She is pretty aggressive; wasn't sensitive to me as a client when I went in for a filling. Previous dentists, before I moved to this city, have always told me "going to give you a shot now in your gums to numb you.." Especially stated when they were going to start drilling! (though it's been years since I've had a cavity. Perhaps this is the new way of doing things?!) Dr Arias just went to town! She seemed to behave like I wasn't even there. She talked with her hygienist about their price life. I found it very odd. Dr. Arias also recommended I get Invisalign. Soon, I realized she seems to be recommending Invisalign to many clients. When I talked to friends who happen to have a her also as their dentist, it's ironic how they also were told they needed aInvisalign. Since we are in our 30s & 40s, insurance won't cover this. She actually said the same thing to all of us, "your bite isn't aligned. Invisalign will help fix those problem." Perhaps the clinic didn't have a lot of clients in midst of the pandemic and now they are recommending Invisalign to several clients. $6000 I was told for this. She is the only Dentist who has EVER told me I needed braces or any sort of treatment to straighten my teeth. Prior dentists have ALWAYS asked me if I had braces as a child. (I didn't) i've been told my teeth are very straight and very tight and I have a great smile. Unfortunately, I found a dentist who thinks otherwise. But she's alone- because I've seen five other dentists in five other states. Seems they are less about the client's need and more about collecting your money. Also, I found it odd that I couldn't get my dental cleaning and exam done in the same session. (???) Then, they schedule a third appt. for a filling. This dentist is the worst dentist! She provided a terrible service in which she damaged the root of my 2 molars in a way that I now need root canal in both the teeth. I sent her a letter from another dentist who agreed that the procedure was done badly.I have requested a refund for the wrongly done procedure but she has refused to reply.Not only is she arrogant , she has poor professional etiquettes. she kept talking to her assistant about her personal life all the while she was working on my teeth. I recently chipped a front tooth. Sabino Dental got me in as soon as possible. Dr. Arias and her staff did an excellent job matching the existing tooth's color. Dr. Arias' attention to detail is impressive. This was not my first visit and every time I have gone I have found the same level of professionalism and courtesy from Dr. Arias and her staff. I've had a considerable amount of work done at Sabino Dental over the past year: Invisalign, Bioclear on all my front teeth, a filling, and a crown. All the work was done by Dr Arias and her team. This is not a budget dentistry practice and if you're looking for cheap, go elsewhere. But if you want really high quality work done by pros using the latest equipment, then this is the place. Dr. Arias is quite skilled and also pleasant and approachable. She works fast which concerned me at first, but the result has always been excellent, so I'm quite comfortable with her now. Some people might find her aggressive - I did at first. Just ask questions, tell her you need a more detailed explanation, and she gladly provides it. My "new teeth" look great and I have had zero problems with all of the work Dr. Arias has done. I highly recommend her and her team. read more

