Steak & Eggs and Egg benedict
    Minh D.

Elegant eats with extensive crepe options and special brunch items. I really wanted to order the shakshuka but they were out when we're there around 12pm. got the egg benedict with brisket instead and wow, what a special dish! The portion is managable and the side potatoes that come with it was *chefs kiss*. The beer cheddar benedict sauce was unique and very tasty. Bf got the steak and egg crepe and like it. Cappuccino looks super smooth and my orange juice was freshly squeezed, which is super rare these days. The only reason why I'm docking a star is there were some flies and space feels like it could be cleaner, the seats look quite old and used even though nothing was malfunctioning.

Great little cafe with art deco style. Coffee is wonderful, avocado toast is delicious! Loved the music!

Cool old elevators that were once the lobby that is now the dining area.

This is an interesting find! It's 'order at the counter' and sit in this interesting old lobby that they've turned into a seating area. The food and cocktail was enjoyable. I'd come back again if in town!

Absolutely adorable little cafe. It's on the first floor of the Scarborough building which did cause me some difficulty in finding it (entirely my fault there was a sign that said Scarborough Cafe). Ordered the Berry Brûlée and it was packed full of blueberries and strawberries. The fruits felt really fresh and they were nicely balanced by the sweeter raspberry jam. There was a QR code on the table to place orders which were they sent to the back. It took a while for the crepe to be brought out even though there weren't much customers in the cafe but the wait was worth the very fresh and refreshing crepe! Adorable adorable cafe and would love to come here and try out some more of their menu items!!

Yummy pork belly breakfast sandwich. Staff was very nice. Cute little (like maybe can sit 20?) place in the lobby of office/apartment building. Charge extra for to go items. Order by QR code.

Small little shop in what looks like a small lobby. We stopped by Sunday at 11am and they were out of 5 items (small menu to begin with)-- We were a little bummed because it was all the steak and brisket items. But no worries, we just got coffee and a Croissant Perdu. Service was great, it was perfect for a quick and easy morning drink and snack, but wish they had more options.

The Scarbrough is a beautiful spot for breakfast or lunch. It is located in the lobby of the Scarbrough building, which used to be home to the flagship Scarbrough & Sons department store and is still decorated in the Art Deco Style. Not only is it a scenic spot to spend a couple of hours, the food is surprisingly tasty. Most of the menu consists of different types of crepes, so we ordered the Goatshroom crepe and a Croque Madame. The Croque Madame was deliciously cheesy and was covered in the perfect amount of béchamel cheese. The goatshroom crepe also had good flavor, although the king trumpet mushrooms had a very rubbery texture and were slightly difficult to chew. You order using a QR code at your table, and you can sit anywhere that is not reserved. I would definitely return to the Scarbrough the next time I am craving a crepe, however I recommend reserving a table in advance if you plan to visit on the weekend, as the restaurant is not very large and fills up quickly.

Decided to start off the weekend here with some brunch. If you've never been here, The Scarbrough is located in the lobby on 6th Street, with the entrance between Velvet Taco and Ruth's Chris Steak House. You open the door, and you're already inside. Those who live/work here might come down through the elevators. Bar seating is to the left; lounge seating elsewhere. If it's your first time here, the staff will let you know that this place is counter serve: you can either order at the counter, or scan a QR code at the table and order online. They will also hand you some physical menus to look at. We ordered the following items to try: a Croissandwich, a Brunchilada, a BLTC crepe (under savory), an unsweetened black iced tea, and a cafe au lait. Let's start with the forgetables: - The Croissandwich came with a side of roasted, seasoned potatoes, which were enjoyable. The Croissandwich itself had some type of circular flaky pastry used as the outside layers. Based on the menu name, the intention seems to have been to use a legit croissant texture. But those outer layers were not particularly flaky, nor did it have appreciable layers of buttery flavor, nor did it make a crisp, crackling, crunch sound when biting into it. Rather, it was kind of soft, as if it had absorbed some moisture. So the croissant portion was pretty lame. The inside was a bit more interesting. There were two eggs, sunny side up. There was also a generous amount of ham, plus some cheese. So the filling to bread ratio was solid. If the outer croissants had been more satisfying, and if there were something slightly acidic, like a tomato, included, I'm sure this Croissandwich would have been more memorable. - The Brunchilada seems like it was a burrito drizzled with salsa verde, rather than brunch enchiladas. I found the priorities of this item were a bit off. Taste wise, the main event was the salsa verde, but it was mostly spicy, without a particularly compelling salsa flavor (lacking the sweetness and sourness you'd expect from stewed or roasted tomatillos). For the non-salsa portion, the main character was scrambled egg (but quantity), with avocado, the pork belly carnitas, cheese, and refried beans as supporting cast members. So lots of egg, and basically uninteresting flavor combinations. (Yes it was bland and boring. Only the salsa verde was somewhat interesting, but only on the spice side). - Cafe au Lait. Well, it tasted like bitter coffee mixed with milk. I guess there was an attempt at some foam art on top, maybe. But perhaps I was expecting them make the preparation with coffee that has a flavor profile other than bitter. But then again, what do I know? I tend to drink tea, not coffee. Onto the bit more memorable: - Unsweetened Black Iced Tea: it came with a blackened roasted lime slice on top. Nice. And, it was peachy. Smooth, pleasant to inhale, thirst quenching. I'd order another. - Savory Crepe BLTC: This was pretty awesome. The crepe itself had a great texture, and held together very well. The local flies even loved it! One had the audacity to dive straight onto the crepe and start sucking through its straw. It soon died tableside, after I waved it away, and it sought to quench its thirst with condensed water left on the table. It became careless, and stopped paying attention to its surroundings, and died, crushed under a napkin. Poor thing. Anyways, the filling of the crepe was spot on. The tomato-thyme jam that was included within really pulled everything together; it was also the lightest of the three food items. Conclusion: 1. You could make a reservation on their website if you wanted to. Maybe if it gets busier, that functionality might be more useful. 2. Cafe in a lobby space. Yes, the elevators work. Yes, the unisex bathroom is down the hall through the stairwell. 3. I would suspect their crepes are on point. I'm less certain about their other dishes. Seems like their egg-based dishes lack flavor. Perhaps their fruit-based dishes have more zing to them. Also, their pork belly itself is quite good. 4. For the price, portions are filling. If the flavor was there, it'd be an even better value. 5. I didn't try the QR codes at the table. But they do bring out your order to where you've elected to sit.

