Ordered takeout from here after a run. My food was ready when I came in to pick up. Very hidden little spot in Lancaster with not many frills, but great food! I ordered pork lo mein and wonton soup. These are not typical menu items for me, but I was trying something different. The lo mein had good flavor and the pork was tender. The wonton soup was amazing. The wontons themselves were 10/10. I started coming here on Mondays because my regular Chinese restaurant is closed. I love chicken and broccoli with garlic sauce I love general tso's chicken and shrimp egg foo young. Without question after eating at Chinese restaurants a thousand times this is the best. The atmosphere is not the best but the prices aren't bad anf a food is outstanding.. One of the oldest and best Chinese restaurants in Lancaster. They still make great General Tso's.

Yang's has returned to the Lancaster Chinese scene after being closed for some time but now is under new ownership and management. Initially when they opened there was a lot of controversy about whether they were good or not. Many people complained that it is not the same and I argue that it should not be the same since being run by new people. Fortunate for me, Yang's is pretty close to where I work so I've been able to have them several times now and I've been satisfied each time. The new owners are very friendly and enthusiastic. The lunch portions are very generous and have been spicy when I asked for them to be. Inside the restaurant, the layout is a little bit different from how it been when the previous owners ran the establishment however dine-in service is now nearly the same as it was before. By this I mean complementary fried noodle chips and duck sauce are served as well as hot tea at the table. Prices are pretty much identical from what they had been before however I did notice that one of my favorite dishes previously is no longer on the menu. I will continue to patronize this restaurant as the food has been satisfying and the owners have been great toward me. Insider tip: they make certain condiments in house which differ from what you get in the packets. Ask to see what they have. But be careful, if you like hot mustard theirs is pretty intense and I love it! read more

I think I have finally found the right Chinese restaurant for delivery. This is based on a first-time visit. I ordered the Pork Egg Foo Young, the Pork Fried Rice, and the Sweet and Sour Pork. First of all, the sauces for both items were delicious and plenty enough to go with the Quart sized servings. The Egg Foo Young was my favorite, with 2 very large patties filled with lots of meat and veggies as well as the egg. The Fried Rice was also a huge winner, once again filled with plenty of meat, veggies, and a delightful flavor. The Sweet and Sour Pork was a very generous portion that I can easily make 3 meals out of. The pork inside the tasty coating was juicy and also full of flavor. The coating was nice and crisp with no oily taste. I really enjoyed my meal and look forward to a couple more servings from the generous portions. I also look forward to future visits where I will give a few more items on the extensive menu a try. read more

This had been my favorite Chinese place for the last 30+ years. When they closed down I bounced around from different Chinese restaurants trying to find a new favorite but never could. After this place reopened, I think it got even better. We've been back 3 or 4 times since reopening and everything has been awesome. Service is attentive. Clean dining area. I have no pictures but I got their dinner combo tonight which I scheduled for pick up at 7:10pm. Got done with my thing a little early and got to the establishment at 6:30. Place was packed with diners and takeout! I told them my situation and they made my food right away. I got the general tsou dinner combo I think was like 16 with tips. Super good fried rice like I remembered and chicken was spicy (could be spicier and I ordered extra hot!) I asked if they could make a Mongolian beef dinner combo in the future (not on the menu) and they said they could. Good accommodation, good service by staff, good food, gives it 5 FIVE stars from me! read more

Went here for the first time yesterday, got takeout, I think I finally found the closest thing to New York Chinese food. Very friendly people, the fried rice could definitely use some help but other than that everything was fantastic. Add ribs, egg rolls, hot and sour soup, all of those were excellent, also got general TSO's chicken, which was also very good. Two other things they had that I also miss were those almond cookies that a lot of Chinese restaurants in New York sell, they had those, and also the homemade crispy noodles. So many places now give you those cellophane bags and those noodles are complete garbage. These were actually still warm Because they were just frying them up. I would take those with some duck sauce and hot mustard mixed together instead of popcorn any day of the week. read more

I really wanted to like this restaurant when it opened under new ownership after an extended period of not being operational. My first two visits were way less than exceptional, but I thought that the new staff and management needed time to settle in. Recently, due to having a relative hospitalized in Lancaster, I decided to give them another try. Unfortunately, the food quality was still very disappointing. The fried rice was a gooey, sticky, mostly tasteless mass stuffed into a box and the shrimp had a much too thick layer of batter and were more like a pastry than an entree. Should I try again? Will I try again? I'm still unsure at this point, but I would love to be able to enjoy consistently terrific food from this location again. read more

Happy to have found a decent Chinese restaurant, in Lancaster and so, very close to where I live. The owners/family were very friendly. I found the food in being fresh and tasty. Veggies were perfectly stir fried and meat, tender. Their eggrolls weren't of the ho hum variety and this, I noticed - right away. I asked for a sauce with heat and was given a homemade chili oil, that packed a mighty punch. I was disappointed in Yang's fried rice. It was a bit too basic and lacked all those goodies that make fried rice so appealing (egg scramble, carrots, scallions, peas). One thing to note is that if you order a dish with veggies, meat takes a back seat. An order of shrimp with green beans, was more like an order of green beans. From my experience, many Chinese restaurants have an abundance of meat in their meat/veg dishes and you may or may not be hunting for vegetables. I was wanting more shrimp, but this restaurant is definitely worth more visits. read more

On an extremely busy carry out evening, Christmas evening, we, along with several other carry out customers were compelled to wait over 2 (TWO!) hours and yet our (that is several customers) meals had yet to be finished or even in preparation! The place was disorganized chaos, leading to mixed up orders and arguments between the cashier and the kitchen. What a terrible experience. Food has flavor which I've been missing from many generic Chinese restaurants. I judge a place by their general tso's. It's an easy dish but not just breaded chicken doused in syrup. This one was really good so I'll be back to try the other dishes. read more

We've been back 4-5 times (carryout) since they reopened, well worth the 20 minute drive every visit. Our usual order is Crab Rangoon, Veggie lo-mein and either Kung Pao chicken or General Tso's. Yangs by a landslide is the best in Lancaster. read more

As a frequent client of Yang's Restaurant for over ten years, before covid and during covid I was eager and happy to return to Yang's Restaurant and be able to sit and eat there again. The place looks different a lot of blue and what seems typical an actual customer sitting space with kitchen item like silverware, small tubs, small sauce serving dishes and so on. The actual kitchen is where the restroom used to be with dangling sheets covering the work area. My experience was far from what I remember. I am also aware that it has new management. But to keep the same name brings same or higher expectations. I visited Yang's recently and I was very surprised to see customers being served in a division cafeteria style plate, when before they served the food in China plates they were so pretty and immediately served hot tea along with the order. I ordered fried wontons and they were rock hard, I could barely tear them apart with my own hands and tiny serving inside. I ended up leaving them on the table not to mention it was freezing in there also seems very common in (Chinese) restaurants even during the winter, I wore my hoody and pulled my long sleeves over my hands. In closing and I guess the most important thing was the food. I ordered the boneless spare ribs which used to so good and flavorful, my favorite. I was so disappointed. The sauce was so watered down and just didn't taste the same. The customer was ok but they seem to forget we were there from time to time. read more
