off, totally in love with the dress, examined it over and over; appliques, beading, fitting and so on. After the initial fitting it was very clear that only the bodice was to be taken in. My daughter can not wear heels due to a knee injury and the length was right where we wanted it to be, "perfect". After paying for the dress, she examined it; only to find a "heel" hole in the bottom and beads off of the appliques and string hanging. The woman was steaming it when she walked in. My daughter brought these issues to their attention and was told she "was being cheap". She said well this hole wasn't in it prior to dropping it off and these strings were missing beads and hanging and I didn't want it steamed, "I told you that". The man again said "you are being cheap" and excuse me "for doing something nice by steaming it". This is a delicate dress that should not have direct heat to the appliques. Our theory is that someone tried the dress on in the shop, put the hole in the bottom and while steaming it back to shape placed a high amount of heat on the fabric melting the appliques and beads fell off. I will not refer anyone ever to this company! read more

Although initially, I was a bit skeptical to take a few sports coats to an unknown alteration place (despite it coming recommended), I am glad I took a chance. The desired modifications were done on time and looking at the sports coats now, one could never tell that they had been taken in quite a bit. The measuring for the alteration was quick and clearly effective based on the outcome. I will definitely keep taking all items requiring alteration back to this place from now on. read more