This has been the worst dentist experience EVER for me. I was unlucky to need dental work during Covid time while stuck in Tucson and even more unlucky to enter this office. When I did, I didn't know if I was entering a plastic surgeon's office or a nightclub; later on I got the feeling I was in a used car dealership based on the treatment I was given. I was a subject to tremendous pain inflicted by Dr. Sabia first, and then Dr. Arias. I was told I would need an ungodly amount of work done in my mouth which came to a surprise to me because it was not even a whole year since I had seen my UW dentist in Seattle. I went it for a cracked crown, got bullied into a second one because when I demanded that they only do what I had initially come in for, Sabia got visibly irritated (a side note on Sabia, she is someone the staff themselves will tell you NOT to see again, which is why I was re-assigned to Arias). The work that they did caused an enormous damage in my mouth ranging from a ton of anesthesia with mixed agents (because they see you on a conveyor belt; they inject you with an anesthetic and then they leave you waiting for 40min or more and by the time they return, you need another shot. I ended up getting tachycardia and an intense restlessness from all the epi and instead of attending to me, Sabia left the room to go work on anther poor soul leaving her assist to watch me), a ton of mouth sores on the area Sabia worked on, a nerve block that left my R side of the face, forehead and scalp numb for several hours (I couldn't close my R eye), unremitting toothache that required 3 month long treatment with high doses of NSAIDs (no, no GI concern on their part), multiple trips to the office for "bite adjustment" after the seeding because the jaw isn't closing evenly, poorly seeded crowns that are painful to floss (the floss is hitting the tooth underneath it) and are collecting a tremendous amount of food that is either going to create more cavity underneath it, kill the tooth or lead to gum disease. When I asked to have them redone, no one reached out to inquire why I think they need to be redone, what the concerning symptomatology was and how they can best help me resolve the issue. Multiple calls to the office, multiple emails and not once has either Sabia or Arias reached out to attempt to help me out. Instead, the office manager Leslie took a month before she came back with this response: "the doctor said she won't redo the crowns because it was Sabia who did them, not her (which is not really true, she seeded them) and she will no longer see you as a patient here." When I asked what my options were, Leslie recommended I ask for a refund from my insurance company. The exact same answer was given to my insurance company when they called to inquire for a refund on the botched crowns "the doctor will not see this patient any more. Till this day, this office has been driving Cigna and me in a circle, requesting "documentation" which was submitted and re-submitted multiple times, and there has been no resolution on the case. I have only received 5 emails total from them, all from Leslie, one saying "the doctor wants to know what the symptoms are," sent 3.5 months after I initially asked for the crowns to be redone. The issue with this is the following. One, the doctor should have asked what the symptoms are when she was my doctor, months ago, not AFTER she abandoned the doctor-patient privileges. Two, not attending to an issue of this nature for six months that could potentially put the patient at risk for loss of tooth or periodontitis (subject to malpractice) is either an extremely poor professionalism, work ethics and business skills OR a sign of disregard for societal laws put in place to protect the citizens from antisocial practices. For comparison purposes, if you were started on a new medication that is causing you side effects and you called your doctor's office, it would be illegal to have the front desk clerk discuss the symptoms with you and it would be malpractice on the provider's part to NEVER pick up the phone and discuss those side effects with you personally. Till this day, they have not responded to me or the insurance company. I hope you think twice before you set foot in this place, I wish I did. The upshot is that the generally bad reviews of Dr. Arias are true. I gave her the benefit of the doubt before seeing her myself, but her practice definitely isn't patient oriented. I recently had a consult with her on Bioclear and she told me I was a candidate for the pinhole surgical procedure and should have that done first by a periodontist. The periodontist she referred me to said that in fact I'm not a candidate for the pinhole surgical procedure, and so the consultation was a complete waste of time. When I contacted Dr. Arias to re-initiate the Bioclear process, she refused to see me and said that I'm "not a good fit" as a patient. The real reason for not seeing me seems to be that she has egg on her face for referring me to a periodontist for no reason. It's one of the most bewildering experiences I've ever had with a dentist, to say the least. read more

Thought I would try this place because it was closer to my home and work. I went in and the place felt more like place you get Botox injections or a face lift, cold, dark and gray. I introduced my self, said why I was there and instantly you could see the dollars signs flash on the two ladies face. They had no concern for what they could do to help me or even introduce me to the Dr. They couldn't even really tell me anything but we can set you up as a new patient. They asked if I had insurance and then you could see the drool starting, but as soon as I mentioned how do they accept payments, as in payment plans. Their eyes glossed over like zombies and you could tell they were done with me. So I said good bye. You can tell this is a dentist office that cares more about how much money they are going to get and not your health. Go to Dr. Stratman where he cares for your health and will meet with you and treat you like a person and not a cash cow. read more

By far the most traumatic dental experience, I have had. Arias is beyond aggressive, rough, and condescending. She has zero bedside manner and truly does not care if you are in pain or uncomfortable. After my procedure, an assistant whispered to me "I am so sorry." By the huge turnover of assistants and hygienists it is clear they are aware of Arias and her problems. When I switched dentists, I found that Arias prices are double others. My new dentist also commented that the work I had done was "rather shabby." As you will see from other reviews, she also pushes Invisalign. Found out that her significant other is an Invisalign rep! This was the worst dental experience ever!!!!! I would give this place zero stars. My daughter was in the office for one and a half hours and no cleaning was done. They said they were waiting for x -rays from her previous dentist. I made her the appointment 4 months prior so why did they not follow up sooner??? Most of the visit consisted of scanning her teeth and trying to upsell expensive treatments. And when the doctor finally examined her she was extremely aggressive and rough. Beware of the Sabino Dental "Discount Plan". This is a $300 annual, non-refundable contract (not insurance). That means if you decide to leave their practice before your annual contract has expired, there will be no refund. I renewed my annual contract on August 2, 2021. I then decided to change to another dental practice, and was told on August 25, 2021 that my unused 11 months of the contract would not be refunded. Sabino Dental website does not mention this plan(contract) nor does it provide any procedure/fee schedules to compare actual costs versus standard costs. Since I originally signed up for this plan in 2015, cost have increased. But there is no way of knowing what savings there are to be had. read more

Front desk staff is friendly and helpful, however, the medical staff is not. All about upselling unnecessary treatments and trying to sell me products I don't need. Lots of scare tactics about my teeth that anyone with common sense and critical thinking skills would see right through. When I questioned their reasoning for the products, they were very defensive. I'm a snowbird, only in Tucson in the winter, so when I broke a tooth and couldn't see my regular dentist back home I was worried about where I might end up. I was fortunate to get a next day appointment with Dr. Arias, who fixed my tooth conservatively, no suggestion of anything more radical or expensive. She is a very nice, as are her assistants and other staff, and she works very skillfully. I would definitely use her as my regular dentist if I lived in Tucson full time. read more

