Have been wanting to visit this place ever since my partner found out about them! They're a family owned donut shop that also sells savory pastries like kolache and croissants! When I stepped into the place, it smelled so heavenly from all the donuts even though I was wearing a mask!! That's how fragrant their donuts were! The staff were so friendly, especially the mum, makes you feel super welcomed! I got a original glazed donut, a kolache and a sausage croissant to go, and they all added up to less than $5!!!! Super affordable! The donut was so delicious. It's airy like the ones from Shipley's but with more substance, and not cakey or heavy like Krispy Kreme and dunkin! The kolache s were so soft and fluffy, and the sausage was not overly salty! The croissant wasn't really like a croissant, more like a buttery soft bread, which I honestly don't mind at all! They ran out of donut holes that day, but I will definitely be back again to get them! Sadly, they open and close really early, so I have to wake up earlier to get them next time - but I'm so happy I found this place! read more

It's not often you stop into a place for a snack and leave 30 min later thinking WOW. The food alone is worth 5 stars but the family running it would also be enough for the rating. Never have I ever been given a day old donut from here, they're always made fresh and oh my goodness they are so good they just dissolve in your mouth. SH is in DANGEROUSLY close proximity to my house. I think it took me a grand total of 15 minutes this morning to pull out of my driveway, arrive at SH, drool over their large case of very visually-appealing baked goods, pick a few things out, and drive home. Now I'm really wishing I had walked, because Lord knows that the calories I just consumed ain't gonna burn themselves off. 1 sausage/egg/cheese kolache, half a glazed donut, and half a pecan cinnamon roll later, the SH-induced sugar coma has me a little spacey and cross-eyed as I attempt to write this review, but I feel SERIOUSLY compelled to do so. This place has possibly the best glazed donut I've ever eaten in my life. Extremely light and fluffy (I don't care for dense donuts) with the perfect amount of glaze. I probably could have eaten a dozen of them, and I'm not even that big on sweets. Maybe the best part? It was free! We were the only customers in the store, and the incredibly warm and friendly proprietor completely doted on us and slipped free donut holes along with a regular glazed into our bag. REPEAT CUSTOMERS FOR LIFE! Haha! My sausage/egg/cheese kolache could have been a little cheesier but was darn near perfect with the lightest and freshest kolache bread I've had in a long time. The pecan-topped cinnamon roll was (again) not quite as dense and buttery as your regular cinnamon roll, but was still very good and I didn't feel quite as guilty as I normally do when eating a cinnamon roll. We still have some kind of cream cheese and peach pastry wrapped up on the counter, but I seriously doubt it lasts the whole afternoon. I really, really hope this place succeeds - we desperately need more homegrown food options in our neighborhood, which is basically a fast food wasteland. SH has amazing hours for a donut/kolache/taco place (5am-5pm every day), so there are no excuses for getting yourself over to the east side and giving it a try! read more

EXCELLENT! I'd never made it in here before because.. well.. come on. It's not exactly the most inviting location. But since this place is literally just down the street from me now and I've had more than one friend recommend it, my boyfriend and I decided to try it out. Yay! So many different kinds of doughnuts and kolaches! We've been here a few times now and it has been great. My only issue is that I have been disappointed a few times by the doughnuts. I got a chocolate yeast doughnut with chocolate icing and chocolate sprinkles. When I bit into it, I was hoping for a chocolate explOSion in my mouth... instead, it tasted like flour. It didn't even taste like chocolate! I had my boyfriend and my other friend try it to make sure it wasn't just me and they both agreed. Totally flavorless. Weird. The apple fritter I had was also EXTREMELY rich. But otherwise, they have all been delicious! Also, the last couples times we've gone by there, they've given us a couple of the wrong kinds of doughnuts or kolaches and we realized we were charged for them when we got home. I'll just make sure to be watchful of what they're grabbing next time. The two people who are always in the place are super friendly and sociable. They made lots of jokes with us when we got there and were really, really nice. Everything is very reasonably priced, cheap even! Listen, I'm kind of picky about my food; be it steak or baked goods. I have found the mecca of doughnuts, y'all. It's on Manor, tucked away in a building with the sweetest folks working there. My mouth is watering just writing this. I have tried the glazed. It's fluffy, perfect, and not greasy texture. Oh myyyyyy goodness. You see, some doughnuts (who will remain nameless here) tend to make me feel like I've just taken a bite of old, cheap cafeteria bread soaked in Crisco. Then, I feel like I have that Crisco smeared all over my mouth. It's disgusting and there is not a damn thing yummy about it. However, even the cinnamon rolls here are fluffy and light and perfect. Blueberry doughnuts are just so delicious, as well. I have brought the kolaches to work and the guys tell me that they are fantastic, as well. I am so happy to have this place close to home and such sweet people working here! I love my 'hood. read more

