I personally prefer the feta fries over the spicy feta fries (it is a bit too vinegary for me). This place has great food! I ordered the chicken Shawarma plate, and was super happy about that decision. My only baby note would be to do the lemon aïoli sauce on the side next time, as it was a little too much sauce for me. The hummus was great, and I loved my grilled veggies! Generous portions...mine lasted me two meals. I called to place a to go order, they quoted me 10 minutes and it was ready even sooner. AMAZING!!! We went to Saba's the first time last month after a recommendation from a friend. This is some of THE BEST Mediterranean food I've ever had. The falafel is on point... crispy on the outside and oh, so tender and moist in the center. The pesto hummus is to die for and everything that we ordered was made with care and attention to detail. It literally does not get better than this!! My husband gets the chicken kebabs and I get the gyro with grilled veggies and lamb shwarma. We went again for my husband's birthday and brought my mother who loved everything she ordered as well. The employees are super friendly and we can't wait for our next visit. We truly enjoyed the food. The hummus and baba ghanouj were amazing. They have outdoor seating which is why we chose it. We both had lamb shank because we love lamb. While it was cooked perfectly, it was covered in a sauce that overwhelmed the lamb flavor. Because they don't wear masks, we won't be going back until the pandemic is over. Well that lunch could not have been better. Both the food and the service were perfect. You can't tell from the pic, but that's their Chicago Gyros, which is the meat charbroiled. It was great, if you're into the little more charred thing. One thing about the service, which I love and don't see often is that the water and drink was asked not from our waiter, but from who was available at that moment. So we didn't wait the couple minutes until our server ( who also is the owner) was free. Been a couple of times and I'm not close, but need to take the drive out here for a dinner. read more

Shocked. That's what I was because from the outside, this place is plain but once inside, it is anything but. Although there is a distinct Greek theme here, the place gave off a more middle Eastern vibe (much more so than Greece based on my recent trip to Greece this summer). I love gyros but wasn't hungry enough for one in a pita, so I ordered a regular size Greek salad with gyro meat, aptly named Sleepy Gyro Salad. So tasty and so much food! Our waitress glided to our table. She was also busy, when she wasn't caring for customers, she was sweeping or vacuuming. I hope the person taking my phone order was not offended by my request to remove the feta from my entree and sides. I know Feta cheese is a staple ingredient of Mediterranean cuisine. One would think that after I lived in Greece for two years that I would have acquired a taste for it, but I didn't. So I substituted feta for Parmesan on my fries. 3 stars... I really wanted to give more stars, but the food was just ok and the strip mall location doesn't add anything to the experience either. I went to dinner here the other night with my boyfriend on HIS SUGGESTION. Since I had never been before, I was up for the new adventure. I like that it is just a casual little place and the pictures of Greece on the walls had me thinking it may impress me. Unfortunately, not the case. I will say that our waitress, Anna, was really sweet and knowledgeable. You could tell she's been working there for years. We started with the red lentil soup which was delicious and Anna brought us a taste of the spinach curry soup as well - it was spicy but tasty and had me excited for what was to come. We went with the Sleepy Gyro Salad and the 'Vegetarian Plate II" which was more than enough food for us to share. Too bad none of it was that great. The vegetarian plate came with hummus, baba, falafel, dolmas, tabbouleh, spanikopita and yogurt sauce for $12.45. Not such a deal. The hummus is better at Pita Jungle, the baba ghannouj was ok but really smokey, the falafel just eh, the dolmas and tabbouleh both mediocre, and the spanikopita was dry instead of moist and flaky... The 'sleepy gyro' salad is filled with too many onions and has a ridiculous amount of garlic... If you like onions, garlic, and gyro though, this is a good deal at $8.55! Sorry, Saba's - even though Anna was a great waitress, I will not be coming back to visit you anytime soon... instead, I'll be on the hunt for Greek / Middle Eastern Cuisine that compares to that I grew up with in Detroit! read more

Yet another gem that my family and I discovered during the pandemic. And when I say gem, I'm not overstating in the slightest. Before I get to the food I just have to complement the establishment on having the friendliest of employees. They answer the phone happy, the great you happily and it makes a huge first impression. Ok so the food? Yeah it's absolutely delicious. If you do takeout and have a long drive the smell is pure torture. Everything we have ordered has been incredible.