I have been to two dentists and two endodontists in Durham to the tune of $7000.00 with no resolution of the pain which I was experiencing in my lower jaw/teeth. After reading reviews of Dr. Arias, I scheduled an appointment to address the pain issues. The appointment was scheduled as an emergency so her time was limited. HOWEVER, within a very short period of time she was able to address and pain issues and make some excellent recommendations. I was very impressed with how quickly and expertly she was able to identify issues with previous dental work that could be contributing to my dental problems. She could do in a half hour what the doctors I have seen could not do after several visits. If I return to Tucson, I would not hesitate beginning dental work with Dr. Arias! The work I need would require my residing in Tucson for a couple of months which is quite understandable. I called in last week to find out exactly how much I would owe at my appointment today and I was told there would be no charge as it was covered by my insurance. Then when I arrived at my appointment today, the hygienist said she would be using the laser and... I stopped her because at one of my previous appointments I had called in the week before to find out the cost for the visit and was quoted one price and then at checkout was told it was a $100 more because they had used a laser. I had gotten upset because that was not what I was told on the phone and she just kept repeating that I had "signed the treatment plan" so that was how much I owed. I paid it, even though it felt wrong and I came back because I like Dr. Arias but... As soon I stopped the hygienist today and said I was told there would be no charge for the visit and wanted to make sure that was correct the first thing she said was you "signed the treatment plan". I told her I didn't bring any money so I needed to know. She said she didn't "deal with that" but she could get someone. When the front desk person came to talk to me she walked in with an attitude and let me know today's visit was approximately $100. I explained the situation to her. And she said if I didn't have money I could reschedule... At this point I was getting very annoyed, once is a mistake but twice is an issue. Especially considering that they were both speaking to me rudely and providing poor customer service. So I asked her, "what exactly do I need to ask when I call in prior to an appointment so that I can find out exactly how much it will be?" Her response... "I don't know, sometimes we don't enter into the computer right before the appointment or we are really busy when you call BUT since you did sign the treatment plan you should know." At this point it feels like a scam. And if it isn't then it is incompetence and poor customer service. Treatment plans show multiple appointments. They show all of the different costs associated with the recommendations that the dentist has given at that time. And it spans months worth of appointments. And they are only estimates based on doing everything and what they approximate the insurance will pay. I know this, which is why no matter what dentist I go to I call in before my appointment and say, "how much will I owe you at my next appointment?" I'm not rich. I have to budget. Good luck with this place. I have to say I am mad as hell which is why I am reviewing them. Yes their customer service is great but like all of these places, they want you to get work done immediately before you talk to your insurance company. They gave me a quote for the work they were going to do and they were an in-network dental office. Then I find that my insurance didn't cover a deep tooth cleaning on the right side of my mouth so I owe them $400. Their billing person tells me that I am still getting in-network discount of about $400. So that is $800 to have someone scrape my teeth for an hour. I had asked them if they sent my treatment plan in and they said they don't do that with the insurance companies, that it is my responsibility. My insurance company told me otherwise so I made them fax in the plan. Then I get notified that the crowns they recommended needed to be further justified. Needless to say I cancelled a deep cleaning I was supposed to get next month. She started to get snotty with me and said that she would like to get the payment now...two weeks later and they weren't budging on what I owed them. So obviously I learned not to trust them or any dental office. Get your quote, tell them to fax it in to your insurance company before you have any work done. I am really disappointed with this office. Don't let the smiling faces fool you. They are being paid to be nice to you until after they send you a bill. I scheduled my first visit for myself and my two kids in December. I planned to see the doctor over the spring break since I work at school. I scheduled our appointments more than three months ahead. The plan was to see a doctor on March 11 and March 14. I called the office today, March 7th, to clarify details of the appointment. The front desk lady told me that I have to reschedule my visits because the doctor has a 5 hours procedure on the day I was scheduled. I am confused because I got a text message two days ago to confirm my appointments! The front desk didn't call me, I called them to get ready for our first visit. When they were planning to cancel the visit? Why did they schedule my appointments if they had scheduled such a long procedure on the same day? It looks like they don't care about my schedule and my time. It was supposed to be our first visit to that office. I decided to look for another place because it was not a good start. Maybe Dr Arias has a lot of patients and she doesn't need three new ones. I am just disappointed that I wasted three months waiting for this appointment. I could look somewhere else. Do not go here they falsely got me in there under the impression they we're going to take my Care Credit and then when I got there they did the exam and everything and then told me how much it was going to be it didn't tell me how much it was going to be before that or explain any better. Are asked me what insurance I had once I got there for credit so I wound up paying $260 for x-rays that I did not need. I don't think they're very credible people. read more