Avocado Toast salty dulce de leche latta banana crepe

I was in Austin for ACL and we wanted a quick breakfast close to our hotel. We stopped here 2 mornings in a row because it was so good. The salty dulce de leche latte is so delicious. I got the avocado toast both days because it was so good. If I ever end up back in Austin I will definitely be going again. We loved sitting outside and eating in downtown, but there were seats inside as well. The workers were so nice and recognized us the next morning and remembered our order.

The croissant sandwiches are AMAZING!!! You must try them, and add the egg! Your order off the digital menu or at the counter, very quick service. Iced lattes add coconut flavoring,WOW! Served in a mason jar! Very small place in a buildings lobby, but sufficient. Small tables spread throughout.. This is my go to everytime I'm in Austin for breakfast!

They were very friendly and accommodating of my food allergies, and made me this custom dish plate that looked beautiful and tasted great. It was a pleasant date spot downtown, and I plan to be back if I'm ever in the area.

A hidden gem-- coffee shop turned speakeasy by night! Stumbled upon this spot for drinks, and really enjoyed the vibes!! Gorgeous aesthetic inside, with a pretty decent cocktail selection: classics with a bit of a twist. DJ was great, and the staff was super friendly. Worth checking it out!

Some leave their dogs on the overly nice furniture, leaving fur behind. It doesn't bother me, but I can understand how it would bother others looking at this as a restaurant, instead of what it is, a daytime coffee lounge and an evening cocktail bar. If it were just a coffee shop, there wouldn't be enough outlets, and there should be more pastries. If it were just a bar, it'd be a little too bright in the daytime, and the laptop workers (me included) would hurt the cool cocktail vibe...BUT it's not just those two things. It's both, and they do a remarkable job of accommodating everyone while maintaining a chill vibe. Seriously, everyone has surprised me with how nice they are here, and we're lucky to have something so architecturally significant with high-end indoor/outdoor furniture. This could just be another $$$ restaurant that detracts from the city's culture rather than adding to it.

I came here on a Saturday afternoon and it was packed, every single outdoor table was full but some of the picnic tables were long enough to share which is what we ended up doing. Even though it was very busy our order really didn't take long at all. You order at the counter and are given a number there to bring to our table which is nice. They had one of my favorite ciders Smell the Van which I loved! And my fiancé had one of their iced lattes which he said was excellent. For food I tried their new sandwich, the FRIED GREEN BLTomato SANDO (english muffin, bacon, lettuce, fried green tomato, remoulade, farm fried egg) and my fiancé had their CARNITAS HASH (crispy fingerling potatoes, pork carnitas, fried egg creamy poblano sauce, pickled red onions, cotija cheese). My fiancé loved the carnitas hash. My sandwich was pretty good; I don't think I'd order it again though. I think it'd be better without the spicy In-N-Out style sauce on it and if they offered it on sourdough instead of the English muffin (since it's stacked so high it's really messy to eat). One thing that was a bummer was that they don't carry ranch dressing. I wanted a side salad but they only had a vinaigrette dressing which I'm not a huge fan of so decided not to order the salad. I'd definitely come back and try something else on their menu though!
