As a medical professional, I deeply appreciate the level of knowledge all of the instructors have when it comes to human anatomy. You can tell the teaching here is rooted in years of study and real understanding of how the body moves, heals, and strengthens. That makes a huge difference, and it's something I personally value a lot when choosing where to practice. The atmosphere in the studio stays very authentic to traditional teaching styles, which creates a calm, grounded environment the moment you walk in. The staff is always friendly, approachable, and welcoming, and the space itself is very comfortable with a large parking lot, reasonable pricing, and plenty of class times that make it easy to fit into a busy schedule. Philip is an amazing teacher. His depth of knowledge, years of practice, and ability to explain movement in a way that makes sense -- and even makes it fun -- is truly special. The check in desk is where I was greeted by the owner Susan! She offers yoga mats & towels for a very small fee. I noticed some super cute clothing and jewelry for sale. While I waited to sign in I glanced over to my right...... I enjoyed the lovely white curtains as they caught the wind, blowing in and out. The actual studio was like being in a retreat away from all of the hustle and bustle of the real world. The floors, the inspirational quote on the wall & the basic/simple ambiance! The class was enjoyable & the stretches felt really good! Susan was fabulous! She definitely interacts around the class to ensure this newbie was doing it right! I felt comfortable and proud that I was doing this! At the close of class i will mention that she placed nice cool cloths lightly sprayed with lavender across our eyes as we lay there absorbing all of the positive vibes that surrounded us. It's crazy!!! My abdominal muscles were hurting by the end of the class with all the breathing in and out. I'm a perfectionist and the idea that I could not coordinate inhaling and retracting my abdomen and exhaling as I hyperextend my abdomen was driving me crazy! Hahahah..... I can walk and chew gum at the same time WTH!!!! I save lives for a living this should not be so hard! Oh it was, but so rewarding! You must bring water or you will think you are going to die! Hahaha.... It's a cardiovascular workout. It detoxifies the body by releasing toxins through your sweat. Improves your sleep quality. It reduces blood pressure. It strengthens your immune system. This is the second Barkan studio I've been to, but the first time I've been to this location in…read moreFort Lauderdale. One thing to note is that you if go to any Barkan studio, the classes are not transferable so the class I have for their Boca Raton studio can't be used here, but the nice thing about it is if there is any new member special, they'll let you take part in it. I purchased their, "Groupon" special which was for $39 you get 5 classes that have to be used in two months. The classes range from typically 60 minutes to 75 minutes. Barkan specializes in buckram yoga in which the room averages about 102 degrees so if this is your first time- bring water and lots of towels because you're going to sweat. The instructors will walk you through the series of poses, working with you if you have any heath issues which hinder your flexibility or maybe you're like me and just aren't that flexible at all and need help. They will let you use their bricks during class to help ease the positions. You can also rent mats, purchase water, and clothing there as well. My instructor Amanda was great and really pushed you to the limit, but you felt amazing afterward. I worked so hard in the class that I almost fell asleep immediately when I got home. The classes are challenging. The rooms fill up quickly so get there early so you have space for your mat, but definitely check it out and you'll get a great workout.

Sol is one of the most beautiful studios I have been too. It's heated and they provide the bands, balls but bring your own towel and mat. They have showers with a few supplies, towel, hair ties, spray deodorant which is nice. They also have lockers for your items during the class. Also if you want a smoothie or coffee after class they have that available inside. I highly recommended checking this studio out!

There studio is at the beginning of a row of what seems to be warehouses and garage spaces. I got lucky and found a parking spot at the front of the lot. The studio space itself is charming and relaxing. I love the small lights they have hanging from the ceiling, and the temperature inside was cool and comfortable. There was an area to place our personal belongings, and the studio was clean and well taken care of. The class I went there for was done by a traveling group, so I won't go in detail about the experience, but I enjoyed it! I would visit this space again.

This year I am going to make it a resolution to make it out at least once a month for a class with Jessie, even though the studio is now a really far schlep from my residence.