SOOO GOOOOD!! when i first drove by i was a little skeptical at the location and building... (doesnt look too much like a donut shop;;) but it was sooo goood!!! The plain glazed donut is very light and fluffy and their chocolate donut is superr good!!! actually, almost everything there is super good :P i tried the apple fritters cause everyone on yelp seemed to recommend it, but I definitely wasn't too into that.. it was too sweet and dense for my taste;; and the breakfast tacos. oh my word the breakfast tacos. THE BEST EVER. i always get the potato egg cheese taco.. the filling is almost like a mashed potato consistency but sooo goood!! it doesn't sound tempting, but once you try it you'll kind of understand...........;; The lady (sometimes the man) is soooo nice! she always seems so happy and cheery. and only after going there 2 times, she remembered me! :D Overall i loved everything about this store and it's my go to store for donuts! read more

"GPS, go home. You're drunk." We yelped for some good donuts on our way to check out of our hotel. By absolutely refusing to pay/fight for parking just to get freaking donuts, we let the GPS drag us out on Manor to a run down building half covered in graffiti that looked more like an old school auto stop than a donut shop. You wouldn't even notice this place if you weren't specifically looking for it. The second we opened the barred-up glass door, the intoxicating scent of high quality, first-rate diabetes filled me with memories of my favorite donut shop back in Houston. I could just sense we were in the right place. We picked up two chocolate-covered cake donuts, a cinnamon twist, apple fritter, two jumbo sausage and cheese kolaches, and a regular sausage and cheese kolache. Road food of the highest order. Oh, and they have Arizona green tea tall boys so I grabbed one of those too. Total came to under $10. The cinnamon twist MELTED in my mouth. So fresh and flaky even at noon! The apple fritter could take Paula Deen out. They warmed it up in the bag and when they handed it over, the bag was dripping on the bottom. I honestly couldn't taste the apples, it was more like a sugar-dipped stick of butter!! Jumbo jalapeno sausage kolaches are LEGIT. Not your typical crappy liquid cheese with a few chunks of jalapeno stuffed in over a plain link. These are actual JALAPENO CHEESE SAUSAGES! And they are HOT. Boyfriend made sounds I hadn't heard before while eating them. He's probably going to be pissed I'm only giving this place 4 stars. The reason I've got to stick with 4 stars is because the regular sausage cheese kolache was dreadfully typical and the apple fritter practically doubled my chance of getting the beetus. Also the location is a bit sketch and far out of the way to boot. None of those things will keep me from visiting SH Donuts again when we make it back to Austin. Tried it for the first time today, and I will definitely go back! It may not look like much from the outside- it's in an old gas station and one side is an out-of-business smoke shop, but inside the donut shop it's clean and bright and the staff was friendly. They have plenty of parking and several tables inside for eating there. The kolaches were large, fresh and very tasty. The donuts were delicious- very fresh and didn't have a greasy taste at all- which is common in small places like this. We bought 2 sausage and cheese croissants, 6 donuts, 2 chocolate milks and 1 orange juice for $12.55 They had- kolaches- sausage with cheese, smoked sausage, both with and without jalapeños. croissants- sausage and cheese, egg and sausage, egg and cheese, all with or without jalapeños. tacos- egg and cheese, egg and potato, egg and sausage donuts- apple fritters, glazed, chocolate covered, chocolate covered with sprinkles, chocolate custard filled, raspberry filled, apple filled, chocolate filled, maple, cake, chocolate with nut sprinkles, coconut sprinkled, glazed donut holes and apple filled turnover. 2 refrigerated drink case that held milks, juices, water, sodas and sports drinks. read more
