You can tell the teaching here is rooted in years of study and real understanding of how the body moves, heals, and strengthens. That makes a huge difference, and it's something I personally value a lot when choosing where to practice. The atmosphere in the studio stays very authentic to traditional teaching styles, which creates a calm, grounded environment the moment you walk in. The staff is always friendly, approachable, and welcoming, and the space itself is very comfortable with a large parking lot, reasonable pricing, and plenty of class times that make it easy to fit into a busy schedule. Philip is an amazing teacher. His depth of knowledge, years of practice, and ability to explain movement in a way that makes sense -- and even makes it fun -- is truly special. I was a Yoga Joint member for four years with Davie being my home studio…read more I couldn't have asked for a better hot yoga journey than the one I experienced at Yoga Joint. Yoga Joint was like my second home and I got along great with the instructors and made sure I was super sweet to the managers and front desk employees. However, over time it became really corporate and impersonal, the classes felt like you were just part of some factory assembly line and the front desk employee turnaround really took a toll on the customer service. Last summer I received a phone call from a manager, Vanesa Gentile, stating that I should probably cancel my membership because I'm 'unsafe' for asking the front desk employees if it's their job to fix the lockers that weren't working properly as they stared at me blankly when I asked for help finding a locker that worked. After trying to discuss this with the higher ups and receiving the corporate runaround, I promptly canceled my membership. I am so glad that the staff was able to return to their safe space! I now see in other reviews below that I'm not the only person that Vanesa has asked to cancel their membership. I miss the old Yoga Joint

It's crazy!!! My abdominal muscles were hurting by the end of the class with all the breathing in and out. I'm a perfectionist and the idea that I could not coordinate inhaling and retracting my abdomen and exhaling as I hyperextend my abdomen was driving me crazy! Hahahah..... I can walk and chew gum at the same time WTH!!!! I save lives for a living this should not be so hard! Oh it was, but so rewarding! You must bring water or you will think you are going to die! Hahaha.... It's a cardiovascular workout. It detoxifies the body by releasing toxins through your sweat. Improves your sleep quality. It reduces blood pressure. It strengthens your immune system. Stress relief. Mental health stability. Peace of mind. Improves your mood. (I'm always a joker already) Anti-aging effects. I recommend hot yoga to all my patients. Flexibility. There are so many benefits!!! No reason why you should not try it!!!! Had an AMAZING TIME! Did not die! Hahahhha... Met great people. Definitely recommend this location!!!! This is the second Barkan studio I've been to, but the first time I've been to this location in…read moreFort Lauderdale. One thing to note is that you if go to any Barkan studio, the classes are not transferable so the class I have for their Boca Raton studio can't be used here, but the nice thing about it is if there is any new member special, they'll let you take part in it. I purchased their, "Groupon" special which was for $39 you get 5 classes that have to be used in two months. The classes range from typically 60 minutes to 75 minutes. Barkan specializes in buckram yoga in which the room averages about 102 degrees so if this is your first time- bring water and lots of towels because you're going to sweat. The instructors will walk you through the series of poses, working with you if you have any heath issues which hinder your flexibility or maybe you're like me and just aren't that flexible at all and need help. They will let you use their bricks during class to help ease the positions. You can also rent mats, purchase water, and clothing there as well. My instructor Amanda was great and really pushed you to the limit, but you felt amazing afterward. I worked so hard in the class that I almost fell asleep immediately when I got home. The classes are challenging. The rooms fill up quickly so get there early so you have space for your mat, but definitely check it out and you'll get a great workout.

I loved it so much I used to work at the front desk in exchange for classes. Sadly I moved too far away and couldn't attend classes very often. The studio went under new ownership, and made some aesthetic changes which I found very nice. The studio is still very clean and homey, as well as organized. I can't speak for all classes or instructors, of course. But tonight I took beginners with Melody who has been there for at least 10 years. She is the real deal! An amazing yoga teacher who can break down poses anatomically, but also has an amazing spiritual presence. I'd be there every week if I lived closer.

This is located on the top floor of a building in the plaza. You can take the stairs or the small elevator to the second floor. Bring your own mat and Yoga towel as well as a face towel for sweat. Boy will you sweat! Hope you don't have a man or a towel they also provide rentals for a small fee. They also have a bathroom/locker room with some available showers in case you need to rinse off or head on over somewhere afterwards. If you need a towel, it is also three dollars for shower towels. I recommend their hot Mount Pilates class. It's the best! Sometimes classes are pretty full so you have to figure out where to place your Matt get there a little bit early to find your spot. The instructor usually will correct your form if she sees you doing it incorrectly.

The Teacher is amazing such a sweet person. I truly enjoy this class. It's an hour and a half long. The studio is so cute. They provide all your props, which is super helpful and very convenient. I don't get to make this classes as much as I would like but every time I do, I'm so happy that I went.
