I had to update my review due to some disappointing errors and customer service issues today. I loved Sa La Thai and have been ordering from them for years and years. Tonight I ordered via GrubHub and got my normal order of a curry with extra vegetables, requested at medium spice levels. I always order extra vegetables because even though the curry dishes are at a minimum $12, the containers always come half way filled and are mostly sauce with minimal vegetables (even if you order the tofu and veg option). The dish came without the extra vegetables, which they did refund- however, the dish was unbelievably spicy despite my medium selection via the order, which I get all the time. When I told them that the curry would be thrown out because it wasn't made as requested (I literally couldn't eat it) the dish was not fully refunded. With two mistakes made and the dish wasted completely I don't understand why a full refund wouldn't be processed but I sadly will not be ordering from them in the future. read more

The staff were very eager to make our dining experience memorable, from making sure that our water glasses were full to making changes to our dinner to help reduce some of the heat level on the Panang. The restaurant was very clean and organized, of which these are great attributes along with the quality of the food and staff to bring us back here again. read more

What an absolutely AMAZING meal! Wow!!! Sa La Thai is my new GO TO restaraunt now. The food is absolutely incredible, staff is on point, and the atmosphere is beautiful and peaceful. I can not even begin to explain how good their food is! A party of 4 and we tried each plate and had several appetizers and EVERYTHING was 5 star quality all the way. If there was a 10 star rating I would have given it that! GO!!! Just GO!!! You will be so glad you did. Best Thai food EVER. My party is STILL raving about that meal well into the next day. Sa La Thai is a welcome addition to downtown Lancaster and offers an extensive vegetarian/vegan menu. Virtually all dishes can be made vegetarian or vegan. Would highly recommend it. Will definitely go back. read more

I've had both lunch and dinner at Sa La Thai. I'm particularly impressed with the lunch. It includes soup, appetizer and entrees for around $9. The portions are somewhat small which some Lancastrians might not like, but it seemed about right for lunch. The food was terrific. Dinner was also excellent. The price was a good bit higher than lunch, but not compared to other restaurants of similar caliber. Presentation, atmosphere and service were all top-notch. You should at least give them a try. read more

This is our go to Thai restaurant when we're in Lancaster. I've been here about 4-5 times and always leave happy!

Sa La Thai was my first Thai food experience and I'm now in love. Both times I got the pineapple fried rice as my entree, the first time with chicken and the second with tofu and veggies. The steamed crab dumplings were delicious, although there could be a few more helpings with the dish. The tulip dumplings are amazing as well. I am an EXTREMELY picky eater and loved everything I've tried, which is saying a lot. read more

Really four stars? I've had better pad Thai in a Chinese restaurant! The chicken was thin dry and hard like a rock. Was like eating cardboard. Maybe it was an off night? The place was busy but it was Saturday night shouldn't that be expected? My friends meal never came. The server said the kitchen made a mistake and had to re-make it. So after we were all finished eating my poor friend got her meal. She was offered no type of discount or credit for the mishap. read more

Nothing like being told you can sit to eat but it would most likely end up being takeout, a half hour before the restaurant closed.

2 lil ass chicken, which was pink and nothing but fat in it. Less than a cup of white rice and salad for like 13 dollar. I was tight.

I walked through the restaurant and was seated by a nice lady who forgot to ask if we wanted any drinks and instead got 4 cups of water. Then we ordered the appetizers which were very good. We then ordered the main course which I ordered the pineapple fried rice with seafood. They handed me the meal and it came out excellent except the food was way too much and felt they could have used less seafood or made them chopped down so it wasn't so heavy. I enjoyed the meal, but I thought the atmosphere was a little too modern and the typo on the menus showed they new little of their own culture. read more

Lemongrass soup was good and spicy. Pad See Ew was tasty, but three times spicy was not too spicy. Only downsides were service was slow, but very polite, even though we were the only table and shrimp was served tail on. Better than expected for Lancaster. read more

Excellent vegan and vegetarian options. Cashew and mock duck was my choice. My wife had the shrunken noodle with mock duck. I wish the portions were a little bigger, but it was all amazing and the service was very good. read more

Had tulip dumplings as appetizer and it was delicious. My mate had the summer rolls and reported them to be just ok. He had the paf see yew at a 4 level spice and reported it good but the heat level was more like a 2. I had the cashew chicken and asked fir a level 2 spice. It was a very light and delicate sauce and I enjoyed it but there was zero heat. They promptly brought red pepper to help the dish. Overall experience was very good but with only one reason for a 3 vs. 4.....there is a horrible smell that petmiated the restaurant. I'm not sure what it was but it reminded me if perm chemicals st a beauty salon. Very strong. Perhaps from the carpet, not sure. If you don't have a great sense if smell, then you may not notice. We really love this restaurant! The food is always consistently delicious, especially with the spice levels. My go-to meals are green or red curry with tofu, drunken noodles with tofu, and green curry fried rice. The decor is very nice, service is great (even though when you stay after 9pm, you get your table cleared and people staring at you- I get it, you want to go home), and relaxing atmosphere, before 9pm of course. We always bring "Thai first timers" here because of the variety and consistent quality of food, so we always know it will be great! read more

Have eaten in a couple of times and have ordered delivery a few. Service is always super polite and the food is pretty yummy. I still prefer the Massaman curry at Lemongrass but, the crabmeat fried rice at Sa La Thai makes up for it 100%. I could eat it every night for dinner and not complain... well, until seeing my toes becomes a challenge. :) read more

Three stars because it was fresh, clearly labeled gluten free options and our water glasses were never close to being empty. That being said, the two very different dishes we ordered to share tasted almost exactly alike and there wasn't any spice...I guess they don't get many requests for spicy food in this area! Very nice relaxing place to go and eat. The waitresses were very friendly and respectful. The lunch specials were a great deal. I got the coconut soup, which had a little bit of heat to it, the crab ragoon, which was nice and crispy on the outside and oh so creamy in the inside. It was decent, but not the best. The dishes were somewhat watery and not as flavorful as I like. It satisfied my thai food craving to an extent, but the prices were too steep for the quality in my opinion. I would expect this type of food more likely at a street booth or food court. For being in Lancaster, this was a pretty good place to get Thai food. I'm a little spoiled by having phenomenal stuff out in Vegas, but was not disappointed at all and enjoyed my meal very much. The crab rangoon was decent, good dipping sauce with it. The yellow curry with chicken was very good, and just the right amount of spicy for me at "medium." Definitely will be back! read more

Stumbled upon this place on new years eve...champagne in tow....awesome dinner. Perfect service. Been there a few times now and even took my father and his fiance to celebrate their engagement and of course.....the service was great again as well as the food and they were fairly busy for lunch.
